Propose/Aim: The aim of this thesis is to examine the professional role of the Community Manager working for gaming companies. The thesis will examine which background and previous experience a Community Manager should have and the tasks included in the assignment to see how this new role can contribute to the development of gaming companies.Material/Method: The method used in this study is of a qualitative character. The data has been gathered through e-mail interviews with five people working as Community Managers in the gaming business and in addition, through a textual analysis of five job advertisements. The results were analyzed on the basis of carefully selected theories in the field of strategic communication.Main results: The main result of this study is that the Community Manager's most important task is to act as a link between the players and the game developers by communicating with both sides. The Community Manager can receive important feedback from the players which can contribute to the game development. .

Arbetet syftar till att undersöka möjligheten att med hjälp av moderna arbetssätt få en arbetsgång med ständiga förbättringar inom anläggningsbranschen. Sökandet sker med hjälp av litteraturstudier kring ISO 9000 och LEAN samt studiebesök vid två företag, Hauler&Loaders Arvikafabriken (Volvo Wheel Loaders AB) samt PartnerTech Karlskoga AB. Detta är företag som under tid arbetat med dessa frågor och som nått goda resultat.Det framkommer att ISO 9000 är mycket öppet och inte detaljstyrande men att det finns vinster att hämta genom nyttjande av standarden. Kunder får en bekräftelse på att företaget i fråga har uppnått en god lägstanivå och det certifierande tredjepartsföretaget kan under externa revisioner hjälpa till att förbättra kvalitetssystemet. LEAN däremot är mer handfast även om det precis som ISO 9000 innehåller en stor del vision och filosofi.Studiebesöken har mynnat ut i ett flertal handfasta arbetsmetoder redo att anpassas för tester inom anläggningsbranschen.

Bakgrund: Globala och nationella krav i "det nya arbetslivet", påverkar individen till att försöka upprätthålla en bred kompetens, flexibilitet i ett alltmer individualiserat samhälle. Den ökade ohälsan skapas av problem som otrygga arbetsförhållanden, en stressigare arbetsmiljö för både fast anställd och tillfällig arbetskraft. Personalens arbetsätt utkristalliseras på många olika sätt i verksamheterna, vilket får konsekvenser för det gemensamma arbetet och dess mål. Följden blir att var och en arbetar utifrån sin troliga teori och det vardagliga "praktiska" görandet tar över arbetet alltmer i verksamheten. Detta försvårar arbetet mot gemensamma mål, visionen om den teoretiska kunskapen har gått förlorad.

Saab Training Systems (STS) in Huskvarna is manufacturing material for educationalpurposes to armies worldwide. They are now implementing parts of the Lean productionconcept in their organisation.One part of the work with Lean production is to eliminate waste. To be able to identify waste,value stream mapping is a good tool and also what we used in our thesis. To gain a betterefficiency in the production of Personnel Detector Device (PDD) flow was one of our goals.The PDD is a harness used during battle training which registers if the user is being hit by itsenemy.Our work with the thesis started up with a short education in Lean production and in valuestream mapping (VSM). The work proceeded with a VSM of the production flow of the PDD,interviews were made and studies of literature were done to gain greater knowledge of thesubject and solve the task.The VSM resulted in five areas which were followed up out of those six we identified.

In December 22, 2010, the hockey clubs AIK and Djurgården played against each other in front of an audience of more than 11 000 people in Ericsson Globe Arena, Stockholm. Although it was one of the biggest games of the year, afterwards no one was talking about the actual game on the ice. The reason; several times during the game, hooligans from both sides started big quarrels and the hockey dome felt more like a war scene than a place for a hockey game. From a branding point of view, and along with similar incidents from the past, the night in December did not create a good situation for AIK and their image.  Therefore, in this essay I want to investigate how AIK communicated through the crisis. I also want to evaluate whether their communication was good or bad from the perspective of different crisis communication theories.The essay?s research questions are:How did media describe the crisis and AIK´s part in it?What effect did AIK´s previous history of similar problem have on the ongoing crisis?How did AIK communicate through the crisis?How was AIK´s image affected by the crisis?What did AIK do well/what could AIK have done better?To be able to answer these questions, several news articles from the sports paper ?Hockeyexpressen? has been analyzed as well as a text from AIK itself.

In this study, we have explored a new area called ?gamification? ? a word and concept that was first introduced on the Internet autumn 2010. Gamification concerns integrating game design, with emphasis on game mechanics and game dynamics, into non-gaming contexts ? such as marketing. At its basic definition, it concerns the process of transforming all kinds of activities into games.

Behovet av effektivisering och förbättring är ständigt aktuellt för organisationer och företag, inte minst inom den offentliga sektorn. John P Kotter (1996) har i över ett decennium studerat över hundra företag som genomgått förändringsarbete och utifrån dessa studier tagit fram en 8 stegs-modell för att hjälpa organisationer att genomföra lyckade förändringsarbeten. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur chefer upplever förändringsarbete utifrån Kotters ?framgångsrecept?. Ser chefer effekter av förändringsarbetet i sin verksamhet och finns det likheter mellan chefernas upplevelse av förändringsarbetet och Kotters ?framgångsrecept? för ett lyckat förändringsarbete?För att uppnå syftet har en kvalitativ ansats använts bestående av en fallstudie inom Strängnäs kommun som genomför ett stort förändringsarbete kallat Brobygget.

