A Study of the Swedish Press Views on the Health Insurance Reform in the USA? The purpose of this essay is partly to examine whether the picture that Swedish press presents of the health insurance reform in the US, which is part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Act bill, will be of crucial importance to the possibilities that the American population has to receive health insurance. The main research question is accordingly: ?Does the picture that Swedish press presents of the health insurance reform in the USA, seem like something that will be of radical importance to the possibilities of the population to receive healthcare?? The purpose is also to examine in which model (demand or market) the opinions of the Swedish press fits. This purpose will be answered by using three specific questions asking whether their opinions differ when it comes to three criterions: organization, financing/resources and delivery systems.

För att ett företag ska kunna hävda sig på dagens globaliserade marknad krävs det att företaget helatiden arbetar mot en mer effektiv verksamhet. För att uppnå en effektivare verksamhet arbetarmånga företag med Lean. Lean innebär att slöseri ska reduceras, där slöseri definieras som allaaktiviteter som inte tillför något kundvärde. Lean är idag, framförallt på produktionssidan ettpopulärt arbetssätt, dock har forskning visat att Lean kan leda till en ökad stress för medarbetarna.Lean har delvis implementerats inom tjänstesektorn men inte alls i samma utsträckning som itillverkningsindustrin. På grund av detta finns det inte mycket forskning om Leans inverkan påmedarbetarna inom tjänstesektorn sett ur ett stressperspektiv.Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka om Lean leder till en mer stressfylld arbetsmiljö förmedarbetarna på företag inom den privata delen tjänstesektorn.

Background: Previous research has shown that the understanding and knowledge about the spiritual needs is not given high priority among nursing staff. During the latest years the body and its functions has controlled the healthcare and the spiritual needs has been placed in the background. All humans have spiritual needs that must be satisfied irrespective of religious background. Aim: The aim of this study was to in a caring perspective illustrate patients? spiritual and existential needs in palliative care.

The district nurses' duties with all organisational changes, above all during the last 20 years, have been changed. Economy and listing governs which visits that to be prioritized. The aim with this study was to examine what district nurses in the primary care in Uppsala län has for view about their occupational role. The method was qualitative and the selection comprized ten district nurses in Uppsala län that were interviewed individually on the basis of a semi structured interview guide that the authors the actual created. In the wide analysis of the results could a theme, As a rubber screw in a shrinking hole and three central categories be discerned, Occupational role, Diversity and Organisation.

SammanfattningLean produktion är ett välkänt begrepp inom industrin som strävar efter resurseffektivitet och förbättringsarbete med kunden i fokus. Inom lean produktion finns flertal metoder och filosofier att beakta och detta arbete behandlar 5S-metoden, sju plus en slöserierna och allas engagemang i en organisation. Framgångarna med lean produktion inom industrin har lett till att det har implementerats i flera olika branscher, inte minst sjukvården. Denna implementering har mötts av varierande åsikter.Syftet med denna rapport är att undersöka om implementeringen av lean produktion inom sjukvården kan bli lika effektiv som inom industrin. Implementeringen av lean inom sjukvården har till viss del visat sig vara framgångsrikt, men oftast uppnås inte uppsatta mål.

Approximately one third of all patients in primary care have a psychosocial component to their illness that requires adequate professional treatment. However, primary care is insufficiently prepared for these patients. The aim of this case-study was to evaluate a pilot project in primary care offering psychotherapy as a treatment alternative. The data collected includes 1) data from 352 referred patients regarding demographics, diagnosis, treatment duration and pre- and post health status, 2) a patient-satisfaction questionnaire and 3) interviews with six therapists and five medical doctors. The treated patients improved significantly and showed a high degree of satisfaction.

Som tandhygienist är det mycket intressant att studera karies-epidemiologiska undersökningar på både nationell och internationell nivå. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att beskriva och jämföra kariesstatus (DMFT) hos 12-åringar i Sverige och Irak, och några av de faktorer som kan påverka DMFT komponenternas roll och inverkan. För att besvara syftet användes information från litteratur och tidskrifter samt WHO:s databas om länderna. Resultatet visar att DMFT för 12-åringar i Irak var 1.7 (2003) och i Sverige 1.0 (2005). DT-komponenten, d.v.s. obehandlad karies, var hög hos irakiska barn medan FT- komponenten var hög för danska barn (inga data tillgängliga för Sverige).

