Many companies do not register all the stops that occur in a production plant, it often takes longer to report than to fix the problem. If no problems are registered, you cannot trace where the problems arise.This master thesis was performed at AcobiaFLUX and they have noticed an increased demand from their customers to trace problems raised in their processes. The aim of the thesis was to find out how a tool to monitor a process best could be developed. Then the most essential from the theoretical base was developed into a useful tool for operators. For the operators to know if the process utilizes the full capacity of a process, the tool presents a measure of the Overall Equipment Efficiency, OEE.

Drinking water from drilled wells has a high content of iron and other minerals in many places in Sweden. Questions about the association between the quality of drinking water and the health of dairy cows are regulary asked both by advisers and dairy farmers. There are so far not many studies published about the relevance for high iron content in water and dairy cow health and production. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate if there is a connection between the iron content in water and the health of dairy cows. Initially a literature study was made about iron and it´s function in ruminants.

  I centrala Umeå finns det 18 stycken hotell, som sällan är fullbelagda. Gästerna har således relativt stora valmöjligheter när de ska välja hotell. Det mest logiska är att en gäst väljer det hotell som efter sina förutsättningar och de förmåner de kan erbjuda ger kunden en upplevelse som möter eller överträffar kundens förväntningar. Många av kunderna idag ställer högre krav på företag och leverantörer än tidigare och tack vare Internet har de större möjligheter att undersöka och jämföra de olika företagens utbud och erbjudanden innan de gör sitt val. Hotell som i grunden har samma kunderbjudande, dvs.

Detta examensarbete har utförts vid Elitfönster AB i Vetlanda. Elitfönster AB är Sveriges största leverantör av fönster och fönsterdörrar.Syftet med arbetet är att ta fram åtgärdsförslag för att minska ledtiderna, då korta leveranstider blir ett allt viktigare konkurrensmedel. Arbetet innebar en kartläggning av nuvarande produktionsflöde och identifiering av problemområden.Arbetet genomfördes med hjälp av tidsstudier och intervjuer med arbetsledare och personal. Arbetet bygger även en hel del på observationer, iakttagelser och studerande av statistik.I stora drag kan man dra slutsatsen att de långa ledtiderna beror på främst två orsaker;? hyvelbanornas långa ställtider som medför körningar i veckosatser? kvalitetsbrister och bristfälliga kvalitetskontroller samt trästycken som ?försvinner? längs förädlingskedjan.

The purpose of this report was to compare Lilluns egg production with other Swedish egg producers based on the flow of nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) in the egg production systems. The main focus in the report was the utilization rate of the forage and the excess of nutrients per kg egg. Additionally, the purpose was to identify the environmental impact from Lilluns egg production and compare the results with other egg producers. The inflow of nutrients associated with forage and poultry was compared with the nutrients that were exported from the production. All of the egg producers in this study had an excess of nutrients.

Detta examensarbete handlar ?Verklighetstrogen Effektskomposition?. Målet med arbetet är att undersöka och utnyttja alla de olika aspekterna som gör att en film med specialeffekter känns så verklighetstrogen som möjligt. Arbetet handlar om de olika delarna i en filmproduktionsfas så som pre-production,production och post-production. Filmen som skapas är en specialeffektsbaserad hemmavideo som har som syfte att vara så chockande som möjligt i förhållande till vad man förväntar sig när man börjar kolla.

Sustainable beef and milk consumption. The consumption of beef and dairy products in Sweden is high. A lot of greenhouse gases are emitted from the production of these products. The production of beef in Sweden has decreased but the import has increased. The number of dairy cows has decreased while beef-production with suckler-cows has increased in Sweden.

I takt med att arbetet på den svenska arbetsmarknaden genomgått en rad förändringar det senaste århundradet har bland annat lågkvalificerade arbeten försvunnit till förmån för mer kvalificerade. Några typiska kännetecken för dagens arbetsmarknad är en högre grad av flexibilitet, tidsbegränsade anställningar och ett allt mer gränslöst arbete. Ett av flera nya managementkoncept som vuxit fram är Lean management, vilket handlar om att effektivisera genom att eliminera icke värdeskapande tid och arbeta utifrån kundens efterfrågan. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om det finns skillnader i hur individer i två olika yrkesgrupper inom en och samma organisation, som arbetar utifrån Lean management, beskriver flexibilitet och bundenhet samt hur de förhåller sig till gränsdragningen mellan arbete och privatliv. Den tidigare forskningen på området visar att flexibiliteten upplevs bero på vilken kontext man befinner sig i.

