Bakgrund: Det sker en ökning i västvärlden av gravida kvinnor som är överviktiga eller lider av fetma. Närmare 40 procent av de gravida i Sverige är överviktiga och drygt 10 procent är feta. Så många som en tredjedel av gravida kvinnor klassas som fysiskt inaktiva. Detta gör området folkhälsovetenskapligt relevant då fysisk inaktivitet och övervikt har samband med flera folksjukdomar. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att beskriva hur fysisk aktivitet främjas hos gravida kvinnor.

The objective of this study was to investigate the attitude towards African swine fever (ASF) primarily among smallholder pig farmers but also among other actors along the pork value chain in Gulu district, Uganda. More specifically, the study aimed to investigate the specific challenges facing both farmers and other members of the pork value chain using participatory epidemiology (PE). ASF is a feared viral disease of pigs associated with high mortality, which is endemic in many parts of Africa. The recent history of Gulu district in Northern Uganda can be described as turbulent and the human population has suffered during decades of war and civil unrest. Pig keeping is considered a potential opportunity for business as well as a way of providing more animal protein in the diet. However, this is threatened by ASF as farmers can lose entire herds due to the disease. This study can confirm some previously known factors and risk activities such as the free range system of pigs and movement of pigs and pork during ongoing outbreaks, which make disease control difficult.

Today, activities funded with public funds needs to present relevant and reliable information which shows the results obtained. Requirements increase in welfare activities to be run based on scientific, empirical knowledge. This applies particularly to social work. The social work is, however, poorly researched in areas such as knowledge of Interventions in the content, context and effects. One way to evidence-base social work can be to conduct regular and qualified assessments.

This study examines how social workers in child and youth units within Social Services perceive and experience working with violence in young people's intimate relationships. The study aims to highlight whether there is a need for a domestic violence team within the child and youth units. Violence in young people?s close relationships is a growing societal issue, with limited establishment within the research field. While research on the frequency of such violence has increased, studies focusing on tailored support measures have lagged behind.

Bakgrund: Pre-operativ ångest är en subjektiv upplevelse och vanligt förekommande. För patienten leder det här bland annat till ökad smärta, behov av mer narkosmedel, längre tid för återhämtning och ytterligare vårdtid. Det finns ett antal bedömningsinstrument för att mäta pre-operativ ångest, såväl som interventioner för att lindra den.Syfte: Att med en litteraturstudie beskriva vilken effekt omvårdnadsåtgärder har vid pre-operativ ångest.Metod: Uppsatsen baserades på en litteraturöversikt av studier som belyst effekten av interventioner för att lindra pre-operativ ångest. Tio artiklar valdes ut efter kvalitetsgranskning och noggrann bearbetning för att besvara syftet.Resultat: Resultatet av de tio artiklarna skapade tre övergripande rubriker som visar på effekten av de studerade interventionerna på pre-operativ ångest. Interventionerna delades sedan in efter likheter vad gällde Interventionstyp.

Bakgrund: Illamående kan uppkomma av många olika orsaker. En av dessa är illamående som uppkommer som en biverkning till cytostatikabehandling. Illamående är en känd biverkning av cytostatikabehandling, varför patienter som ska påbörja och genomgår behandling mot cancer erhåller profylaktisk antiemetikabehandling. Illamående kan få konsekvenser som försämrad nutritionsstatus, elektrolytrubbningar och i vissa fall kan patienten vilja avbryta sin behandling på grund av att illamåendet blir för jobbigt. Trots antiemetika fortsätter illamående att vara ett stort problem vid cytostatikabehandling.Syfte: Att beskriva olika omvårdnadsåtgärder som kan användas som ett komplement till antiemetika vid behandling av illamående orsakat av cytostatika.Metod: En litteraturstudie med grund i analys av kvantitativ forskning genomfördes.Resultat: Sökningar resulterade i fem omvårdnadsåtgärder: progressiv muskelavslappning, tillskott av ingefära, proteintillskott och ingefärskapslar, intag av druvjuice och musikterapi och bildspråk.

This study has an integration policy direction as it focuses on the qualification for the new arrivals to quickly establish themselves in the labor market, and how the government's Interventions, which in this case is the establishment reform, have affected municipalities and what its role is in this context. The purpose of the establishment reform is to faster the new arrivals integration in to the labor market. The aim of this study is to analyze the interaction factors that is affecting the integration of new arrivals into the labor market by study the professionals opinions on the interplay between involved organizations in two municipalities before and after the establishment reform. Studies have shown that the establishment reform has not achieved its goal and the purpose is to analyze the aspects behind this problem. The results of the study were analyzed with help of the interaction theory and the new institutional theory which is a part of the organization theory. An important aspect in the results of our study is the deficiency with the interaction between the participating organizations that obstruct the new arrivals path to becoming self-contained. In order to identify the problem, the study focuses on the co-operation among two communities in Sweden with the new arrivals way into the labor market.

