Background and problem formulation: In order for a company?s business idea or vision to be fulfilled, the management of a company needs assistance from various means to intentionally affect the operation in the desired direction. Management control concerns activities of both financial and non-financial character in order to implement the strategy of a company and to reach profitability. Since the purchaser function is responsible of spending 50 percent of a company?s total revenue, the function has an optimal starting point to be a key actor in the shaping and execution of a company?s strategic plan.

I samarbete med Skanska Sverige AB, Region Hus Stockholm Bostäder har detta examensarbete upprättats. Examensarbetet handlar om bedömning och uppföljning av de allmänna kostnaderna, (AK), inom regionen.  Inom husbyggnation är de allmänna kostnaderna en del av projektets totalkostnad och är i de flesta fall svåra att beräkna. Delar av Region Hus Stockholm Bostäder har arbetat med att ta fram erfarenhetsvärden och nyckeltal, för att få ökade kunskaper om AK i projekten och därigenom underlätta bedömningarna för prissättning i kommande projekt. Syftet är att försöka bidra till högre produktivitet genom att göra bättre bedömning, uppföljning och erfarenhetsåterföring med hjälp rekommendationer. Målet är ta fram en generell beskrivning av en rekommenderad arbetsrutin som ska ha en ?best practice? funktion för framtida arbeten.

In this study we examine four Swedish newspapers? visual coverage of the Tunisian and Egyptian uprisings in 2010 and 2011 ? commonly known as the ?Arab Spring Revolution?, the ?Jasmine revolution? and in Sweden also the ?Women?s revolution? ? focusing on three main perspectives: news values and framing, postcolonialism, and gender.By means of a comprehensive content analysis and an in-depth semiotic analysis, the purpose of this study is to investigate how Swedish written media frames the revolution and its initiators and partakers through news photographs, headlines, lead paragraphs and photograph bylines, and to determine whether or not it reproduces earlier trends of media coverage and framing of non-Westerners and non-Western societies.The purpose of the extensive content analysis is to attain data for empirical research of the visual portrayal of the uprisings? first twelve weeks in Sweden?s four largest newspapers Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Aftonbladet and Expressen. The analysis reveals that episodic framing is regularly used in all four newspapers, and that media demonizes Tunisians and Egyptians by constructing them as a brutal, uncivilized and threatening group which almost exclusively consists of men, and whose members are neither quoted nor named. It also shows that women are symbolically annihilated by media and that the very few women who do occur are gender stereotyped in accordance with established media conventions and postcolonial tradition, with the interesting exception of women being quoted to a larger extent than men. The analysis furthermore confirms the low occurrence of female journalists in Swedish foreign reporting, as well as demonstrates that the gender of the journalists does not influence what types of stories are written or how they are framed.The variable frequencies obtained from the content analysis provide indicators which are subsequently explored in the semiotic analysis of four news photographs.

SAMMANFATTNING Syfte Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om Sveriges ungdomsmottagningar har liknande förutsättningar att arbeta på ett kvalitetssäkert sätt utifrån de styrdokument som ett urval av mottagningar använder. Ungdomsmottagningar drivs utan nationellt uppdrag och av olika uppdragsgivare och utan enhetliga uppdragsbeskrivningar. Detta skulle kunna vara orsaken till de stora skillnader i bland annat kompetens, struktur och tillgänglighet som rapporter pekar på. Detta skulle kunna leda till bristande eller varierande vårdkvalitet.MetodGenom en kvalitativ innehållsanalytisk ansats undersöks om ett strategiskt urval av styrdokument från ungdomsmottagningsverksamheten behandlar de kvalitetsområden som framgår i Socialstyrelsens föreskrift om ?God Vård?.ReslutatDe styrdokument som undersökts ger ett samlat intryck av vad en ungdomsmottagning arbetar med.

Public concern and the need of responsible way of doing business have brought forward the issue of sustainability at the forefront of discussion in the last decade. Even though, food retailers are playing an important role in the economy, they are exposed for criticism by media and consumers for any socially and environmentally irresponsible business practices because, the potential environmental and social impacts from their operations are significant. These impacts need to be recognized and properly addressed. The main objective of this study was to assess the sustainable business management of a cooperative food retail business in Sweden, known as Konsum Värmland (KV). The necessary data and information on history and status of KV, and its practical activities concerning the implementation of sustainable development programs as well as the motivation and challenges encountered by KV during the implementation were gathered via reviewing different documents, research papers and press releases; interviewing decision makers and other personnel in KV and other researchers from Swedish University of Agricultural University who have investigated KV.

In this essay we aim at finding an appropriate flash estimator of the quarterly Swedish private consumption (PK). With the aid of the statistics program TRAMO we study if monthly data from the consumer survey (HIP) and retail industry (DH) can be used in a transfer function model (TFM) to forecast PK. In the work of assessing the state of the market and the business trend, fast information from the national accounts is needed for making decisions for the economic politics in Sweden. A way to speed up the information process is to use leading economic indicators to asses this development. Another way to get information faster is to use a flash estimate.

