By examine plastic craniums from eight different hominids I wanted to find morfological characteristics that agreed with those of modern humans. The species that were selected had a plastic casting of its cranium in the laboratory at Gotland University. My focus was on species from the family Australopithecius and Homo and only working with their craniums. And this because the cranium and the theeth shows the most visible morfological characteristics between the different hominids. I also wanted,in a small part of the essay, to write about the differences in now living primates and humans skulls.Except from analysing the plastic castings I also studied surveys written by other scientist on the same subject.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka om slöjdlärarnas olika utbildningar spelar roll för samarbetet inom slöjdens mjuka och hårda material och hur ett sådant arbetsätt kan se ut. Undersökningen har även försökt få svar på om eleverna blir mer motiverade av ett arbetsätt där materialen blandas. Dessutom har arbetet handlat om att ta reda på om det finns ytterligare faktorer som spelar roll för samarbetet inom ämnet slöjd. Genom studier av tidigare kursplaner för ämnet i skolan och för slöjdlärarutbildningar har jag fått en historisk tillbaka blick för vad som ingått i både slöjdlärarutbildningar och i undervisning för eleverna i skolan. I mitt sökande efter svar har 8 slöjdlärare intervjuats som läst mot både tidigare och nuvarande läroplan för grundskolan och som har examen från utbildning med behörighet i ett eller båda materialen.

When drivers overnight in the truck lots of electric energy is consumed by heaters, fans, lights and other extra equipment. If the engine is not running, this energy is taken from the lead/acid batteries of the truck which then needs to be recharged during operating hours. The fact that the charge acceptance of the lead/acid batteries is dependent on the temperature makes it hard to fully recharge the batteries at lower temperatures. A negative charge balance can lead to starting problems within a few days use in cold climate.In this thesis work, the effects of different battery charging concept are evaluated on the most common Scania battery (175Ah). A battery model is implemented in Matlab and some simulations of charging are made.

The aim of this study has been to analyze how society is constructed in the workbook Möte med människor från andra kulturer, a popular material within the ?cultural competency? industry. The analysis has largely been carried out from the perspective of a pedagogy against oppression as it has been outlined by Kevin Kumashiro. I have found that the material combines discursive movements, which in complex and hybrid ways deconstruct, decenter, recenter and reproduce stereotypes and norms, through its normative language and pedagogy. A language constructing culture as cleanly demarcated, static and homogenous.

Svenska Aerogel AB has developed the material Quartzene® which is of the typeprecipitated silica and contains calcium - magnesium silicate ((Ca, Mg) SiO3). Thematerial is used for molecular filtration of contaminated air. Qartzene?, which is inpellet form, is porous and has a high internal surface which is a requirement for themolecular filtration. With the use of various impregnations, filtration can affect thedesired outcome.

With a new digital world that runs parallel with our physical one, we are also facing a new type of architecture and new materials that this new architecture is built on. In this thesis I examine pixels and vectors, two of the digital materials used to create pictures. By approaching them as digital materials, I have mapped their different qualities, when and where one or the other is more or less applicable and the reason behind it. My main research question asked was the following: Are the (digital) materials challenged outside their primary fields of application, and in that case, in which way? With this question in mind, I carried out a semiotic picture analysis on four pictures, later on dividing them into four different categories, based on their different qualities and their ability to deliver information.

During my practical training period I observed that many of the students have a negative attitude against mathematics. I also observed that these students have a difficulty reaching the goals in the subject. In my opinion there are different factors that can be the reason to why these students experiences mathematics as a difficult subject in school. This is the reason why I wanted to find out which factors that lies behind the difficulties and how the pedagogues work to support these students. It is also significant that every single student get their rights to develop a positive attitude against mathematics and that the pedagogue supports the students in their development.The point with this degree project is to find out, with the help of three pedagogues, which factors that could lead to difficulties in mathematics with students.

