In this essay I employ memory theories to examine Absalom, Absalom! by William Faulkner. How are the memories depicted and how do they function in the novel? What are the characters ?allowed? to remember? Scholars that have written about William Faulkners usage of memories and narrative time in his novels, often claim that they together represent and create a sense of determinism and/or fatalism. Even though I agreed with that opinion, regarding time and memory in a lot of Faulkners novels, I wondered if these features in the text might not represent/mean something more, beyond that. One scholar have expressed the view that William Faulkners characters resemble blind marionettes of Destiny. I instead claim that the characters themselves, via their individual memories and temporal relations, create an internal determinism, connected with cultural memory, norms and traditions. I try to examine both the individual memories, as depicted in the novel, and the novel in its entirety, using different memory theories and narratology. .

The main purpose of this thesis was to take part of girl?s descriptions and experiences of their treatment for deliberate self-harm and to investigate whether they still experience effects of the treatment today. Our main research questions where; how do the girls describe their experiences of the treatment method, do the girls describe that they still experience any effects of the treatment, and finally how do the girls look back on their treatment today? In order to answer these questions, we carried out eight qualitative telephone interviews with girls that had undergone treatment in a specific treatment centre. We chose to analyze the material from the salutogenic theory and the concepts of SOC (sense of coherence) and with a hermeneutic approach.

Det underso?ks ocksa? vilka andra a?mnen eller teman som invandringsfra?gan lyfts fram i relation till. Vidare diskuteras a?ven hur partiledardebatten svarar mot SVT ?s public service-uppdrag.?Studien utga?r fra?n tidigare forskning om den medierade politiken och grundas i teorier om politiska debatter i TV och teorier om rasism.

Introducing a new type of IT-structure means a change that employees within an organization must adapt to. Today, many companies have implemented information technology in the form of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and find themselves in th so-called Second Wave stage where an after work is ongoing with continual improvement that involves changes that employees need to understand and act upon. To learn how to work with these recurrent misadventures is of importance because it is seen as a critical factor in order to take advantage of the ERP system and its benefits. To study this a study was conducted through personal interviews at Apoteksgruppen AB which a few years ago introduced a new ERP system. There the authors saw that employees learned in different ways depending on the position, and that the more responsibility this person had the greater freedom this person had to resolve their problems and therefore learned more effectively.

I denna uppsats undersöks hur tre engelskspråkiga föräldrahandböcker anpassats tillen svensk målgrupp när de har översatts till svenska. Några av de ämnesområden därpragmatiska problem ofta kan uppstå inom genren identifieras genom parallelläsningav källtexter och måltexter, och därefter ges exempel på hur översättarna valt att bemötasvårigheterna. En del exempel kan sägas vara typiska för genren och andra är mer generella problem som kan uppstå vid kulturell anpassning i samband med översättning rent allmänt.För att karaktärisera genren föräldralitteratur, och således kunna avgöra vad som gör att en översättning fungerar i sitt nya sammanhang, görs en analys av genren, och som referensram för vad som kan betecknas som pragmatiskt välfungerande används två föräldrahandböcker skrivna på svenska.Analysen visar att det krävs mer av en översättare av genren än goda språkligakunskaper och att erfarenhet av målspråkssamhället och av de miljöer som föräldraroch vårdare av barn ofta uppsöker är av stor betydelse för huruvida den översatta texten känns trovärdig för målspråksläsarna och därmed lyckas uppfylla sittinstruerande syfte..

In theory, the management control of maintenance functions is described as problematic due to the nature of the work performed in the unit. The purpose of this thesis is to examine these predicted problems in practice. Further,the thesis aims at identifying how these control problems may affect the relationships between the maintenance department and its internal customers. A case study has been conducted in one of Sweden?s largest industrial companies to investigate the said control problems in practice.

