The study has a qualitative approach and the theoretical part is based on Castells', Giddens' and Bauman's theories of modern society and employment in relation to the individual. The study concludes that external circumstances in combination with internal driving forces are the reasons behind changing careers. The process is predominantly perceived as positive, especially education tends to strengthen self-identity. Work in general is regarded as important for a person's identity and new career changes are expected in the future..

Studiens syfte var att undersöka pedagogernas intentioner med användandet av taktil massage som pedagogisk inriktning i förskoleverksamheten, med målet att identifiera och beskriva skilda uppfattningar vad gäller effekterna av att använda taktil massage i förskoleverksamheten ur ett pedagogperspektiv.Studien har en fenomenografisk ansats, en ansats som innebär att forskaren undersöker människors uppfattningar och variationer av ett fenomen. Datainsamlingen bestod av kvalitativa intervjuer med sex pedagoger som använt eller använder sig av taktil massage i förskoleverksamheten.Resultatet av studien visar att pedagogernas intentioner med att använda taktil massage kan härröras till sociala-, fysiska, psykologiska- och kognitiva effekter. Effekter som respondenterna uppfattar med användandet av taktil massage.Slutsatsen lyder följande; att användandet av taktil massage medför att pedagogen som väljer metoden taktil massage ställs inför ett pedagogiskt dilemma vilket innebär att pedagogen måste välja mellan vad som väger tyngst, ett värdegrundsperspektiv eller ett didaktiskt perspektiv..

This essay aims to examine Martha Nussbaum's proposal for a classical defense of reform in liberal education and her critique of utility thinking in higher education. I want to explore how Nussbaum uses history to create an ethical alternative that cultivates both moral and intellectual virtues, which she considers to be crucial for the survival of democracy. In examining Nussbaum's use of Aristotle, I focus on her work as a proposal for institutional implementation of an Aristotelian epistemology and the cultivation of the individual as an ethical political subject. This study highlights the epistemological, educational and political ideas that form the basis of Nussbaum's ideals. I intend, however, to go beyond a contextualizing reading and thus establish a dialogue with a radical intersubjectivity to respond to Nussbaum's ambitions to recognize human vulnerabilities as assets for reason.

Since the end of the Cold War, the Swedish national defence has been more and more dismantled, in favor of international peace support operations which have become an increasingly important task for the Swedish defence. Why then, is Sweden so engaged in conflicts so far from home? Using two classic theories of international politics, realism and liberalism, this study aims to shed light on arguments from the Swedish parliament on why it is important for Sweden to participate in international peace support operations. After analyzing arguments of the Social Democrat Party, the Moderate Party, the Green Party and the Liberal Party concerning three different peace support operations which Sweden has participated in, the result shows that although both realism and liberalism are influencing the parties? argumentation, liberalism is the theory which is used more often.
