Ålen är en utrotningshotad art som under sin livscykel vandrar mellan hav och sötvatten eller bräckvatten. Ålen som vandrar till sjöar och vattendrag utsätts för vandringshinder, bland annat i form av vattenkraftverk, som hindrar ålen från att ta sig både till och från havet. Att skapa förbipassager vid kraftverken är ett möjligt sätt att hjälpa blankålen vid dess vandring till havet. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om ålen föredrar en flyktväg vid vattenytan eller vid botten vid nedströms passage av ett vattenkraftverk. Studien utfördes vid Alsters vattenkraftverk i Alsterälven, strax öster om Karlstad.

Under 2014 sökte fler än 74 000 människor asyl i Sverige för att komma undan bland annat krig och förföljelse. Det är Migrationsverkets uppdrag att ge människorna bostäder under asyltiden. Men antalet asylsökande har under de senaste åren ökat och när fler kommer räcker inte myndighetens boenden till. De får då hyra tillfälliga asylboenden av privata aktörer.Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att undersöka hur öppnandet av ett privat asylboende har påverkat en mindre ort i Sverige och de människor som bor och verkar där. Ambitionen har varit att bidra till medierapporteringen med en bredare och nyanserad bild.

The European Union is a 60 year long collaboration between the European countries. It was born from the intention to ease trade and thereby reassure peace. Within the 60 years EU has functioned it has developed and expanded further. In 1952 it evolved around the trade of coal and steel between six countries, today it includes 27 nations and oversees a large number of topics such as foreign affairs, a common currency and regional politics. EU has grown at several times, the latest expansion was the largest where 12 new countries became members. The unions of countries that only 60 years ago were at different sides of a world war can be considered an accomplishment.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate how libraries market themselves in social media and why they do it. I have studied a certain public library?s process of introducing social media into its marketing mix, the preparations for this process and the effects of these marketing methods.The theoretical framework for this thesis is based on relationship marketing, a theory which focuses on relationships, networks and interaction. My main method has been semi-structured interviews with a librarian at the relevant library, with the manager of the library and with the head of the municipality?s department of communication.The results of my studies show that marketing on social media is a positive and important thing for libraries.

AbstractThis master thesis is a hermeneutic inspired case study of how the value base regarding the environmental and social responsibility in the Swedish coffee company Löfbergs Lila AB is affecting the company's business. A thesis inspired by hermeneutics means that it is based on two ideas, the one of interaction between entirety and partitions and the one of interpretation (Alvesson & Sköldberg 1994). This cause that the emphasis is on how the reality is interpreted and that it never can be seen as completely objective.The case study was conducted during the spring semester of 2010 at Karlstad's University and consists of both empirical and theoretical material collected during this time. The empirical material in this thesis includes, among other things, interviews with four representatives of Löfbergs Lila AB, written material from the company regarding its work related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), some information about the coffee industry as a whole and different certifications for "ethical? coffee that exists on the Swedish market.The basic idea with CSR as a business strategy is that it can be financially beneficial for companies to take a social and environmental responsibility outside of the company (Vogel 2005).

Today's competition in the industries puts high demands on the efficiency where each company has a quest for perfection.Arvika Smide has been through the thesis of Karlstad University, called for a situation analysis of aftertreatment whose effectiveness has not been fully desirable. The department includes the production steps blasting, quality control and packaging.The thesis contains the results from the situation analysis and comparisons of the calculations for selected reference period Q4 2009th.

Författarna erhöll i februari 2009 ett uppdrag från Nordea Skoghall. De var intresserade av Hammaröbors beteende gällande banktjänster och vad som efterfrågas utav dem. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka förortsbors val av bankkontor, samt analysera hur de värderar tillgänglighet, öppettider, rådgivning, priser och kontanthantering hos banker. Uppsatsens empiriska del är uppbyggd utifrån en kvantitativ metod där insamlingen bygger på 130 enkäter. Utifrån resultatet, som sammanställts i siffror istället för ord, har ett stort antal observationer gjorts. Teorin har samlats från litteratur som berör relationsmarknadsföring, tjänstemarknadsföring samt information från relevanta källor på Internet.

