The aim of this project has been to raise the production efficiency of Daliff Precision Engineering through reduced transportation time and a more standardized manufacturing process. The problem has upraised because of a big and diversified product flora without any standard products and with just small batches ordered. The report also tries to show the work procedure with general analytical methods and be an example of how a similar problem can be resolved. The transportation time is being proposed to be reduced through a change in the layout of the factory. By moving a few manual machines, dispatch and burring to more efficient locations, the total transportation time will be reduced by 55 %.

I kölvattnet av Nollvisionen uppstår problem för oskyddade trafikanter. Vid mittseparering av 13-metersvägar blir utrymmet för dessa trafikantgrupper otillräckligt och nya lösningar måste till. Detta examensarbete syftar till att förbättra framkomligheten och trafiksäkerheten för oskyddade trafikanter på s k MLV (Mötesseparerad LandsVäg). Målet med examensarbetet har varit att inventera problem, identifiera förbättringsområden, finna bra lösningar samt att beräkna vilka kostnader som dessa lösningar orsakar.Som ett resultat av arbetet har framkommit att det saknas en nationell samstämmighet i synen på hur oskyddade trafikanter på MLV, skall behandlas. Vidare existerar det en stor fokusering i centrala direktiv, kanske mest inofficiella, på bilisters och transportörers behov vid utformningen av MLV.

Idag finns det ett stort tryck på förtätning i vattennära lägen. Många gamla verksamhetsområden och hamnområden utvecklas till nya stadsdelar. Stora delar av hamnen i Oskarshamn används idag fortfarande aktivt men Inre Hamnen står utan någon direkt användning. Syftet med mitt arbete har varit att utforma ett förslag från oanvänd hamn till attraktiv del av staden, som kopplar ihop Inre Hamnen med stadens centrum, men som även ska öka platsens attraktion. Syftet har även varit att öka viljan att röra och befinna sig i hamnområdet. Ett problem har varit den upplevda barriärseffekten på Skeppsbron, som sträcker sig längs med en stor del av planområdet. Att få ner skalan på vägen samt minska bilarnas dominans har varit av stor vikt i utformandet av planförslaget. För att få grepp om platsens egenskaper och karaktär har Cullens serial vision använts samt en SWOT-analys (styrkor, svagheter, möjligheter och hot). Hur man skapar en attraktiv stad har genomsyrat arbetet och även legat till grund vid utformningen av frågeställningarna. I arbetet har jag använt mig av tre teoretiker som alla talar om hur attraktivitet uppnås. De teoretiker jag använt mig av är Jan Gehl, Jane Jacobs och Gordon Cullen. Det Jacobs och Gehl förespråkar är att specifika fysiska strukturer gynnar möten mellan människor i städer samt mångfald.

AbstractDespite that e-business nowadays is established scepsis against it amongst consumers exists. We, as consumers, suppose that this skepticism is caused by bad communication from the e-business companies. This has lead to our suggestion that some con-sumers refrain from e-business because of bad communication or deficient trust.Our purpose with this paper was to investigate factors of communication between companies and consumers within e-business (B2C) from the consumers? point of view. We thereby have drawn conclusions regarding consumers? choice of e-business company.

From the customer?s perspective the only reason for a firm to exist is the value it creates. However, a problem within manufacturing companies is that of the total lead time, only a small part can be considered as value adding. It has further been discovered that when working with improvements businesses often sub-optimizes single processes instead of considering what benefits the entire company. Thus, when improving processes and activities it is important to have knowledge about and understand which factors that affect how the flow can be designed.Several studies have been performed with a wide perspective on process flows in order to obtain a more resource-efficient and value added flow.

Scania InfoMate develops web applications that support truck distributors and workshops with the necessary tools for an effective maintenance process. However, the end-users of these applications are faced with as many different graphical interfaces as there are applications. As a consequence, important effects of recognition are lost, developers spend unnecessary time designing new solutions for each application and Scania InfoMate does not present a homogeneous brand image towards its customers.Therefore the aim of this study is to give a suggestion of how a standardized graphical interface for web applications at Scania InfoMate should be designed. The given suggestion should come from thorough investigation of both end-user needs and recent research within the area of usability. In addition to a standardized interface this study also aims to deliver guidelines that support future web application development at Scania InfoMate.Through a combination of methods, mainly heuristic evaluation and user interviews, an elaborate description of usability and consistency problems in a defined web application portfolio is produced.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate and discuss the current state of game research and its potential usage in didactic situations. The essay is divided in two parts. Part one consists of an attempt to comment preceding contemporary game research and address possible myths that have been established. Part two aims to discuss games narrative capacity and function in education using the theories and terms laid down by Wolfgang Iser and Gérard Genette.Contemporary game research tends to focus on classic retro games, trying to form theories for a general understanding of the media. This is a useful method as long as the purpose of the study is to define how game mechanics and layout are formed.

These days most companies conduct some form of work for the external environment, quality and safety. In connection with this work, some companies have chosen to get management systems certified by any applicable standard for one or more of the fields while other companies have chosen other ways that are not associated with certification.In light of the fact that the individual systems are becoming unmanageable an increasing number of these companies are faced with the decision whether to integrate and coordinate these different systems or not. In order to study the possibilities of a company?s system coordination an assessment of elements particularly interesting for the company was performed. The key elements and focuses in the evaluation were staff access to information, experiences from other companies and environmental work status for some of the organization's companies.

Syftet med denna kandidatuppsats är att utvärdera Umeå universitetsbiblioteks webbplats urett användarperspektiv. De frågor som ställs i studien är; hur användarna söker informationende har behov av, hur strukturen och logiken på webbplatsen upplevs, vilken informationbesökaren vill ha på webbplatsen samt vad besökarna vill använda webbplatsen till. Utifrånresultaten ges sedan förslag på förbättringar och förändringar inför framtida utveckling avwebbplatsen. Metoden som används i studien är kvalitativa intervjuer i kombination medanvändbarhetstester, med sex studenter vid Umeå universitet.Resultaten visar att webbplatsen enbart är användbar till viss del för studenterna i undersökningen.Detta eftersom webbplatsens minnesstöd (utformad på ett sätt som stödjerstudenternas sätt att tänka och organisera information), effektivitet (hur snabbt och smidigtstudenterna utför uppgifterna för att uppnå sina mål) och misstag (hur många misstagstudenterna gör under sitt besök) utifrån resultaten kan anses som mindre bra. Studenternahade uppenbara problem med navigationen och förståelsen av menyernas uppbyggnad.
