Sjuksköterskors och läkares delaktighet i kvalitetsutveckling : En fallstudie vid Karlskoga lasarett
The purpose of this master's degree thesis was to develop an understanding of how hospital management, in the case studied, worked to achieve changes in an organization influenced by differing professional cultures. To gain insight into the conditions that may have contributed to nurses and physicians developing appropriate attitudes and behaviours, which may have affected the organization's ability to achieve the Swedish Quality Award 2012. A qualitative single case study was conducted at Karlskoga Hospital, with focus groups as well as individual depth interviews. The results of the case study showed the following conditions provided nurses and physicians the potential to develop appropriate attitudes and behaviours, which may have influenced the hospitals ability to achieve the Swedish Quality Award: Responsibility and influence over the development processes.Participation in management teams and quality development groups as well as individual fields of responsibility.Training programs that have given insights and skills in quality management related to clinical practice.Nurses and physicians as key individuals gave legitimacy to development process, and served as management advisors.Collaboration between all kind of employees and responsibilities.Committed management. .
Dagens arbetsmiljö för tjänstemän i norra Virginia, USA : en studie av ett amerikanskt företag.
Syfte:Att skildra en arbetsmiljö en ung akademiker kan förvänta sig att möta på en arbetsplats i norra Virginia, USA. Att reda ut vilka arbetsvillkoren är och hur arbetsmiljön ser ut ur perspektiv som genus, kultur och ledarskap. Metod: Kvalitativ forskningsmetod med en induktiv, tolkande och konstruktionistisk strategi. Fallstudier har använts för att inhämta empirisk information. Resultat & slutsats: Det finns en paradox kring arbetstid och flexibilitet. Stipulerad arbetstid är långt ifrån verklig arbetstid. Tjänstemän arbetar betydligt mer än vad som ingår i en normal arbetsvecka.
Att integrera ett barnperspektiv: en kvalitativ studie om barnperspektivets status i handläggning av ekonomiskt bistånd
The main purpose of this study was that, in the light of theories of how street level bureaucrats may affect the implementation of political decisions, examine and analyze the social workers interpretations of the child perspective's impact on the handling of social assistance, and what opportunities and/or limitations they feel that the organizational preconditions means for the application. The survey had a qualitative research approach and consisted of eight thematic interviews with a total of ten respondents operating in five different municipalities. Eight of the respondents were social workers dealing directly with social assitance and two had managerial positions. The results of the interviews were then analyzed with the help of an actor-structure approach to implementation and Michael Lipskys theory of street-level bureaucrats and their role as policy makers. The results of the survey showed that the respondents had relatively similar views on the child perspectives implications for work with social assistance.

The need for snow-free surfaces at squares, bus stops, platforms, car parks and sports facilities increases and at the same time energy price rise and the environment is becoming a hotter issue. The construction of the ground heating systems often lack thermal insulation under the heating pipes, which means that the heat from the pipes not only warm up the soil surface but also heats the surrounding soil. The insulation also has more features, by insulating the risk of frost damage is minimized. The goal of this report is to demonstrate the large heat loss and energy costs in the absence of insulation under the heating system.The report begins with a scientific way to study and treating the soil heating system uses, and the theory involved. Furthermore it also deals with different routing principles of heat pipes depending on the facility.All calculations are made with so called finite element method (FEM), in COMSOL Multiphysics 3,5a, where models are created with different conditions.

Declining union memberships are a fact in both Sweden and Finland. At the same time, the autonomous labour market parties and the high membership rates are the most significant factors for the two countries compared to Europe and the rest of the world. These two factors have in turn been developed and strengthened since the beginning of the twentieth century. By autonomous labour market parties I refer to the fact that the labour market parties themselves through collective bargaining are agreeing on the labour market conditions, without interference from the government.This paper is therefore taking it's stance in the question of what happens with the autonomous labour market parties when the membership rates are in decline. With this in mind, this paper describes the judicial development, the collective agreement and labour market structures, the legal consequences of collective agreements and the opportunities of industrial and sympathy action in both Sweden and Finland. The two countries' systems of labour law have caught some negative attention, hence two of the most discussed cases of recent years are given some attention as well. The collective judicial conditions are very similar in both Sweden and Finland regarding the labour market main actors' collaboration, the collective agreement structures and legal consequences and the opportunities of industrial and sympathy action.

Denna studie handlar om kvinnliga ledare och deras förutsättningar på företaget Sandvik AB i Sandviken. Vilken typ av kvinnor väljer att bli chefer, vilken bakgrund och vilka egenskaper har de? Jag undersöker om det finns något som hindrar kvinnor från att bli chefer, samt tar reda på hur kvinnorna på Sandvik anser att en bra ledare ska vara. Min slutsats är att kvinnorna i intervjun har varit pappas flicka i den bemärkelsen att de har tytt sig mer till sin pappa än sin mamma, de är lyhörda och de bryr sig om sina medarbetare. Our purpose with this study was to investigate whether there was any difference between high and low performing students from selected aspects such as choice of studies, achievement, self-image, motivation, confidence and career choices.A training professional in today's schools requires knowledge of how young people think about their lives for us to help students develop both high-and low-performing students. Students have different conditions, but no matter good or bad conditions, each individual pupil must be allowed to develop.The concepts used in the study are of study, self-image, motivation, achievement in the future and career choices. In the background, describes these concepts through literature study. The method we have used was semi-structured interviews. Which means a fixed structure, but with room for follow-up questions.The results of our study indicate that there were clear differences between high-and low-performing students.

Ledarskap i främmande kulturer : en kvalitativ studie av franska chefer verksamma i Sverige
I dagens globaliserade samhälle suddas gränserna ut allt mer och vi har kommit att leva mycket närmare andra kulturer. Detta märks inom EU då detta har lett till att det blir lättare att resa och inte minst jobba i andra europeiska länder. Företagen etablerar kontor i länder världen över vilket leder till att olika nationaliteter och kulturer möts på arbetsplatsen. De kulturella skillnaderna handlar till stor del om människors olika normer och värderingar som innefattar samtliga personer i företaget oavsett position. Den interna kommunikationen kan försämras i ett multinationellt företag om chefer och anställda inte är på samma våglängd.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine the library discourses concerning the phenomenon and concept of digital libraries in Swedish library press 1980-2002. What changes can be identified? The questions are: what is said about the conditions for the phenomenon; how is the concept of digital libraries used; who makes these statements; what are the relations between these discussions and the library context in which they are made? Five Swedish library journals, BBL/Biblioteksbladet, DIK-forum, Human IT, Svensk biblioteksforskning and Tidskrift för dokumentation, were examined. The method used was discourse analysis. The theoretical starting-point was Foucaults discourse theory.
Hur ofta bör småhus sotas? : En samhällsekonomisk analys av ändrade sotningsfrister
Sweden recently changed the national regulation of chimney sweeping. This study has two purposes. The first purpose is to evaluate the effect of this reform to see if the new regulation has led to an effect in terms of increased chimney fires in single-family houses and for the wood-burning and oil-burning stoves, respectively. The second purpose is an updating of a previous study (Mattsson 1994) of analysis of society´s benefits and costs of different alternative sweeping frequencies for wood-burning and oil-burning stoves. This study also has a secondary purpose to examine the extent to which the local sweeping rules vary with climate conditions. Mattsson, based on his results, proposed that the sweeping requirements for oil-burning stoves should be reduced from twice a year to once every second year and for wood-burning stoves the sweeping should be reduced from four times to once each year.