Syftet med rapporten är att utvärdera och jämföra två standarder, AATCC Test method 198-2011: Horizontal Wicking of Textiles och AATCC Test method 197-2011: Vertical Wicking of Textiles. Standarderna publicerades år 2011 av American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists. Standarderna mäter wicking, det vill säga, med vilken hastighet som vätska transporteras genom textil, med en horisontell och en vertikal testmetod. Hastigheten anges i olika enheter beroende på standard, enheten för AATCC Test method 197-2011: Vertical Wicking of Textiles är mm/s och AATCC Test method 198-2011: Horizontal Wicking of Textiles anges i mm2/s. Skillnaden i enhet och mätmetod innebär att standarderna inte kan jämföras rakt av genom resultat och mätvärden mellan de båda standarderna.

In this study we have analysed from an intersectional perspective two textbooks Historia 1b and Progress Gold A which are purposed to be used as teaching material in Swedish schools in the subjects of History and English. Our question and reason for doing the analysis is to emphasise and make the variety of women in the books visible in order to compare that variety to the one that is demanded by the Swedish curriculum. The analysis is made from an ideology critical perspective and contains quantitative elements. Our conclusion is that the material contains both excluding and including features. Some intersectional categories are well represented while others, like functionality and religion, are not.

Vår projektredogörelse handlar om utarbetandet av ett material för läs- och skrivinlärning. Vi har ställt oss frågan; Hur skapar man ett undervisningsmaterial för läs och skrivinlärning som med hjälp av det vidgade textbegreppet kan fånga eleverna och fasthålla intresset/motivationen att lära? Vi kom snabbt fram till att materialet, om det ska ha dessa kvalitéer måste utgå från elever. Vi har därför pratat med en grupp om tio elever för att få veta mer om deras fritidsintressen. Dessa har vi sedan vävt in i vårt material som vi döpt till Cirkusäventyret. Materialet består av tre övergripande rubriker som är drama, musik och bild, dessa resulterade sedan i ett väggalfabet, bok med tillhörande dramakort, sång och sandpapperbokstäver.

Company X develops a laboratory information system (LIS) called System Y. The informationsystem has a two-tier database architecture consisting of a production database and a historicaldatabase. A database constitutes the backbone of a IS, which makes the design of the databasevery important. A poorly designed database can cause major problems within an organization.The two databases in System Y are poorly modeled, particularly the historical database. Thecause of the poor modeling was unclear concepts.

In some cases there are no methods to identify raw material which are included in dietary supplements such as tablets. The identification can be done with TLC. A general method description was developed using the raw material gotukola and appel cider vinegar. This includes processing to achieve higher concentration of the active ingredient if needed; evaluation of solubility agents to dissolve the active substance; evaluation of mobile and stationary phase and visualization of the stationary phase. : I denna rapport har det gjorts en undersökning om vilket som är det mest lämpliga materialet/ materialen för en handske till formel 1 bilförare. Genom kvalitativa intervjuer och informationsundersökning har en kravspecifikation sammanställts med de viktigaste kraven, som förare och regelverket ställer. Reglerna är angivna i standarder till handskar för formel 1 bilförare. ! En rad olika tester har gjorts och genom det har frågeformuleringarna besvarats. De material som testades var Nomex®, Kevlar®, Trevira CS® och Nomex® III.

The aim of this research is to do a comparison between students? view of equality in secondary school and in gymnasium. The research begins with four focus groups, two on each grade to conduct material. The focus groups with girls and boys were separated from each other. With help from the researcher, acting as a moderator in the focus groups, the students have discussed advertisement and what message it convey.

En snabb överblick av räkenskapsmaterial från en samling svenska nötköttsproducenter uppsamlat i projektet Agribeef ger en bild av en näring med bristande lönsamhet. Den svenska nötköttsproduktionen generellt har lönsamhetsproblem.Inom ramen för projektet Agribeef har material samlats in från gårdar runtom i landet. Detta material utgör underlag för denna studie. Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera detta material och söka efter enskilda lönsamhetsfaktorer som uppvisar korrelation med lönsamhet.Genom en korrelationsanalys jämfördes utvalda faktorer. Resultatet blev att det för ungnötsproducenterna visade sig vara kostnaden för byggnader som hade starkast samband med lönsamheten.
