The final stage of a designers work is always a bit tricky. Design is an abstract phenomenon and no one can tell when a design is really finished. The design process that designers work within has been thoroughly studied but cannot be truly mapped with strict constraints which the designer can follow to succeed. Therefore, in this paper we take a look at the final stage in the design process. The main goal is to get more knowledge and highlight key factors about what designers face when they are about finish their design or what forces them to leave a project that can stay in development for eternity.

I work on a lighting design for a dance performance to be on tour. A lighting design adapted for three different conditions was made: - One comprehensive where I allow myself a great deal of creative freedom, adapted for the stages with major technical conditions. - One smaller version for stages with less equipment and with less time for preparation on site. - One design for very simple conditions. I also examine the specific differences between typical theatrical lighting design and typical dance lighting design, and the best way to prepare for the hands-on stage design phase..

A design methodology to mitigate timing problems due to long wire delays is proposed. The timing problems are taking care of at architecture level instead of layout level in this design method so that no change is needed when the whole design goes to backend design. Hence design iterations are avoided by using this design methodology. The proposed design method is based on STARI architecture, and a novel initialization mechanism is proposed in this paper. Low frequency global clock is used to synchronize the communication and PLLs are used to provide high frequency working clocks.

This thesis introduces Kongjian Yu?s design approach in terms of industrial heritage conservation in connection to transformation and urban design. The approach is examined respectively on two cases from China and USA. The thesis give a brief introduction to current achievement in conservation research and general profile of industrial conservation practice. Based on case and theory study, Yu?s design approach is carefully applied to an industrial area Nyhamnen in Malmö and a design proposal is produced.

I denna uppsats undersöker jag hur språkrekommendationerna i Språkrådets frågelåda legitimeras och vad läsaren måste acceptera som sant för att rekommendationerna ska vara rimliga. Det är en kritisk diskursanalys som ser makt som socialt sammansatt. Jag använder metoderna legitimeringsanalys och presuppositionsanalys.Resultatet visar att frågelådan legitimerar jämställdhet, språksystemet, språkbrukarna, och tydlighet som det som har eller borde ha makt över språket.Slutsatsen är att Språkrådet aldrig själva tappar sin egen makt, även när de legitimerar andra som makthavare i en viss fråga..

Service Design is a relatively new, unexplored and exciting phenomenon that through an interdisciplinary work methodology designs services. A discussion has been going on for a long time regarding whether there is a difference between products and services. Services are often classified as immaterial, heterogeneous, non-storable and inseparable in relation to products. A question that arises is if something specific characterises the work methodology used regarding service design. The aim with this paper is thus to explain the work methodology when working with service design.

A current issue today is to try to implement creative design as a way to solve wicked problems in scientific contexts such as HCI. Since the problems are wicked, they have no given solution which makes the traditional methods inadequate. In these cases, creative design can be an alternative. Creative design is not used in scientific contexts because it is viewed as something unaccountable.In this essay we argue that creative design not necessarily have to be unaccounted. We discuss various views of creative design and translate theory to a practical context.

This paper deals with the difficulties of applying user-centered design practices as an independent developer, based on the visualization of a game concept in the form of a prototype. The aim is to evaluate the usability of user-centered design practices, specifically in the field of games development. Throughout this paper, I will give an account of the methods used for testing, as well as a review of previous research done in this field of study. Den här studien undersöker hur faktorerna etnicitet, genus, funktionsförmåga, generation/ålder och klass ur ett intersektionellt perspektiv skapas, rekonstrueras och samspelar i läslärorna Den magiska kulan och Briljant svenska. Studien har genomförts med hjälp av en kritisk diskusanalys enligt Faircloughs tredimensionella modell och är uppdelad i två delstudier. Syftet är att se hur dessa faktorer skildras samt undersöka samspelet mellan dessa. Vidare diskuterar studien vilka normer och värderingar som kan tänkas förmedlas i och med användandet av de aktuella läslärorna. Studien visar att böckerna skapar och upprätthåller en gräns mellan minoritet och majoritet, där majoriteten tillskrivs en överordnad roll. .

The background to this study is the government’s investment in design and the increase of design education around the country. As a future design teacher (industrialdesign) at high school/college, it is of great interest for me to look closer at student’s attitude towards design and design educations at high school.Questions that have been investigated are student´s attitude towards design; design as a concept but also as a phenomenon. How does the student counselor inform the students of the differentchoices before choosing high school?Does the students view on design correspond to what the student counselor say?What opinion does the student counselor have to the concept design as well as design in highschool? Is design just a craze or here to stay?To get answers I have made interviews with student counselors at two different schools, I have also been in contact with a student counselor on the internet. Their thoughts will clarify thesituation that the students might be in.

Den här studien undersöker med ett Kritisk diskursanalytiskt förhållningssätt ett urval av skilda ledareartiklars kommentarer av Europa parlamentsvalets resultat år 2004. Med ?kommentera? avses det, vilka diskurser de konstruerar ifråga till denna händelse. Min studie inriktar sig även på att försöka besvara om ledareartiklarna anser att parlamentsvalet var demokratiskt legitimt ur ett demokratiskt perspektiv när det var en minoritet av de svenska samt de europeiska medborgarna som valde att utnyttja sin rösträtt. Jag intresserar mig även för de svar/orsaker ledareartiklarna anger till varför ett så fåtal avväljarna använde dennes rösträtt..

I media ligger stort fokus på kropp och hälsa. Under det senaste årtiondet har flera hälsorelaterade tv-produktioner sänts i svenska kanaler. En av dessa är Toppform på Sveriges Television. Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att ta reda på vad tv-programmet Toppform menar med hälsa. Genom en kritisk diskursanalys tolkar jag vika diskurser som är dominerande i programmet och om Toppform förändrar eller reproducerar den dominerande diskursordningen.

Titel: Genus, skolan och barnet - En kritisk diskursanalys Författare: Maria Henningsson och Annika Olsson Detta arbete är en kritisk diskursanalys med fokus på talet om kön och genus, i förskolan och skolan. Syftet är att finna mönster, om det önskvärda respektive icke önskvärda barnet, som framträder i utvalda texter inom genusforskningen och genuspedagogiken. Relaterat till detta vill vi även närmare undersöka vilka föreställningar verksamma pedagoger har om genuspedagogik. De centrala frågeställningarna är: Vilka normativa föreställningar, såväl traditionella som nyare könsroller, framträder inom genusforskningen och genuspedagogiken? samt: Vad anses som önskvärda respektive icke önskvärda egenskaper hos barnet? Arbetet bygger på kvalitativa metoder i form av intervjuer och kritisk diskursanalys där metod och teori tillsammans hänger ihop.