Gang crime has increased significantly in Sweden over the past decade, deadly shootings are becoming more common. This led to the year 2022 being established as the deadliest year in Swedish crime statistics since the police began compiling national statistics on shootings. Gang crime is, therefore, a highly relevant topic in the Swedish mass media. Besides the mass media, the phenomenon is also of interest to politicians and the general public. Because of the escalation of violence in Sweden, daily reports discuss the measures that should be implemented to combat gang crime.

AimThe aim of this study was to find out whether Motivational Interviewing can affect people to change their behaviour in form of increasing physical activity. What results do studies conducted at healthy adults using Motivational Interviewing with physical activity as an outcome present?MethodTo fulfil the aim of the study we chose a review process. During the research two data-bases were used, PUBMED and CSA. Studies including participants under the age of 18 or studies where the participants suffered from diseases were excluded.

The purpose of this study was to look at the common opinion about children in Cambodia. By interviewing the professionals in different help organizations we studied the common opinion about children in general and the common opinion about children who are exposed to sexual trafficking. The ambition of the study was also to see if the common opinion about children in Cambodia affects the help that is available for the children who are exposed to sexual trafficking.This is a qualitative study including semi structured interviews with seven professionals who work with vulnerable children. The interview guide focused on the themes: children?s needs, sexual trafficking, children?s rights, childhood, children?s sexuality and gender.

Background Swedish nurses are required by law to document nursing care. Studies have proved scarce in nursing documentation with regard to written language, the nursing process and the nurse´s caring perspective. Educating nurses in using the VIPS model have improved nursing documentation. Few studies have included nursing documentation of psychiatric care.Aim The aim of this study was to describe nursing documentation within psychiatric care of inpatient settings.Method A quantitative, retrospective descriptive research design was applied. A total of 60 nursing journals from a psychiatric department of six wards were studied.

Since the 9/11-attacks several nations have been confronted with a new international threat, its nature traces back to the political- and religious- radical movements of the 20th century Cold War. Ever since, various states have been under threat by terrorist organizations around the world due to mainly participating in worldwide counter-terrorist Interventions created by western alliances. In Sweden, amongst other countries, the state took security-precautions that would imply total control of information throughout the territorial borders. The assigned proposition was accepted by the Swedish parliament in June 18th 2008, after this date wild spread criticism was still in effect ever since the Swedish government first publicly announced the proposition in May 8th 2007. This study emphasizes on understanding why the Swedish government chose to present this proposition to parliament, in order to complete this task the study will present the motives and the alleged threats that were the core of the proposition and its value-maximizing goal of creating a new surface for Swedish homeland security.

Background: Obesity has expanded to a nationwide issue that affects millions of people. The healthcare system struggles to handle the epidemic as the problem grows. Studies show that healthcare workers have negative attitudes toward obese and overweight people and that they lack knowledge and proper tools to support this patient group. Motivational interviewing (MI) is a known technique for initiating lifestyle changes with patients. Aim: The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of MI as a tool for weight loss and sustainable lifestyle changes for people with obesity and overweight. Method: This study uses a literature review methodology with a systematic perspective. Data is gathered and analyzed to investigate how MI affects weight loss.

Dokumenterad erfarenhet av otillfredsställande måltidsmiljö i svenska skolrestauranger och trender på försämrad psykisk hälsa bland svenska barn och ungdomar har föranlett till en fyra dagars Interventionsstudie med musik i skolmåltidsmiljö. Studien genomfördes bland maxi-malt 71 grundskoleelever. Syftet med studien var att utforska fenomenet måltidsupplevelse i skolmåltid samt undersöka mängd matavfall för elever från årskurs 2, 3 och 5. Min frågeställ-ning blev i sin tur, vad för eventuella kan musiken mellan människa, hälsa och måltid. Under-sökningsmetoden gick till som en Interventionsstudie, i detta fall att tillföra en verklig situa-tion som måltiden med musik och att därefter utvärdera upplevelser och förhållanden.

Although women express a desire to be managers and although they constitute the majority of Sweden's newly graduated academics, they are still heavily underrepresented on senior management level in the Swedish private sector, where men hold as much as 95 % of the top positions. Considering the massive waste of resources that this implies, this thesis sets out to investigate the underlying reasons for the skewed gender distribution on senior management level in two Swedish professional services companies - an industry where the described problem has been palpable. Additionally, the thesis explores the effects of actively working for increased gender equality. With a basis in gender and organization theory, a broad theoretical framework has been compiled and applied to a qualitative case study design. The thesis reveals seven distinct impediments, which together create a parable of an obstacles course, that prevent women from advancing the corporate ladder in the same manner as their male colleagues.