Bakgrund och problem: ?What gets measured gets done? är ett välkänt ordspråk inom prestations-mätningsområdet. Den primära rollen i prestationsmätning är att säkerställa att företagets mål upp-nås och för det används mål och mått som hjälper medarbetarna att prestera väl. Detta gäller såväl i företagets supply chain som i övriga delar av verksamheten. Eftersom en supply chain i många fall är mycket komplex ökar betydelsen av styrning och mätningar.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att i detaljhandelsbranschen identifiera ett fåtal Key Performance Indicators (KPI) för en supply chain (SC) som kan bidra till ökad lönsamhet via materialanskaffning, lager och butikspåfyllnad.Avgränsningar: Studien avgränsas till ett företag för att kunna gå på djupet och se hur fallstudiens företag ställer sig till studiens generellt uttryckta syfte.Metod: En kvalitativ fallstudie har genomförts.

Vid svåra tider har det blivit allt vanligare att företag outsourcar delar av sin verksamhet. Även om ansvaret för verksamheten faller på en annan part kan grundproblemet till varför outsourcing genomfördes bestå och fortsätta att påverka företaget. För att förhindra ett förhastat beslut om outsourcing, är det därför viktigt att ta reda på hur verksamheten presterar och kan förbättras. Av denna anledning är det av ytterst viktigt att företag mäter sin prestation. Genom att mäta prestationer övervakas företagets aktiviteter, processer och utveckling i önskad riktning.

During an investigation of animal welfare in animal production, the focus has for a long time been focused on the absence of stress, suffering and injuries, and positive emotions have not been prioritized. However, in recent years that has been drastically changed. The public interest have increased for buying animal products from animals that have had a decent life, which have led to that play, exploratory behavior and other positive behaviours has come to play a significant role in welfare assessment. The welfare of cattle is difficult to assess since there is currently no ancestors to study, it is thus difficult to determine which behaviors can be regarded as natural and thus positively related, acordingly the welfare of cattle have been forgotten and research on positive emotions of cattle have not been prioritized. The aim of this study was to observe which behavior growing cattle performe, and if there was any differences of which kind of behavior that was observed, if the cattle is keept on slatted floor or on a deep straw bedding. Furthermore, antoher purpose was to investigate if the observed behaviours indicate a positive, negative or natural welfare, and if it is possible to use the observed behaviours in a welfare assessment.

The purpose of this study was to analyze and develop a workflow for assessing and representing the value of ecosystems to professionals involved in municipal planning. A thorough literature review was conducted and supplemented by interviews and observations. Frameworks for ecosystem service assessments were analyzed and combined with methods in urban planning in order to assess social and ecological conditions. A workflow was set up and methods were evaluated by applying them to a case study in the area Åstråket in Uppsala. Experience from the case study was compiled in order to improve the workflow.Complex assessments were identified and simplified for the method to be useful for practitioners.

Since long, Sweden has had exceptionally low calf mortality compared to most other countries. The tradition has been to keep calves in individual pens. With increasing number of cows per herd there is now a larger interest in more efficient and economical group systems for housing calves. However it has been noticed that bigger herds have more health problems and higher calf mortality than smaller herds. The early signs of disease are harder to detect when the animals are not fed manually.

Denna uppsats utgår ifrån att människans aktiviteter påverkar miljö och naturresurser negativt. Generellt har företag en mer betydande miljöpåverkan än enskilda personer och det är därför viktigt att de tar sitt miljömässiga ansvar (Ammenberg, 2003). Ett sätt att göra det är att arbeta med miljöledningssystem, MLS. Det MLS som används mest globalt sett är International Organization for Standardizations miljöledningssystem ISO 14001. Antal företag och organisationer som är certifierade med ISO 14001 räknas som en indikator på hållbar utveckling i Sverige (www, Statistiska centralbyrån, 2010).

The purpose of this study is to create a method that can be used to produce decisionsupport data for the climate goals of a municipality. The method should be able to demonstrate the potential for reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions for measures aimed at the stationary energy system in the municipality. It will be used to make longterm projections of energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in order to be able to demonstrate the ability to reach climate goals. The aim was also to test the method's applicability by using the municipality of Uppsala and the Uppsala climate protocol project in a case study. Uppsala climate protocol is a project consisting of participants from business, government and organizations that voluntarily want to commit to reducing their carbon footprint by reducing their energy use and thus work to achieve the municipality's overall climate goal. Public reporting of energy use and climate impact has been studied in order to examine the nature of indicators and accounting figures that are commonly used in the field and how long-term forecasts are formulated. In connection to this, the type and sources for the kind of data needed was also examined.