The municipality of Enköping is presently working out a new layout plan for the town of Enköping and new residences are planned in the harbour area. Because of these plans, the municipal energy company ENA Energi may have to move its location from the harbour to another part of the city.The aim of this degree project is to investigate the possibility of building a new CHP plant in another area of Enköping. The future demand on district heating and infrastructure at the new location have been projected. Humanitarian intervention is a concept that generates several problems in our time. The idea of humanitarian intervention concerns the modern norms of sovereignty and noninterventional principals. It also concerns the conventional norm, which declares that states are not allowed to interfere in other states? internal affairs. The use of military force to implement humanitarian intervention is restricted according to international law.

When Swedish authorities are to purchase or rent something, public procurement is used as a means to an end. Authorities as well as suppliers are subjects to the fact that Swedish law regarding public procurement regulates the form of procurement in one set of particular regulations (LOU) and the form of contracts in another set of general regulations (AvtL). Suppliers and purchasing authorities close a contract regarding the subject of procurement and the law of public procurement regulates when such a contract can be closed, simultaneously the law of contracts regulates when parties are held to contracts and when contracts are to be rescinded. I investigate in this essay what these two types of regulations can result in for the contracting parties. As it is today agreements that have been entered into wrongfully still are valid, even if a court of law nullifies the procurement and sentences the purchasing authority to make a new public procurement.

The concept of sustainable development has been pervasive in recent years and many organizations choose to implement sustainability and adapt their activities accordingly. The purpose of this study have been to explore how a collaboration on the use of waste materials may look to analyze what influences cooperation. A case study has been carried out examining a Swedish state regional project aimed at creating partnerships between actors and utilizing textile waste with the help of design. The study was conducted using qualitative methods and the collection of data has been done through interviews and by examining documents. The results show that there are seven key factors that affect cooperation: expectations, commitment, internal communication, a strong non-profit actor, individual treatment, personal networks and the diversity of actors.

Fokus i uppsatsen kommer primärt att ligga på charterturismen och resenärers motivationsfaktorer. Det centrala blir vad om styr människor när de konsumerar resor, det undersöks för att skapa en förståelse och dra paralleller till befintliga teorier och kunskaper. Genom att göra en nutida analys kommer vi att ta upp vad tidigare forskning säger om charter och vad Jönköping Airports resenärer säger om motivationen till charter, hösten 2013. Det finns mycket material från tidigare forskning som behandlar olika motivationsfaktorer när det gäller resor rent generellt men inte specifikt kopplat till charter. Därför är det ett område som är intressant att uppmärksamma.

I detta examensarbete försökte vi med hjälp av två vetenskapliga metoder, en enkät och ett antal intevjuer, skapa oss en bild över svenskarnas användning av, och beteende kring, spel till smartphones och surfplattor. Med andra ord en undersökning över hur och varför folk spelar på sin mobila enhet. En analys av tidigare forskning inom detta ämne jämfördes med resultaten från våra undersökningar med förhoppningen på att kunna få ett tillfredställande resultat. Våra resultat pekar på ett antal faktorer som gör att man väljer att spela på sin mobila enhet. Exempel på dessa faktorer är enkelheten att sätta igång och spela samt avsluta när och var som helst, för avslappning, för att det är socialt eller som ett rent tidsfördriv.

Under de senare åren har media visat på en stor konflikt mellan elektronikjättarna Apple och Samsung gällande olika immateriella rättigheter avseende så kallade smartphones och läsplattor. Ett av dessa immatrialrättsliga områden är designskydd. Frågan om hur och i vilken omfattning dessa produkter skyddas är därför aktuellt och det uppsatsen behandlar.Design skyddas i Sverige normalt genom Mönsterskyddslagen, men även Upphovsrättslagen kan tänkas skydda ett bruksföremåls utseende, som till exempel mobiltelefoner och läsplattor. Vid sidan av den svenska lagstiftningen finns även ett EU-rättsligt skydd från Mönsterskyddsförordningen.Upphovsrättslagen kan eventuellt tänkas ge skydd åt mobiltelefoners och läsplattors utseende, men rättsläget är osäkert. Det är något som författaren kritiserar då detta inkräktar på området för det normala skyddet för designskydd.
