Return handling is often regarded as a slow and complex process. Studies have shown that it is not unusual for a return to cost up to nine times as much as a standard outbound delivery. An efficient return handling process is therefore essential to all competitive companies dealing with logistics. This report investigates, analyzes and gives suggestions on development with the purpose to improve the return handling process at LensLogistics AB in Kista, north of Stockholm, Sweden. The study has been conducted from a deliberately practical point of view in order to suggest improvement suggestions possible to implement and thereby change the entire return handling process.

?Statistical Process Control? har för syfte att genom av statistiska metoder, mäta och analysera variation för att upptäcka särskilda orsaker till variation i processen och sedan genom eliminering av de orsakerna, förbättra processens kapabilitet.Inom SPC finns några begrepp som kräver lite förståelse, till exempel olika typer av variation, skapandet av styrdiagram och tolkning av detsamma för att hitta särskilda variationer. Till författarens kännedom finns idag inget spel som på ett enkelt och konkret sätt underlättar förståelse av dessa teorier.Inom område ?Lean Produktion? finns ett spel (?Lean-spelet?) som har för syfte att förklara begreppet slöseri, olika typer av slöseri i produktionsprocessen och hur man kan förbättra produktionen genom eliminering av de olika slöserierna inom produktionsprocessen. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att se på möjligheterna till ett liknande spel för SPC.Utgångspunkten för skapande av sådant spel var design av en monteringsprocess som färdiggör en produkt (i detta fall en traktor).

In the year 2002 a commission wasappointed by the government and taskedto clear up possible flaws in the lawgoverning spatial planning (Plan ochbygglagen, PBL). The commission's reportlaid the foundations for a new law whichwas adopted by the Swedish parliament onthe 20th of June 2010 and is scheduledto come into effect on the 2nd of May2011.The purpose of this thesis has been toexamine the changes made in the new law,primarily from a civil-rights point ofview, focusing on the appeal process.This is a highly interesting subjectconsidering one reason behind the newlaw was to simplify and streamline theplanning process while keeping civilrights intact.Through a comprehensive literature studyand interviews with experts the currentplanning process was mapped out andrelevant changes in the new law wereexamined. After the study had beenconcluded we were able to distinguishseveral areas that underwent especiallyinteresting changes;The requirement of a plan program wasremoved and the exhibition process wasremoved and replaced by a writtenreview. Individuals were given thepossibility of requesting a plan notice.The different spatial plan documentswere merged into one single document andthe number of responsible authoritiesfor spatial plans is no longer limitedto one.The study has shown that the aspirationfor a more effective spatial planningprocess has mostly been conducted at theexpense of individual rights.The single biggest obstacle forachieving a democratic planning processis learning how the law works and howthe spatial planning process isimplemented, this is has been proven tobe a very hard and time consuming taskfor individuals to undertake..

The curriculum of the Swedish school system explains how the transitions between the preschool class and the pre-school should be. The co-operation between the organisations should aim for a long term perspective with the students learning process in mind (Lgr11).The pre-school has almost the same aim in their curriculum, as the curriculum of the Swedish school system.The aim with my study is to examine how the teachers from the different organizations relate to knowledge and how they look at the students social interactions. Also how the transition between the pre-school and the pre-school class is viewed from their point of view. How do the teachers from the different organisations comprehend knowledge?How do the teachers from the different organisations comprehend the social abilities?How do the teachers from the different organisations work and interact in terms of the transition between the pre-school and the pre-school class?The study that has been made is about the transitions between the pre-school and the pre-school class. It´s been investigated by doing interviews with teachers from both the pre-school and the pre-school class.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att utifrån studerandes perspektiv, skaffa vetskap om hur kunskap blir meningsfull för den distansstuderande under lärandeprocessen. Denna undersökning är en kvalitativ studie som består av fyra intervjuer med två kvinnor och två män, personer som studerar eller har nyligen studerat på distans. En av intervjuerna genomfördes över datorkommunikation och resterande genomfördes enskilt med personerna. De personliga intervjuerna spelades in med hjälp av bandspelare för att kunna ägna respondenterna största möjliga uppmärksamhet. Under intervjuerna användes en intervjuguide med några huvud-frågor och ett antal stödfrågor.

