The main purpose of this study was to obtain insight into what students and teachers think about field trips in ecology and whether they think that fieldtrips result in increase of students? learning. Open questionnaires and half structured interviews were used to investigate this. Persons who answered the questionnaires and participated in the interviews were senior high school teachers in biology or science and high school science students. All the teachers and most of the students thought that field trips in ecology resulted in increased learning.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how teachers perceive that they work with science in preschool through aesthetic learning processes as tools both in the indoor and outdoor environment and make visible what the educators' underlying beliefs are that affect how they perceive aesthetic learning processes as tools used to deepen children's understanding of different scientific phenomena.This is an interview study using the phenomenographic approach as a means and method to make visible and report on teachers' views on how aesthetic learning processes can be used to extend preschool children's learning about science. The results are analyzed and discussed based on John Dewey's theoretical ideas about children's learning, aesthetics and science.The study clearly shows that teachers' views on aesthetic learning processes and how they can be used in the work whit science is very divided and in some cases unreflective. The most striking results are that teachers often are unaware that they make use of aesthetic learning processes because they have a more limited view of what it is than we have in the paper. All informants have science as a core subject. Their focus of the activity is located at the showing and visualizeing of scientific phenomena and some of them express that they submit the aesthetic learning processes to their colleagues or that they collaborate with someone who has training in some art form.

I läroplanen för det obligatoriska skolväsendet (Lpo 94) står det att ?hänsyn skall tas till elevernas olika förutsättningar och behov [?] därför kan undervisningen aldrig utformas lika för alla? (Lärarförbundet, 2006:10). I dagens skolor diskuterar pedagoger värdegrund, elevers lika värde och hur viktigt det är att ta tillvara på olikheterna och utgå från varje individs förutsättningar. Det har under en lång period bedrivits forskning kring ämnet inlärningsstilar. Rita & Ken Dunn, Howard Gardner samt Richard Bandler och John Grinder är exempel på betydelsefulla forskare. Syftet med studien ?Elevers inlärningsstilar i skolan? är att belysa vikten av inlärningsstilar samt hur de införlivas av pedagoger i planeringen och genomförandet av undervisningen.

Skolans styrdokument anger att eleverna ska öva upp sin förmåga att bedöma sina egna prestationer. Denna empiriska undersökning av kvalitativ karaktär har som syfte att synliggöra hur självbedömning utvecklar elevernas skriftliga förmåga i engelska för grundskolans senare år genom att besvara hur väl elevernas förmåga att bedöma sina egna texter på engelska utvecklas samt hur kvalitén på elevernas skrivna texter utvecklas av arbete med självbedömning under undersökningsperioden. Data för undersökningen består av elevskrivna texter, deras självbedömningar samt lärarens/undersökarens bedömning av samma texter. I resultatdelen presenteras hur väl eleverna har kunnat göra en pålitlig självbedömning samt huruvida progression i elevernas texter har skett för att därefter diskuteras och analyseras. Jag har då utgått från att lärarens bedömning är den mest trovärdiga.

This two years master?s thesis in Library and Information Science examines book reviews and articles aboutbooks and authorship in media directed to children between the ages of 8 and 14. The aim is to increase knowledgeof children?s reading choices and view of reading. This is motivated by the decrease in literacy and sparetime reading among Swedish children and adolescents.

According to the curriculum the Swedish school system should aim to let the democratic values permeate the school as a whole, and the school should assume each student's individual abilities in teaching. (Lpo -94) Democratic education is what the pragmatist John Dewey strongly encourages in his book Democracy and Education, which is why he stands for the theoretical framework of the concept of democracy in the school context. This study aims to examine whether and if so, the social roles in a classroom can affect students' opportunities for learning. The main research questions asked were:How can the social roles affect students' opportunities for learning in a classroom? How do students perceive that the social roles in the classroom affect their opportunities for learning? This has been investigated by two complementary perspectives.  Partly thru a student perspective to raise the students 'own experiences, and partly from an outside perspective to show how I, as an observer can see that social roles affect students' opportunities for learning.

Syftet med detta självständiga arbete var att undersöka hur fyra sånglärare från tre olika gymnasieskolors estetiska program, inriktning musik, resonerar kring bedömning i kursen Sång 2. Vidare önskade jag ta reda på om de olika lärarna har överensstämmande uppfattningar om vad som är viktigt att lära sig i det centrala innehållet i kursen och om de använder sig av liknande pedagogiska aktiviteter för lärande. Jag ville också undersöka om de har ett gemensamt sånglärarspråk, i termer och begrepp, då de talar om bedömning och musikaliska prestationer. Den teoretiska ansatsen utgick från John Deweys utbildningsfilosofiska idéer och som metod användes en halvstrukturerad fokusgruppsintervju. I studiens resultat framkom att gymnasiesånglärarna önskar tydliggöra innebörden i kunskapskraven tillsammans med både kollegor och elever och därmed utveckla ett gemensamt professionellt språk för termer i sångundervisning, samt säkerställa likvärdig bedömning.

