The oral sensory ability in children can be assessed through test of intraoral stereognosis and two-point discrimination. Currently, these two tests are not frequently used in clinical settings, and normative data are not always available. The aim of this study was to establish normative data for these two tests in children aged 5;6 to 7;0 years. Further, intention was to compare the results with respect to age and gender. In total 103 children participated, 49 boys and 54 girls.

My aim in this case study has been to create a method for creature design to test this method in a production and evaluate the results. To achieve this I studied and analyzed the methods of three concept artists and illustrators named James Gurney, Neville Page and Iain McCaig. From the analysis of these artist´s methods, combined with my own personal experience, a new method was formed. To test this method a creature was designed based on directives given by a game design group in the process of creating a table top role playing game in a fictitious world. These directives where given for the creature´s role and its living conditions.

Bakgrund: I Sverige finns det en könsskillnad som visar att flickor mår sämre och har en mer negativ självvärdering jämfört med pojkar. Självbilden är en stark bidragande orsak till barns psykiska hälsa och det finns ett samband mellan barns självbild och attityd till beröring. Metod: Tre enkäter: Jag Tycker Jag Är (JTJÄ), Ben Sira psychological distress (Bspd) och egenformulerade frågor om taktil massage (TM) samlades in bland 93 elever i årskurs sju från en mindre inlandsstad i södra Sverige. Svaren analyserades med oberoende t-test och Pearsons korrelationstest i SPSS 2.0.0. Resultat: Resultatet av ett oberoendet-test visade att det fanns en tendens till könsskillnad i en aspekt avsjälvvärdering (JTJÄ).

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningarSyftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka genom ett test-retest, reliabiliteten hos fem stycken specifika fys- och styrketester för de muskelgrupper, som är mest utsatta i en ambulanssjukvårdares arbete.- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett bellybacktest utan motstånd?- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett balanstest?- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett handstyrketest?- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett aerobiskt steptest?- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett marklyft i dragmaskin?MetodEtt test och retest utfördes på fem tester, bellybacktest utan motstånd, handstyrketest, aerobiskt steptest, marklyft i drargmaskin och balanstest. Försökspersonerna var 14 stycken, 11 män och 3 kvinnor, samtliga var studenter vid GIH i Stockholm.ResultatVarken bellybacktestet utan motstånd, handstyrketestet (höger samt vänster hand), aerobiska steptestet eller marklyftet i dragmaskinen visar några slumpmässiga eller systematiska statistisk signifikanta skillnader. Balanstestet däremot har bra värden på t-testet (p=0,89), som visar att det inte finns några systematiska signifikanta skillnader, men låga värden på övriga uträkningar som visar på de slumpmässiga skillnaderna.SlutsatsSamtliga tester med undantag från balanstestet har hög reliabilitet. Balanstestet visar mindre tillförlitlighet än de övriga fyra testerna, vilket även tidigare forskning visar.

AbstractWe are facing a century of rapid change in climate, with significant challenges in managing the impact of changes in living conditions for plants and animals. We can already see the responses of species through changes in phenology and spatial distribution, which may change ecosystem structure and function, with subsequent effect on ecosystem services and biological diversity. In Sweden, between 2005 and 2010, the red-listed species has increased by 13 % and similar trends can be seen across the world, making it difficult to attain national and international environmental objectives of preserving biodiversity. One way to reduce the loss of biodiversity is to protect nature from exploitation by allocating valuable areas as nature reserves, but climate change affects protected areas just as much as other landscapes and therefore requires elaborate systems of protection to facilitate species' survival. The paper has examined  how the decisions and management plans for nature reserves in Sweden have been followed-up and whether they are climate adapted or not by examining 30 nature reserves, classified as newly formed (2012), recently revised (2009-2011) and older (1977-2007) reserves, and assessed what is in the decisions and management plans for follow-up, revision, long-term goals and documentation.

Earth science is a dynamic system science that explores the structures and processes of the earth. Knowledge about the earth is important for citizens since the science is a vital part in the sustainable development of the society. Without good basic knowledge the citizens don?t have the possibility to anticipate in the questions and decision-making that concerns e.g. anthropogenic climate change. In the Swedish school system earth science is not an independent subject until academically studies at the University?s.

