This report describes the development of a system for controlling documents. The report starts with a problem description which the company wants an intranet-based solution for. The report then continues to describe the development phase for the different parts of the system which results in a complete system. The company that wanted this system is called Orbit One and is located in Ronneby, Sweden. They have had a problem with old documents circulating in different versions and in different binders.

Detta arbete tar upp och beskriver fyra olika nätverksarkitekturer, med deras för och nackdelar gentemot varandra. Detta för att ge en insikt och förståelse till vilken arkitektur som bäst passar ihop med olika applikationer/system, detta för att förenkla och ge signaler på vilken arkitektur olika applikationer bör byggas upp kring i ett systemutvecklings projekt. De undersökta nätverksarkitekturerna varierar väldigt gentemot varandra, gällande ålder och användningsområde. Client/Server som är den första arkitekturen och ligger lite som grund för de övriga är dels komplext att administrera och dels kan även vara svårt för ovana datoranvändare att lära sig, då det finns så många olika funktioner att lära sig i respektive applikation, men erbjuder körning av komplexa applikationer över nätverket. För att få bukt med användarvänligheten och arbetsinsatserna vid administreringen kom det statiska intranätet som ett alternativ.

När man lever i ett samhälle där användandet av mobila enheter som smartphones ökar, sker motsvarande ökning av frågan på tillgång till befintliga system i mobila enheter. Ett mobilt system kan utvecklas på olika sätt beroende på efterfrågan och kunskapsbasen hos utvecklarna. Det finns olika sorters mobila system, däribland webbaserade och plattformsspecifika system.Den här rapporten innehåller en förstudie för olika tillvägagångssätt för att skapa en mobil version av ett system. Rapporten redogör för olika tekniker som kan användas beroende på vilket system som önskas överföras, samt vilken målgruppen är. This thesis examines if commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) systems meet the needs in different types of organizations. This was investigated through a case study of a COTS system. The system is built for contact centers and used in different types of organizations. Contextual inquiries with users from six different organizations were held together with interviews with stakeholders of the system. This gave an understanding for how the system is used and the needs to be met in the different organizations were recognized.

Alla som utvecklar mjukvarusystem har ett gemensamt mål, att spara tid och pengar samtidigt som man vill utveckla system som har hög kvalitet. Kvalitet hos mjukvara hänger starkt ihop med validering och verifiering av mjukvaran. Vanligtvis validerar och verifierar man mjukva-ran genom att testa den. Testning upptar därför en stor del av systemutvecklingsresurserna. En arbetsam uppgift i sammanhanget är regressionstester eftersom de ofta kräver stora insatser i form av arbete och tid och dessutom kan innebära risker i systemutvecklingen.

As part of an internship at Ericsson, this report was written to enhance the understanding of how it is to develop a system that is well established at the workplace. To improve an already existing system is not always as easy as many developers may think. In this report the pros and cons of developing an already existing system has been researched and analyzed. Do note that the results are only from one development of a specific system and that comparison of other developments has been made from other reports and not from experiencing it firsthand. It was found that the choices made can have an impact on further developing and it is important to write down what has been done.

System för säkerhetskopiering och återställning är ett ämne som de flesta IT-verksamheter idag arbetar med. Tekniken förändras och datan växer med tiden vilket gör att en fungerande lösning för säkerhetskopiering och återställning blir allt viktigare i takt med vårt växande IT-samhälle. Vad man väljer för system beror även på vilka krav en organisation ställer och storleken på organisationen. Mindre företag behöver inte lika komplexa system som till exempel en datacenter-miljö. Detta betyder att det inte riktigt finns en generell lösning för alla.

En viktig aspekt vid e-handel är att kunden känner förtroende för e-handelsapplikationen och företaget. Denna rapport redogör för vilken inverkan multimediala inslag har för förtroendet av en e-handelsapplikation, vid initialt användande. En undersökning har genomförts med hjälp av en kooperativ utvärdering av fyra e-handelsapplikationer vilka innehåller olika typer av multimediala inslag har.Resultatet av undersökningen visar att multimediala inslag inverkar positivt på förtroendet för e-handelsapplikationer. Däremot finns indikationer på att för hög grad av multimedialt inslag inverkar negativt på förtroendet för e-handelsapplikationer..

In system development it is today increasingly common to use a model-based system development method. These methods that are suited for Agile work with simple and quick updates and implementations of new applications in systems conform to the requirements that are becoming more important today, namely more flexible and less expensive system that still maintain high quality and safety.A company that has been working with this type of system development method for a long time is Genicore AB, which also has developed their own tools and model language in order to better model the information management systems in complex and abstract operations. Genicore AB is trying to spread their method other developers and have therefore taken the initiative to start this study. The method is evaluated and tested by two students with relatively little experience in model-based systems engineering in order to gain a new perspective on how the method functions. The method has been applied to an educational activity in order to test it in a new domain, and this led us to our research question;?What criteria are of particular relevance in the implementation of a MBSD method on on complex businesses??Through literature reviews and interviews, we formed an idea of how model-based system development works from a theoretical perspective, and then continued to the case study conducted on the educational activities at the faculty of IT at University of Gothenburg.

In order to reduce the price for, and improve the performance of automatic control systems for magnetization of synchronus generators, the possibilities of using a PC based software PLC system, Programmable Logic Controller, has been investigated. The result is a system based on the CoDeSys software PLC with runtime environment from 3S-Software, communicating with external units via Modbus fieldbus. System price is reduced from ?5000 to ?2000 and system processing speed is reduced from 10 ms for a Siemens S7 PLC to 4 ms with the CoDeSys PLC system though unsolved problems with runtime seizure caused by improper settings in the PC BIOS..
