This masters thesis concerns a modeling project performed at Volvo Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. The main purpose of the project has been to develop a physical model of the climate in construction vehicles that later on can be used in the development of an electronic climate controller. The focus of the work has been on one type of wheel loader and one type of excavator. The temperature inside the compartment has been set equal to the notion climate. With physical theories about air flow and heat transfer in respect, relations between the components in the climate unit and the compartment has been calculated.

The landscape in the interior of Norrland has undergone dramatic changes since the deglaciation as a consequence of faultings, earthquakes and tilting of the landscape westwards. Archaeological investigations along former shorelines by the use of models of isostatic land uplift, have revealed many Mesolitic settlements in northern Sweden. Döudden, in the county of Arjeplog, has been investigated by archaeologists that identified settlements from 5200 BC. The objective of this study was to analyse the history of the vegetation and if the vegetation showed traces of human activity during early Holocene, by pollen analysis. The purpose of my study is to explore which possibilities there are for movement activities and how to use those possibilities. From this study, I will help the pedagogues recognize how to work more or different with movement activities.I have used participant observations and interviews as methods for my study. I did this at one preschool, because it is a development-study. The observations lasted for two weeks and the interviews were made with the majority of the pedagogues at the preschool.  The results of my study showed that the preschool teachers think that movement activities are an important part of children?s lives.

approaching Boden deals with the approaching of a city, both in a physical sense ? along the road ? and in a spiritual sense ? in mind. The physical encounter with a city is represented by the experience of the road and its surroundings, while the spiritual encounter is represented by the idea of the city that we already have, or will get, in our minds. We have in this degree project approached Boden through a thoroughly analysis of both the entrance roads and the city itself. In this degree project we are looking for ways of how to create characteristic and interesting entrance roads to a city, with Boden as an example. This demands knowledge about the problems involving entrance roads as well as the distinctive features of the city.

This master thesis in economics discusses the time use of today as well as the observed trends in time use over the last 20 years in Sweden. This is done by analysing time-use and consumption data at the microeconomic level, i.e. by explaining individual behaviour given the economic assumption of a rational behaviour. We reach the conclusion that the value of time is an important explanatory variable concerning the rationality in that time is used differently by different individuals and in the changed use of time. The thesis aims to understand how learning processes are affected when an organization split into two separate organizations. The study is designed as a single case, covering a new government agency?s takeover of a core activity from another agency and the use of a purchase-provider split between the agencies, providing the new agency with IT-services. The findings revealed a difference in productive system and knowledge types between core- and IT-activities. The core activity was found to be dominated by explicit knowledge while the IT-activity seemed to be dominated by a mix of explicit and tacit knowledge.

How do you build cities that are exciting and nice to live in? What factors in the physical environment is it that make you feel comfortable in some of the places in the city, but in other places not comfortable at all? Why do some cities have a rich public life in their public realm, while the public realm in other cities is abandoned and empty? How do you plan environments that support people?s physical and mental health? These are questions that I put to myself, and that people who are interested in or working with physical planning should ask themselves. That is why I have been studying an authority on the subject, the Danish Professor Jan Gehl, who has been researching and working with peoplefriendly public realms for 50 years. He is best known for his book Life between buildings that has been a text-book in the education of architects for more than 30 years, and to have initiated Copenhagens most famous pedestrian street, Strøget, to show his theory of how people will use the public realm, if it?s only got the right qualities.

Denna studie handlar om barns fysiska aktivitet på två olika orter, storstad/landsort. Syftet var att ta reda på hur fysiskt aktiva pojkar och flickor i skolår sex är i skolan och på fritiden, utifrån ett genusperspektiv på vardera ort. Urvalsgruppen består sammanlagt av 160 pojkar och flickor i skolår sex, varav 73 på landsorten och 87 i storstaden. Betydelsen av fysisk aktivitet är ett omdiskuterat ämne idag. Många människor har idag i allt större utsträckning en inaktiv livsstil. Skärmbundna aktiviteter såsom TV, DVD, dataspel etc.

Patienter vet att det är viktigt att vara fysiskt aktiv trots det vet få varför, vilket leder till brist på motivation. Patienter saknar kunskap angående livsstilsförändringar och vilka effekter som sekundärpreventiva åtgärder har efter hjärtinfarkt. Sjuksköterskan har en skyldighet att ge information och rådgivning efter en hjärtinfarkt. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva effekten av fysisk aktivitet som sekundärprevention efter hjärtinfarkt. I studien ingick 17 vetenskapligt granskade artiklar.

The Swedish concept of bildning, related to the German Bildung, finding its correspondence in English in refinement, formation and culture, is an important, though traditional rather than modern concept in cultural policy and sphere. The concept connected to the activity of the public library is relevant, as the library uses the word as a description of parts of its work. The meaning of the concept can easily be seen to be complex as well as disputed, borders on and is related to other concepts. The paper discusses different meanings to the concept according to different Swedish authors, as well as the connection of the concept to related ones. The varieties and differences are expressed as differences in discourse.

En stor del av dagens sjukskrivningar beror på psykisk ohälsa och fysisk inaktivitet och har blivit ett folkhälsoproblem. Stress beror av relationen mellan individ och miljö, där individens självuppfattning och verklighetsupplevelse är av betydelse för upprätthållandet av välbefinnande. Stress uppkommer av flera olika orsaker, stressorer, vilka skiljer sig människor emellan. Fysisk aktivitet har visat sig ha en positiv inverkan både i att förebygga och behandla stress och företagssköterskan kan genom hälsorådgivning ha en betydande roll för yrkesverksammas fysiska aktivitetsutövande. Syftet med studien var att beskriva den fysiska aktivitetens betydelse för den upplevda stressnivån bland anställda inom ett kommunalt energi- och vattenbolag.