The aim of this thesis is to explore from a cultural diversity perspective, students 'views on teachers' leadership styles in the classroom and what style of management students prefer. The study uses a qualitative methodology to interviewed focus groups of students consisting of a total of twelve students at a secondary school in Botkyrka municipality. The corpus was divided into three different groups. Overall, results showed that students seem to prefer an intercultural situational leadership style. This is based on the students expressed need of wanting to be understood on the basis of their cultural background.

Lagen säger att man inte får uppföra byggnader så att det riskerar människors hälsa. Trots detta uppförs byggnader så att ohälsa uppstår för de boende. Arbetet behandlar hur man i ett byggprojekt arbetar med fuktsäkring. Syftet är att undersöka hur man i projektet arbetar med att fuktsäkra byggnaderna. Målet är att lyfta fram var i processen det finns risker när det gäller fuktsäkring, och även ge förslag till förbättringar av arbetet med fuktsäkringen.

SAMMANDRAGDenna rapport är en del i ett examensarbete på byggingenjörsutbildningen vid Chalmers Tekniska Högskola. Som komplement till rapporten finns ritningar på idéförslag samt ett program som beskriver byggnadens nutida utformning samt kraven på en ombyggnad.I denna rapport utreder vi möjligheterna att bygga om den befintliga järnvägsstationen i Mellerud till ett modernt resecentrum, på uppdrag av Melleruds kommun. Rapporten behandlar flera olika grundläggande lösningarav utformningen. Med dessa som utgångspunkt utformas sedan de olika delarna i den bästa av de grundläggande lösningarna. Målet med rapporten är att utforma ett resecentrum som tillgodoser resenärernas behov.

AbstractThe organization of the health care system in Sweden has been subjected to investigations and discussions in order to make it more effective. The aim is to create a better public health care and to economize on the financial resources. In the year of 2003 an amendment of the Swedish law made it easier for municipalities and county councils to make own solutions and agree about how health service should be organized in the best way. This resulted in a number of test projects. In this paper I will focus on one of these test projects which took place in Borlänge and was based on collaboration between the municipality and the county council in Dalecarlia.

Banken har genomgått en ständig förändring sedan den etablerades. I början fanns bara bankkontor men idag har den utvidgats med bland annat internetbank, telefonbank och bankomater. Det mesta tyder på att banken kommer att fortsätta att förändras och utveckla sina tjänster och erbjudanden.Vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att beskriva hur banktjänsterna borde ändras utifrån ungdomars bankvanor och syn på banken. Detta för att hänga med i denna förändring och kunna hålla konkurrensen med de andra bankerna. Dagens ungdom är nästa generation ut på bankmarknaden och det är då extra viktiga att ta till sig denna nya målgrupp.Vi har valt att undersöka bankvanor hos ungdomar i årskurs tre på gymnasiet.

This work has been made in cooperation with the municipality of Eslöv and the inventory area is a part of the deepening of the municipality plan of east Eslöv. The aim of the work is to test the principle of balance in the overall planning. Later in the detailed planning process a more detailed calculation is made and a suggestion of suitable measures for compensation is made. Then the method with green area factors can be used. The goal is to balance the negative influence on the environment from the planned impacts to gain a sustainable development of the city. The principle of balance means that the one responsible for the development also has to compensate for the negative impacts on nature and landscape that comes with the development.

A trend in modern landscape architecture is to design pedestrian streets so that vehicles and people move in the same area. By doing this, traffic tends to slow down. On the market though, there is a lack of furniture that corresponds to the requirements of these kinds of public places. Therefore, I have designed this furniture, called VOX, which is planned to be used on streets, schoolyards and squares. One objective has been to promote the product to the industry.To achieve this, I have been in contact with people from different professions, which have all influenced my designprocess.

The aim of this study was to examine nursing personnel?s knowledge about oral health care and attitudes towards the free assessment of the oral status done by the dental service for elderly and handicapped persons in a municipality in the south part of Skåne, and also how personnel experience the free assessment of the oral status done by the dental service and how it functioned at the facilities. The study was carried out by sending out 150 questionnaires to nursing personnel at six special housing facilities. 73% (110 personnel?s) answered the questionnaires.