Det här är en studie i om bilder i dataspel kan förändra uppfattningen om antalet ljudsekvenser som spelas upp. Faktorerna som har ändrats i varje test är förhållandena mellan antalet ljudsekvenser och antalet bildobjekt som presenteras. Flera olika ljud skapades till undersökningen, som skiljde sig i karaktär i syfte av att ge mer nyanserade resultat. 20 personer gjorde test där de fick lyssna på ljud med och utan koppling till bilder. De blev sedan tillfrågade hur många ljudkällor de kunde höra.

AimThe aim of this study was to develop and perform a reliability test of a questionnaire regarding side dominance in order to identify the dominant/non-dominant side in students at the Swedish alpine ski high school.MethodA questionnaire of side dominance of the upper and lower extremity was developed, and its reliability was tested according to the test-retest design. A total of 121 subjects answered the questionnaire twice. The questionnaire included five questions about side dominance, i.e. what hand/arm or foot/leg (left /right) that one prefers to use as a first choice when writing, throwing, kicking a ball, jumping over a fence and stair climbing. Furthermore, there was a question whether the responder has a safer/better ski turn to the left or to the right.

The focus of this thesis is primarily in electronic construction and describes the design process for a microcontroller circuit board from concept development to prototyping. The client develops test fixtures for automated testing of products within the electronics industry and needs a new controller circuit for the test fixtures that can handle controls and basic testing. An investigation into the needs of such a system is conducted and a prototype printed circuit board assembly is manufactured.The prototype is developed with focus on protection against electrostatic discharges and overvoltage. Among the functions that are included are voltage measurements, communication interfaces and control of input and output currents. Firmware for the prototype is developed and configured to communicate with a PC through USB interface for control and collecting of measurements..

ABSTRAKT  Syfte: Detta arbete har haft två syften:1) Att skapa en ökad förståelse för hur en organisationsövergripande konsekvensanalys kan inverka på förändringsprocessers utfall.samt2) Att inleda utvecklingen av ett pedagogiskt verktyg för att genomföra konsekvensanalys i förändringsprocesser samt genomföra ett inledande test av detta verktyg.Metod: Detta arbete är en kvalitativ fallstudie. Efter en inledande litteraturstudie har metoden för datainsamling varit kvalitativa intervjuer av såväl ostrukturerad som semi-strukturerad karaktär. Vid analysen av insamlad data har tillämpats ett hermeneutiskt synsätt.Resultat & slutsats: Den i undersökningen genomförda konsekvensanalysen visar tydligt hur en konsekvensanalys kan förändra underlaget för beslut, planering och implementering av förändring i organisationer. Grund för konsekvensanalysens betydelse har således funnits i såväl teori som empiri. Testet av verktyget visade att de fokusområden som tagits fram upplevdes som relevanta i undersökningsföretagets kontext.

The aim of this study is to find out in which way the education about climate in school is taught and how the students experience the world situation today. There are various theories about the greenhouse effect and its origin and these theories should be addressed to ensure that students get a broader understanding of how climate change occurs. This includes the natural phenomena and also the human impact on climate change. Students in school are a source of concern that only human are the cause of global warming, and know little or almost nothing about the natural phenomena of global warming.  I will mention what has emphasized in the national steering documents in the case of environmental education at school.I have used a qualitative method, where interviews and document analysis were used as techniques. Democracy is said to uphold the dearest values and be the most moral system. But it cannot be characterized as a rigid "syste" but a continuously changing political framework, under which aims and values can be fulfilled - and replaced.The increasingly diverse and ever-changing environment of contemporary democracies forces change upon the systems' natural evolution, which makes their future features uncertain and unforeseeable. A powerful change-force doctrine does however claim change is mainly (or merely) caused by the power of ideas; the elite power over ideas can thus provide a natural foundation for the analysis of the direction of development for democracy. This study aims to provide such a foundation by reconstructing empirical and normative descriptions of democracy at two certain points in time, following extensive government studies.As a tool for analysis, this study identifies values of substantial and procedural character central to democracy theory and discourse. It further creates ideal types of democracy based on these values, to which the nature of democracy is measured.

In this thesis I will propose and test a pipeline for creating in-game animations using motion capture technology, with the aim to export to a 3D game engine, such as UDK or similar. Even though there are already established pipelines for creating in-game animations in the game industry, they are not of public knowledge and dissemination of information is hindered by the severe NDA (non-disclosure agreements) imposed on the studios and artists. I will therefore use my experience with game production and as a student, to research and propose an optimal pipeline for developing in-game animation that may be used by other students, researchers and independent game developers. The methodology used to test the pipeline will be a case study based on the student project Synergy, which I am developing with other third year students also attending the Game design Education at Gotland University..
