The purpose of this thesis was to analyze conception and foaling results of Swedish warmblood and Standardbred trotters using breeding statistics during the years 2000-2006. Key issues in this thesis were: Have the conception and foaling results of stallions changed during the period 2000-2006? What is the effect of the use of various breeding methods? Is testicle size correlated with conception and foaling results? How important are age, breed and level of inbreeding of the stallion for conception and foaling results? Breeding statistics were available for 537 Swedish Warmblood stallions and 305 Standardbred trotter stallions. To be included in the analyses, a stallion must have mated at least ten mares in total over the period 2000-2006. This criterion was met by 313 Swedish Warmblood stallions and 272 Standardbred trotter stallions.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to test for the existence of Capital Structure Arbitrage oppertunities in the equity-credit markets. Methodology: The mispricing of Credit Default Swap contracts are calculated and used as input in an Equity-Credit market trading strategy. The returns are then evaluated with a modified Value-at-Risk simulation. Theoretical perspectives: A Merton-based structural model, CreditGrades, is used for credit pricing and a mispricing-convergence trading-strategy between the credit and equity markets is implemented. Empirical foundation: Daily quotes for the Credit Default Swap spread of 37 European firms were collected for a period of two years, as well as equity-prices for the same period and the previous two years, used for model calibration.

Vår uppsats är gjord utifrån kritisk diskursanalys (CDA) och syftar till att undersöka hur den kvinnliga identiteten skapas genom det språkbruk och de diskursiva praktiker som används av tidningen Egoboost Magazine. Det empiriska material som uppsatsen bygger på är ledarsidorna ur åtta nummer av tidningen. I uppsatsen så granskar vi hur tidningen på ledarsidan, via språkbruk och bilder, gestaltar kvinnan och hur de genom denna gestaltning bygger upp en kvinnlig identitet. Studien är grundad i Yvonne Hirdmans (2003) genuskontrakt och identitetssynen som vi funnit finns inom både diskursteori och genusteori..

Följande studie är en personalvetenskaplig uppsats som behandlar projektdiskurser med fokuspå PMI och den skandinaviska forskningen. Syftet är att genom diskursanalys undersöka hurden vedertagna PMI-baserade uppfattningen av projektarbetsformen konstrueras och uttrycksi text.Uppsatsens teori bygger på diskursteori, som är en diskursanalytisk inriktning som användsför att studera språk och text. Analysen utgår från ord (tecken) och hur dessa positionerar sig iförhållande till andra tecken. Vårt analytiska fokus ligger på hur en diskurs konstrueras, påvad som stängs ute och hur detta sker genom språket. I studien presenteras kritisk forskningsom ger en mer nyanserad bild av projekt än den som generellt sprids genom populärprojektledningslitteratur, för att belysa en alternativ projektdiskurs.Detta är en kvalitativ studie med diskursanalys som metod.

I denna studie görs en kritisk diskursanalys av hur slöjan framställs och artikuleras i media. Bilden av slöjan är starkt påverkad av den muslimsk-islamistiska kultur som den är nära förknippad med och därför kan tidigare forskning kring postkolonialism och Orientalism relateras till materialet. Genom den postkoloniala diskursordningen återges en stereotyp skildring av den slöjade kvinnan som traditionell, kuvad och förtryckt. Men slöjan sätts även in i en annan kontext där den fungerar som en protestaktion i ett segregerat och uteslutande västerländskt samhälle..

The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to create a product in the form of a database that can be used for cost estimates of equipment within bio refineries. Through interviews and literature searches the key components and their costs were identified. The database was constructed in Microsoft Excel with different tabs for different categories of components; these tabs are further divided into three parts: one part with costs, one part with calculations and an information part. Most of the part with costs contains the expenses found in scientific papers during the literature study, the calculating part converts different capacities according to user preferences and the currency to euro (?) from 2010 and the information part consists of references and information about what is included in the cost.The database is a good tool for making cost estimates for bio refineries.

Läroplanen för grundskolan och förskoleklassen menar att det är viktigt att eleverna förhåller sig kritisk till fakta och lär sig inse att olika val medför konsekvenser. Gunilla Svingby anser att kritiskt tänkande bör genomsyra all undervisning i skolan vilket författarna i detta arbete håller med om. Kritiskt tänkande bör inte isoleras till enbart källkritik utan skall ses som en viktig del i undervisningen för att tillägna sig viktig kunskap för framtiden. Trots att författarna sökt med ljus och lykta har dessa funnit näst intill ingen forskning alls som belyser lärares arbetssätt och hur man kan arbeta för att vidareutveckla detta hos elever. Det kan tyckas som att ämnet är högaktuellt i samhället och det kan tyckas att det är av stor vikt att uppmärksamma detta i ett examensarbete.

