Throughout many years there have been discussions within the European Union (EU) regarding harmonization and improvement of accounting rules for companies with listed shares or other securities. The ambition exists to adopt, the within the union applied accounting standards, to those applied globally. These discussions lead the year 2002 to adoption by the council and parliament of international accounting standards (IFRS). The ordinance meant that all listed European companies have to adopt international accounting standards, accepted for application within the EU, for their consolidated accounts.During July 2003 the Swedish Government Official Reports issued a report (SOU 2003:71) stating, among other things, the differences and oppositions of implementing IFRS on a corporate level in Sweden, since corporate disclosure is regulated in Swedish law by Bokföringslagen (BFL) and Årsredovisningslagen (ÅRL). One of the main obstacles for the full implementation of IFRS is that a company?s annual report underlies the governmental taxation and an implementation of IFRS would affect this balance.

Many professions, such as doctors and psychologists, have a long history of work practice which have resulted that these professions have created their own ethical guidelines. The IT profession, which can be viewed as a relative young and somewhat immature profession, have yet to accommodate any clear guidelines regarding ethics. It?s therefore imperative to create discussions regarding ethical actions to raise the ethical awareness and also create ethical guidelines. The development of the IT profession is moving forward at a quick pace and it?s important to understand that this rapid advancement is not only changing the profession but also changing the society and the environment.

This report describes the process of translating Russian financial information in accordance with Russian Accounting Standards to IFRS, International Financial Reporting Standards. The author describes the two regulatory frameworks and reveals a number of risk factors in the process. These risk factors may affect the reliability of figures from Russian companies. In July 2011 the journalists Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson are arrested in Ethiopia when on a mission to report the activities of the oil exploration company Lundin Petroleum. Following a trial, closely observed by media, the two journalists are convicted to a prison sentence of eleven years. The Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Carl Bildt, is now to act on their behalf to preserve their rights as Swedish citizens. However, doubts are raised as to whether Bildt has a conflict of interest because of his former engagements as a board member in Lundin Petroleum.

Syftet är att undersöka om Sverige tillsammans med ett eller flera av de nordiska länderna kan utgöra en optimal valutaunion. Utifrån ett svenskt perspektiv visar resultaten att det är lämpligast för Sverige att ingå i en valutaunion med Norge och Danmark eftersom den ekonomiska integrationen mellan dessa länder har varit störst. Taylors ränteregel visar att Sverige och Norges räntebanor samvarier mest och Optimal currency area-index (OCA-index) visar att Sverige, Danmark och Norge präglas av störst ekonomisk integration.Vi har använt två olika metoder för att undersöka en optimal nordisk valutaunion utifrån ett svenskt perspektiv, OCA-index och Taylors ränteregel. De båda tillvägagångssätten fokuserar på hur ekonomiskt integrerade länderna är, men genom olika variabler och ekonomiska storheter. Ett OCA-index har skapats och skattningen visar att variabeln som beskriver konjunkturcykeln är den som har störst inverkan på den beroende variabeln, växelkursvolatilitet.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur den amerikanska ockupationen påverkade den japanska filmen i allmänhet, och Akira Kurosawas (1910-1998) produktion under denna tidsperiod i synnerhet. För att uppnå detta skisserar jag en översiktlig och lättillgänglig bild av den japanska filmhistorien, från dess tidigaste skede fram till 1952, vilken jag hoppas kan fungera som en historisk fond. Vad gäller ockupationstiden, ger jag inledningsvis en kortare historisk överblick, för att sedan begränsa perspektivet och fokusera på Akira Kurosawas filmproduktion under denna tid. Jag har vidare valt att begränsa valet av filmer - ur Kurosawas repertoar under åren 1945-52 - till följande alster: The Men Who Tread on the Tiger's Tail (1945), No Regrets for Our Youth (1946), One Wonderful Sunday (1947), Drunken Angel (1948) och Stray Dog (1949). Jag har valt dessa filmer, främst därför att de alla innehåller material som i mångt och mycket exemplifierar den påverkan som den amerikanska ockupationsmakten hade på Kurosawas produktioner - och japansk film - under ockupationen.

An inquiry into the post-war European aesthetic and political landscape should take the international organization Unesco?s colour reproductions and travelling exhibitions of paintings into consideration. In these, the organization implements André Malraux? idea of the ?imaginary museum? as a framework for a future cosmopolitical, aesthetic (and utopian) community. During the late 1940?s, the Swedish government also discusses the need for raising an ?aesthetic awareness? amongst their citizens as a consequence to a poor knowledge in the fine arts.

Certification systems, that assess companies? work with social and environmental issues, have emerged in an increasing number of industries. Today, there are environmental certifications for the food industry, the forestry, the fisheries sector and several more. In apparel industry, certification for sustainable working conditions has been of major impact. The property sector is no exception from other industries.

Skadestånd i diskrimineringsmål har kritiserats för att inte uppfylla EG-direktivens kriterier att vara tillräckligt avskräckande, effektiva och proportionerliga då de av domstolarna har jämförts med skadestånd vid andra brott. I min uppsats tar jag upp frågan dels om det reparativa syftet uppnås genom dagens skadeståndsbelopp, dels om den preventiva funktionen upprätthålls.Under arbetets gång med denna uppsats har en ny diskrimineringslagstiftning arbetats fram med syfte att försöka stärka skyddet mot diskriminering. Nyligen har både lagrådsremiss och proposition lämnat regeringen och den nya lagen föreslås träda i kraft den 1 januari 2009. I min uppsats diskuterar jag även frågan om den nya diskrimineringslagstiftningen kommer att förändra skadeståndspraxisen i Sverige? Jag anser att sanktionerna för brott mot diskrimineringslagstiftningen måste ses över för att uppfylla den moralbildande och handlingsdirigerande effekt den syftar till.

Ljusförorening är ett relativt modernt fenomen som allt mer påverkar tillgången till en stjärnklar natthimmel. Det finns en mängd olika internationella organisationer som arbetar för att minska ljusföroreningar och för att bevara natthimlens synlighet, bland andra International Dark-Sky Association, Royal Astronomical Society of Canada och Starlight Initiative. I den här uppsatsen undersöker jag ett antal strategiska dokument genom textanalys, för att analysera deras huvudsakliga motiv till förändringar och för att få en överblick över vilka sorters åtgärder som dessa organisationer föreslår.