I den här uppsatsen jämförs hur tre olika barn- och ungdomsboksförfattare skildrar historisk tid, i det här fallet 1600-talet och häxprocesserna. Författarnas användning av miljö, karaktärer och berättarteknik för att berätta om dessa händelser analyseras utifrån en narratologisk synvinkel. I uppsatsen undersöks även bilden av häxan och texternas motiv studeras. Slutligen granskas författarnas syn på dåtiden och deras syfte med berättelserna. Teorierna i uppsatsen har hämtats från bland andra litteraturvetaren John Stephens och historikern Peter Aronsson.Slutsatserna är att Maj Bylock, Bo R Holmberg och Olov Svedelid vill berätta både om dåtiden och nutiden.

Dueto this the purpose of this report is true a case, study and analyze what kind of factors thereis to take into consideration during the materials way from the supplier to the workstationin a project located in the inner city. The data for the report was collected with the help of acase study, and in three different ways.

Abstrakt -  As energy prices rise, energy-saving in buildings is becoming increasingly important. By applying different construction and installation technologies, to new buildings the energy consumption can be reduced effectively, compared to similar existing buildings. These technical measures are often an investment in the long term and will reduce energy costs significantly. The purpose of this report is to show how to reduce energy consumption in a small house. It is presented in this report that both building's technical saving arrangements (the sealing of a building) and an installation technical arrangement (changing from the F-system to the FTX-system) would reduce energy consumption in newly built detached houses, if compared with a similar existing house but without these technical measures. The report presents also detailed calculations showing how much energy an existing 2-storey house, built in the year 2007 in Eskilstuna, consumes and how much energy would be saved if these corrective measures were applied to a new building. It is also reported how much money would be saved each year over a 10 year period if the measures were applied. The results show that both solutions are a good investment in the reduction of energy consumption and hence the cost involved. Keywords: energy, heat energy, infiltration, FTX-system, free temperature effectively. .

Many media buyers annually spend money on advertising which will not be of benefit to their own brand; the fact that consumers confuse from which brand they have heard or seen commercials, comes as news to nobody. The phenomenon of media confusion has however earned much less attention. As a greater part of the total marketing budget is being spent on the media investments, on behalf of the actual advertising production, the more interesting it turns out to maximize the effects of the media expenses. The search for optimization is somewhat practised today by brand managers who are daringly adding a few more media channels to support their TV-campaigns. Buying ad space in TV is nevertheless much more expensive than the radio equivalent.

I Sverige anses det viktigt att skolan bidrar till att fostra demokratiska medborgare genom att låta demokratiska värden genomsyra skolans verksamhet. Demokrati och värden är dock två komplexa begrepp och det är svårt att tala om globala demokratiska värden. Av denna anledning är det av intresse att undersöka vilka värden som framställs som önskvärda i skolor i andra delar av världen, och hur dessa värden kan förstås utifrån den svenska värdegrunden. Den här studien syftar till att öka kunskapen om värdepedagogisk praktik i en grundskola i Uganda. Studiens syfte och frågeställningar besvarades genom en fallstudie i en lågstadieklass i östra Uganda, där dokumentstudier av läroplan, intervjuer med skolpersonal och observationer i klassrummet användes som datainsamlingsmetoder.

Mothers and fathers in Sweden receive an earnings-related benefit of 80 percent of their income when they take parental leave. There exists a ceiling in the allowance though, meaning that some people with high earnings don?t receive fully 80 percent of their ordinary salary. The length of the parental leave varies between women and men and also among men and women. Various reasons are used to explain this; one of them is economical.

This essay has examined how the local community is involved with the tourism development on the San Blas islands and how it effects the destinations development. The method of choice has been a qualitative interview with an operator that offers trips to the destination. Also there has been made a literature study where previous research about the San Blas and the subjects of choice is being presented. During the writing process of this essay it has become obvious to us that the local community (Kuna Yala) is very much involved in everything that concerns the destination. We can thereby establish that the local community of San Blas can be placed on the top step of Arnsteins (1969) ?Ladder of Participation?.