An effective Integration policy is important in Sweden while our government has decided and committed to be a country where everybody will be given the same opportunities. There is a greater awareness in today?s society of integration policy goals such as equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities for all. In a number of areas, however, the disparities between immigrants and Swedish-born citizens are still too large.The Swedish Riksdag decided on integration policy in 1997. The main task for this thesis will be to examine the motive behind the Government's decision to revoke immigrations policy and introduce integration policy.

This paper examines the texts written on shards from wine-jars found at El-Amarna, Tutankhamuns tomb (KV 62) and Deir el-Medina. Information concerning the administration of wine and its production, found in these texts, is examined. Wine was an important element in Egyptian society and a common iconographic motif in tombs at Thebes during New Kingdom.A survey on previous research on the subject is presented. This is followed by analysis of the different reoccurring elements found in the texts. A definition of the standard formulation of the wine jar label texts is given and the minimal level of information needed for the administration of wine production and distribution is identified. The chapter of the analysis deals with the various types of information given in the label texts, such as date, wine classification, and function.

Syften med denna uppsats är att studera vilka normer och värderingar som ligger till grund för rekonstruktionen av Afghanistans regeringsinstitutioner, samt vilka strukturer som gör att dessa normer är de hegemoniska globalt. I mitt analysarbete har jag framförallt använt mig av Norman Faircloughs textnära kritiska diskursanalys och ?Världssamhällemodellen?, där begrepp såsom legitimitet och hegemoni står i fokus. Som analysunderlag ligger ?Afghan Bonn Agreement? samt tre resolutioner från Förenta Nationernas (FN) Generalförsamling.Det finns idag tydliga normer som styr vad som anses vara ett legitimt styrelseskick.

This is a study that will focus on the possibility to learn information about a town and its inhabitants of the 18th century by analyzing individual titles in the church records. The records that are used in this study are marriage registration administrated by the local church of the town of Uddevalla. The records are very detailed and each individual registered have a title, such as ?tradesman? or ?maiden?. Since the source are a registration of all the weddings that took place during the period of 1700 to 1749, the source gives very broad and valid information about the inhabitants of the town.

Introduction: Anxiety and depression are common among patients enrolled in psychiatric outpatient care. Ear Acupuncture is an alternative form of treatment that has been shown to relieve anxiety and depression in previous studies.Aim: To evaluate ear acupuncture as a group treatment for depression and anxietyMethod: A psychiatric outpatient clinic has been offering group treatments with ear acupuncture for anxiety and depression for 5 weeks. Participants of the study have answered self-rating scales Montgomery Åsberg Depression Rating Scale, Beck Anxiety Inventory and Sheehan Disability scale before and after the treatment period. Material was collected in the period 2008-2012 and has been analyzed in SPSS.Results: Data from 31 patients were included in the study. The results from the study showed a significant difference, between the measurements before and after treatment, with a reduction of the average values in the three different scales.Summary: From this study, it is difficult to draw any conclusions about the effect of ear acupuncture.

This paper deals with variations in the osteological material of dog (Canis familiaris L.) from the Mesolithic Scania, southern Sweden. The general aim is to discuss the use and specialisation of dog during the period, and differences or relations between cultures and traditions within the Mesolithic period. The study is based on a analysis of the bone material from the sites; Ageröd I:A-D, Ageröd I:H-C, Bredasten, Bökeberg III, Hög, Löddesborg, Ringsjöholm, Segebro, Sjöholmen, Skateholm I-II and Tågerup, phase 1-3, with datings from Late Maglemose Culture to Early Ertebølle Culture. The seminar paper also includes descriptive statistics of the osteometrical data of Denmark, from several studies of Degerbøhl (1927) and Noe-Nygaard (1995, 2003). The study is focused on the relation between size, robusticity, muscle grooves and ligaments of mandibula, tibia, radius, humerus, femur and metacarpalia/metatarsalia.

My aim of this investigation has been to study Delacroix relation to the Orient, based on a number of key questions:What was specific for Delacroix oriental works?How did his oriental painting change and mature over time?How was Delacroix relation to the oriental discourse?The paper is divided into three parts: the time before his trip to Morocco in 1832, the trip to Morocco and the period after Morocco.Although many have wanted to see Delacroix as a revolutionary, he worked the whole time within, and dialogue with, the classical tradition. In Delacroix quest for renewal of history painting, the oriental works play an important role. In the period before his trip to Morocco the literary sources dominated. He constructed his own Orient in his studio.It is clear that Delacroix did not stood outside the oriental discourse.