This is a qualitative study that explores how bilingual children develop their language through play. The study is based on observations and interviews conducted in a preschool located in a multicultural area of Stockholm.The purpose of using two qualitative methods; observations and interviews, was to get a bigger picture of the study area. The results of the study, illustrated through observations and interviews that I have conducted, shows that the game has great role for bilingual children's language development. Furthermore, the results show that the informants are aware of the importance of play for bilingual children's language development especially when they are talking about investing in the promotion of children's language by using different methods and materials in their pre activity for various games and activities.One of my conclusions is that bilingual children learn the language during both free play and structured play especially when educators are present and aware of the activities that they perform. It is also important to see children as individuals to cover all the needs of children at different activities.

Detta examensarbete handlar om införande av Lean Administration i administrativa stödprocesser. Examensarbetet undersöker hur Leanverktyg kan bidra till att standardisera dokument och dokumenthanteringen och därigenom eliminera slöserier. Parallellt erhålls kvalitetssäkring och effektivisering, samt att kapacitet frigörs till värdehöjande aktiviteter. Studiens fokus och tyngdpunkt beträffande empirin bygger på aktionsforskning bedriven hos ett tradingföretag där den stödjande dokumenthanteringen till arbetet med utfallsprover studerats närmare.Bakgrunden till studien kan härledas till den globala konkurrensen som medfört att fler företag i större omfattning arbetat med att förbättra och effektivisera sin verksamhet. Fler företag har även valt att fokusera på sin kärnkompetens och har därför outsourcat delar av sin verksamhet.

This report is the result of a thesis work carried out on the Risifrutti production at the company Procordia Food AB. The thesis is at a master level and is the final work for the author to receive a Master of Science in Innovative production at Mälardalen University. The thesis comprises 30 credits and has lasted for 18 weeks. The thesis is mainly a research on whether it is possible to perform an Environmental Value Stream Map (E-VSM) in a food processing industry and an evaluation if the tools E-VSM and Green Performance Map (GPM) are useful in this type of industry. An extra part to this research is to use the results from the E-VSM and give Procordia Food AB information on improvement potentials in the Risifrutti production. The author has found it difficult to collect some of the quantitative data to the E-VSM, mainly regarding energy, but by using the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tool and other Lean tools the author was able to identify and quantify several wastes in the Risifrutti production. Recommendations for improvements based on these wastes have been given to the company. In the research part of this report the utility of the Value Stream Map, Environmental Value Stream Map and Green Performance Map in a food processing industry have been analyzed. The author has found that the Value Stream Map has been a useful tool since waste and unevenness in the tact of the production has been identified. The Environmental Value Stream Map and the Green Performance Map are also great tools when a company wants to analyze their environmental impact and then invest in environmental improvements. However, no profound energy analyzes has been done in the Risifrutti production because of the lack of energy meters for steam, electricity and compressed air in the production lines..

One difference noted in this study is how the teams in the game provide players. Each team has a board of directors together with the team's leadership and they will determine which players are most suitable for the team. These players are recruited to the team after graduating from a U.S.

Tjänstesektorn utgör ungefär 80 % av Sveriges BNP, men har länge präglats av lägre produktivitet än tillverkningssektorn. Detta skulle kunna förändras genom konceptet lean som innebär effektivisering av flöden och syftar till att erbjuda kunden exakt vad den vill ha med hjälp av mindre insatser i form av personal, utrustning, tid, utrymme och aktiviteter. Nyttan med lean inom produktionssektorn är bevisad och effektiviteten förmodas öka två till tre gånger efter en implementering inom dessa företag. Konceptet hävdas även vara användbart inom tjänstesektorn och andra kontexter, men det råder fortfarande tvivel om effekten konceptet har på prestationer och lönsamhet i tjänsteorganisationer. Avsaknaden av sådana bevis har påverkat konceptets spridning utanför produktionsindustrin.

Denna rapport är resultatet av ett examensarbete utfört vid Institutionen för industriell och ekonomisk utveckling vid Linköpings universitet på uppdrag av konsultbolaget Sustainia AB. Lean produktion, ofta benämnt Lean, har det senaste decenniet blivit en allt mer attraktiv produktionsfilosofi för att minska kostnader och öka kundnöjdhet genom förbättrad leveransservice och effektivare flöde. Ett flertal författare har påpekat att införandet av Lean direkt kan förbättra ett företags miljöprestanda, främst till följd av det minskade slöseri som Lean avser ge upphov till. Vidare finns studier som visar att vissa möjligheter till förbättringar och kostnadsbesparingar riskerar att gå oupptäckta om verksamheten ses ur ett strikt Lean-perspektiv. Med ett miljösynsätt finns dock chans att dessa blir upptäckta.

This essay covers computer gaming as seen from a perspective of gender theory. The main purpose of the essay is to examine women?s relationship to computer games, and more specifically women?s attitudes to the games they play. The theoretical basis for this essay is sprung from a hermeneutic perspective. The empirical basis for analysis consists of two in depth interviews and game analysis of the two computer games Counter Strike and Final Fantasy XI.