Syfte: Syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur Lean passar i vården genom att studera framgångsfaktorer och kartlägga eventuella utmaningar samt att ge en ökad förståelse för vårdens Leanarbete.Metod: För att uppnå syftet med studien lämpar sig en kvalitativ metodinriktning bäst. För att öka förståelsen för hur Lean passar i vården har en fallstudie genomförts, där tio verksamheter inom Landstinget i Värmland har studerats. Ett sätt att samla in data för denna studie har varit att genomföra semistrukturerade intervjuer med respondenter inom varje verksamhet och detta ligger till grund för empirin. Referensramen har arbetats fram med hjälp av vetenskapliga artiklar och böcker.Slutsats: Studien visar, att Lean som ursprungligen konstruerades för den japanska bilindustrin, mycket väl kan användas i vården, men måste anpassas till vårdens behov. Gammal ledningsstruktur, invanda roller och oförutsägbarhet är hinder som måste överbryggas för att Leanarbetet ska fungera optimalt.

Lean och Sex Sigma är två av de mest använda kvalitetsförbättringsmetodikerna. Vanligtvis brukar endast en av dessa implementeras inom en verksamhet, antingen Lean eller Sex Sigma. Sedan millennieskiftet har en ny förbättringsmetodik vid namn Lean Sex Sigma utvecklats genom att integrera de båda tidigare. Diskussionerna om Lean Sex Sigma har dock till största del hållits på en teoretisk nivå och det finns få praktiska exempel. Avsaknaden på praktiska exempel beror främst på avsaknaden av ett standardramverk för en Lean Sex Sigma modell, trots att många författare tidigare föreslagit olika modeller.Syftet med denna studie är att utveckla och föreslå en modell för Lean Sex Sigma som kan användas som standardramverk i framtiden.

This qualitative study involves the implementation of Lean and Kaizen methods in a Swedish service industry. Lean philosophy is based on a method to achieve more with less. In practical terms this means that the use of an organization's resources is improved. The origin of Lean is the Toyota Production System. Now, Kaizen methods give managers and employees a better more efficient system to reach their goals within the organization or company.

Abstract:Theoretical framework:  The Theory of Suffering by Katie Eriksson was used.Aim: The aim was to illuminate factors that influence women?s choice to seek care for urinary incontinence.Method: This literature review was based on a sample of nine qualitative and quantitative studies. Modified templates were used to assess the quality of the studies. Analysis of the results was done withmanifest content analysis.Findings: Findings made clear that the experience of shame is a central factor for women not to seek treatment for their urinary incontinence UI. Women had to have severe loss of quality of life in order to seek help for their UI, and the loss of quality of life had to be subjectively larger than the feeling of shame.

During the middle of the 18th century the development of Toyota Production System, TPS, started in order to streamline the processes. TPS was based on the principles of assembly line production but unlike previous performers Toyota let the manufacturing be constantly affected by demand. At the end of the 18th century TPS was described by Womack and Jones in the book "The machine that changed the world - the story of lean producion" where TPS got the name lean. The principles behind lean is to maximize customer value and eliminate waste which means making products and services more valuable to the customer. 1Lean was for a long time a philosophy and an approach limited to industries and production based companies.

The health care sector Öster has the highest average absence due to short-time sickness in Örebro. It is the short-term absence that has the highest costs for the organisation, not just in money, but also in quality disturbances and administrative work. Health care sector Öster is divided into four areas with a manager for each. We have chosen to conduct our research within the special housings in area one and four, since these two had the lowest and highest short-term absences.The purpose with the research is to examine short-term absences among the health care personnel in the health care sector Öster, see what the absences depend on, and what can be done to solve the issue. We will compare the absences in the area with the highest respectively lowest short-term absences in order to see if there are any prominent differences between the two.

Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka möjligheten att kunna påbörja ett arbete med att införa ett lean-tänkande i skolverksamheten för att kunna strukturera och få en effektivare undervisning i verkstaden. I undervisningen förekommer det tidsåtgång för onödiga moment till exempel letande efter olika verktyg som inte är placerade på rätt ställe. Den grundläggande meningen med lean-filosofin är att eliminera slöseri i det dagliga arbetet. De frågor som behöver besvaras är vad elever och kolleger anser om nuläget, samt vad de vet om leankonceptet och om de är medvetna om sin egen roll i sammanhanget. För att få fram svar har en kvantitativ undersökningsmetod använts i form av en enkät till eleverna och en kvalitativ metod genom intervjuer med kolleger, för att kunna använda fördelarna som båda metoderna erbjuder.

Sweden has one of the best elderly cares in Europe and the Swedish care work is also one of the best in terms of quality, compared to other European countries. In recent years, higher demands have been set on the care work and the number of privatizations of public services has increased. In 2009 a new law came into force, the Act on System of Choice (LOV) which increased individual?s right to a greater participation and a free choice in the selection of health and social care providers. This paper aims to highlight the impact of the law, system of choice.