Uppdraget gick ut på att utveckla ett koncept åt företaget Emstone ABs hydrauliskaspräckkapslar, som i dagsläget inte har kommit ut på marknaden. Denna produktspräcker berg genom hydraultryck och riktad spräckverkan. Den ses som ett ekologiskhållbart alternativ till den traditionella sprängningen med dynamit. Eftersom dennateknik är så pass ny finns i dagsläget ingen konstruktion som enkelt kan transporterakapslar med en hand. Denna rapport bidrar till att redogöra för och analyserakonstruktionen av en ställning som lätt och smidigt kan transportera 6 kapslar med enhand.

I denna kvalitativa studie intervjuades tre kvinnor som lämnat relationer där de utsattes förvåld. Syftet med studien var att få en fördjupad kunskap kring kvinnornas känslomässigaprocess kring relationen där de utsatts för våld med fokus på ilskan. Frågeställningen var omdet kan finnas en positiv kraft i ilskan som hjälper kvinnorna i relationen ochuppbrottsprocessen. Studien kopplades till ilskans funktion utifrån affektteori.De tre kvinnorna i studien berättade om relationer som präglats av våld. De beskrev sinakänslor och reaktioner under relationen, i separationsprocessen och utvecklingen efterseparationen.

How these investment processes operates depends totally on the type and size of the current investment, which unit that is operating the processes and what situation the bank currently finds itself in. This master?s thesis was performed during the fall of 2006 at Cloetta Fazer AB in Ljungsbro. Cloetta Fazer is the market leader in Scandinavia of manufacturing confectionary and chocolates. The purpose of the project has been to identify causes that impact the quantity of waste in production as well as a cost/benefit analysis of the solutions that can reduce the problem of production waste.The work includes four production lines that are individually designed depending on what kind of product that are produced on the line. By using qualitative and quantitative methods such as focus groups, interviews and observations data has been collected.

The goal with this essay is to investigate problems in processes of a government agency andthereby determine whether a Business Process Reengineering can create a more effectiveworkflow. The foundation of this essay lies in how customers perceive its business processesas reported from Internet forums. By adopting a qualitative approach, this is supplemented bythe statements and reports from the public business. The qualitative method that has been usedin this study is a content analysis of the threads from two major Internet forums that highlightthe problems associated with the examination of firearms licensing and the routine that exists.The method also gave us the opportunity to study the public business own view of theirprocesses. This was done by exploring their statements in media and their own reports aboutthis area.This essay is the result of a case-based study and during the course of the study we haveidentified five themes related to; time, management, communication, competence, andregulations.

The study explores the process in which individuals? attempt to end their criminal career, focusing on the interplay between path of life, choices, and conditions. The method is qualitative, and the empirical material consists of interviews with four young adults that all have experience of criminality.

Varje dag stöter vi på förpackningar av olika slag. För många personer är öppnandet av dessa förpackningar ett svårt moment, då det krävs en viss grad av handstyrka för att klara av det. Nedsatt handstyrka kan bero på skador eller sjukdomar, som exempelvis Parkinsons sjukdom, fingerledsartros och ledgångsreumatism. Åldrandet har också en negativ påverkan på handens styrka och funktion. Ett exempel på svåröppnade förpackningar är de med skruvkork av plast.

Kunskap är idag ett maktvapen för företag i den hårda konkurrenssituation som råder på många marknader. Den kunskap som är svårast att överföra mellan medarbetare är den kunskap som benämns som tyst, eftersom denna kunskap inte går att formulera och föra in i manualer och rapporter.För att undersöka denna problematik har vi gjort en kvalitativ undersökning genom att intervjua respondenter på Phadia AB:s produktutvecklingsavdelning. Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka om, och i så fall hur, produktutvecklingsavdelningen på Phadia AB överför sin tysta kunskap mellan medarbetarna. Vi kom fram till att produktutvecklingsavdelningen har valt flera olika sätt för att underlätta den tysta kunskapsöverföringen.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of streamlining the test process by utilizing pair programming. During the process, pair programming has been practiced as is defined by the Extreme programming (XP) software development methodology, with the other aspects of XP discarded. The focus of the testing itself has been toward unit testing. The methods applied has been with an experimental approach where 93 cases were attempted to be solved by either single programmers or pair programmers. What has been investigated in these experiments was the time needed to complete a case, how many test attempts were needed to solve the case, and how high a percentage of the cases were solved.