Responsible production is a subject of increasing importance for companies toadopt and communicate to their environment and many companies choose to implementenvironmental ? and ethic considerations into their brand strategy. There is, however, adividing line between companies according to what extent they choose to implementresponsible production into their brand strategy and to which extent they choose tocommunicate it to their stakeholders and surroundings. It is the hypothesis about a dividingline that is the foundation for this essay and something we believed could be interesting forfurther analysis.The purpose of our essay is to find out how the brand strategy of a company is affected by theresponsible production and in what extent they communicate it to their environment. Byanswering those questions we hope to find out why some companies communicateresponsible production more actively than others.We have conducted in-depth interviews with the Swedish clothing companies; MariaWesterlind, Zion and Dem Collective and we have through our analysis reached interestingconclusions.

Value stream mapping is a tool that is frequently used by many different companies. It is a great tool used to achieve the work that follows the theories of Lean Production. The tool is used, however, only frequent on the factory floor and the method is also designed based on this type of use.An interest of applying the method on administrative parts of the company has occurred lately. Administrative parts of the company refers to the part that does all the planning such as purchasing, receiving orders, customer contact, contact with factory floor and other work that is made around the actual manufacturing. But the knowledge about applying value stream mapping on the planning part of the company is lacking because the method is relatively new.In this work, a comparison is made between the introduction of value stream analysis on production and planning.

Tillverkningslinan för växellådans ingående axel har funnits i sitt nuvarande utförande sedan sensommaren 2013. Omställningstiden för linan översteg med råge det önskade, vilket ledde till långa stopptider och förlorad produktionstid. Under de förutsättningar som rådde hamnar genomsnittet för omställningstiden någonstans i intervallet 3-4 timmar, men tider kring 6 timmar hör inte till ovanligheterna. Målet med uppdraget var att, på den observerade linan, sänka omställningstiden till 30 minuter samtidigt som produkternas kvalitet bibehålls. Ett delmål under arbetets gång var att skapa förutsättningar för att tidsvariationen minskas samt att det definieras hur omställningstiden på linan ska mätas.

Bakgrund och Problemdiskussion Lean-konceptets applicerbarhet inom servicesektorn har på senare år uppmärksammats allt mer. Lean som har sin grund i den japanska bilindustrin brukas idag över hela världen, främst inom tillverkningsbranschen. Utgångspunkten för vår problemdiskussion är en artikel skriven av Kennedy och Widener (hädanefter K & W) där författarna först byggt upp ett teoretiskt ramverk för hur ekonomistyrningen kan se ut enligt de lean-principer som finns. Orsakssambanden mellan ramverkets komponenter har man fått fram genom en empirisk studie på ett tillverkningsföretag. I slutet av artikeln blickar författarna framåt och hoppas att andra forskare gör undersökningar likt deras för att se om de orsakssamband de hittat även är applicerbara på andra företag.

The 1st of January 2009 a new goal was set for the emergency care in Stockholms läns landsting. This new goal stated that 70 per cent of the patients shall not spend more than four hours in the hospital when requesting emergency care. The processes in the emergency room at Södersjukhuset do not cope with this new goal. The authors studied the reasons for this and made suggestions based on the findings. The conclusions were that the emergency room should place doctors much earlier in the emergency care process or implement a system where specialists act as tutors to non-specialized doctors.

As demand for renewable energy is increasing rapidly, the market for biomass pellets is expected to continue to grow in the near future. Most of the new raw materials that are discussed for pellet production have one thing in common; the production costs will increase compared to using traditional raw materials such as sawdust and planer shavings. The aim of this thesis is to investigate to what degree increased use of new raw materials for pellet production will affect the general pellet prices in Sweden and to survey what plans Swedish pellet producers have concerning new raw materials. To investigate the raw material situation of the Swedish pellet producers an industry survey was performed. Literature studies were also made on previous research in the subject field. Calculations of the production costs for pellets were done for the raw materials sawdust, wet sawmill chips and energy wood respectively. New raw materials are already used by the large-scale pellet producers in Sweden.
