In motorsports competition, safety reasons require that the vehicle is equipped with some form of protective roll cage. The roll cage should withstand the forces involved in a collision to protect the driver and the co-driver from the vehicle body deformation. The roll cage also works to protect the vehicle from excessive deformations to more easily make any repairs afterwards. For the roll cage to be certified and approved for motorsports competition, it requires that the cage is built after one of the recommended options. One of those options is to design the roll cage like a cross-construction at the driver and co-driver doors.

The purpose of this paper is to clarify and understand the difference between Brunius?, Zettervall's and Graebe's valueing of a historical building, the cathedral of Lund. Between 1833 and 1963 the cathedral of Lund went through three larger restorations. The character of the restorations however differs a lot between the three church architects, Brunius, Zettervall and Graebe. In a time of low interest for the Middle Ages and of many demolitions of churches in the countryside, Brunius stood out as a researcher and an enthusiast of that special time.

ABB är ett globalt företag med kontor och fabriker över hela världen och affärsenheten i Ludvika anses vara världscentrum för kraftöverföringsteknik. Enheten ABB Components i Ludvika har en avdelning som tillverkar kontrollskåp till transformatorer, denna produkt kallas för TEC. Produkten började utvecklas 1999 och har funnits tillgänglig på marknaden sedan 2002 i två olika modeller. Produktutvecklingen inom ABB ska ske effektivt och inom givna ramar för kvalitet, tid, kostnad och specifikationer. Det är även viktigt att hela företagets kompetens aktivt utnyttjas genom hela utvecklingsprocessen.

Denna uppsats behandlar en algoritm som löser linjära optimeringsproblem. Algoritmen bygger på en liknande idé som simplexalgoritmen men i denna kan startvärdet även vara en punkt inom tillåtet område eller på randen till detta område. Det behöver inte nödvändigtvis vara en hörnpunkt, vilket simplexalgoritmen kräver. Under algoritmens gång kommer iterationsvärdena att ligga på randen till det tillåtna området för att slutligen hamna i ett hörn. Därefter går iterationsvärdena från hörn till hörn tills slutligen optimum har nåtts.

Detta examensarbete beskriver processen för framtagandet av en ny design för det befintliga schemaläggningssystemet för räddningstjänsten. Ett av problemen med att schemalägga för personalen inom räddningstjänsten är att det är flera faktorer som måste tas hänsyn till. Några av dessa faktorer är vilken station de arbetar på, personalens kompetens, att det ska finnas personal på stationerna och arbetsroller. Syftet med examensarbetet var att skapa en ny design som uppskattas av de som arbetar med systemet. För att uppnå detta var de som schemalägger med och påverkade designen av systemet tidigt i designprocessen.Detta examensarbete innefattar en litteraturstudie, en förstudie, en intervjustudie, en fokusgrupp och två användartester.

This is a thesis about design of young stands of trees. A big source of inspiration has been Västerskog and Tor Nitzelius Park in Alnarp which both consists of a structure of squares. I wanted to examine if this type of planting could be valuable from an aesthetic and recreational point of view. One problem today is that many people believe that we have to wait for decades for a planting to grow up so that we can enjoy the ?ready result?.

The euthropthication of the Baltic Sea is a threat that is beginning to be taken seriously by the governments concerned. In Sweden, regulations concerning the allowed nitrogen (N) concentration in the effluent water from wastewater treatment plants are being tightened up. The Rimbo wastewater treatment plant has been imposed to reduce the annual mean concentration of total N in the effluent water to levels below 15 mg l-1. A more and more common way to reduce the nitrogen level in wastewater is to let the water pass through a wetland. This study investigates the possibility to build this kind of wetland at the outlet of the Rimbo wastewater treatment plant.A prestudy of the topography, soil characteristics and groundwater flow indicates that the land area in question is well suited for the construction of a wetland.

The landscape is a great asset for Göteborg as a city and places in the landscape are much used by the public. This diploma work deals with the question of how nature in Göteborg can become more accessible and how a place in it can be supplemented with new landscape elements. It is a proposal for a new urban park at Björlanda peninsula in the western part of Hisingen, Göteborg, which today belongs to the Swedish Armed Forces and is a part of the Nature-2000 area "Nordre älvs estuarium". The reason for choosing this place is that it is the only area around the costal area in Göteborg that has not been built on and that it contains a very varied landscape. The proposal is presented as three different broschures, dated 10-20 years ahead: A map of a possible system of urban parks including a detail of such a park, Västra Hisingen (the western parts of Hisingen) The idea with a system of urban parks is to make the landscape generally more accessible and maybe open it for people that do not use it today. A broschure of the central area Välkommen, with my design proposal for an urban park at Björlanda peninsula The design aims to utilize the landscape elements water, mountains, vegetation and sky and to intensify the experience of them. Frågeställningen tillprojektet var hur man kan utforma en villa.Jag har undersökt vilka A-ritningar, K-ritningar samt statiska beräkningar som behövs för attproducera en platsbyggd villa.Resultatet visar färdiga ritningar till bygghandlingar vilket betyder enplans villa medattraktiv/öppen planlösning och en stark byggnadsstil med tydliga inflytanden av funkisstil.Detta tydliggörs genom pulpettaken, och fasaden som är delvis liggande panel, delvis vitputsad.Yta: 153 kvmAntal rum: 6, varav sovrum: 3.

BAKGRUNDEN OCH PROBLEMDISKUSSION: Design som företeelse har fått alltstörre betydelse för näringslivet och samhället i helhet. Allt fler företag inser designenspositiva inverkan på verksamheten och väljer att arbeta medvetet med det. I samband med attbyggnader ökar kraven på designens funktion, räcker estetiken inte längre, designen måsteprestera mer och visa att den är praktisk och effektiv att tillföra i en byggnad. Designassocieras ofta med stora kostnader men vilka positiva värdeeffekter skapar designen igengäld?SYFTE: Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva de värden design kan framkalla i enbyggnad, samt att försöka förklara sambandet mellan betraktaren och vilka värden den villframhäva i design.

The aim of the thesis is to study young peoples, defined as boys and girls between 14 and 16 years old, attitudes to library in two municipalities. Notwithstanding the fact that young people, and children, often is given priority in library work, the reality often seems to be another. Attitudes are founded primarily in childhood and therefore it is of great importance to examine how young people regard libraries. Besides studying former research about young people and libraries that has been performed on library and information science, we also have been using concepts and theories from social science. We give a brief outline of youth research and its development and look at official records and legislation to see if and in what context young people are mentioned.

In this essay we have approached the problem with retailer brands that copy marketing leaders to get consumers attention in the storeshelf. We have sought to explore how much a designed package would change the consumers opinion of a brand and if this effect is different depending on if the brand is a retailer brand or a market leader. Also we sought to find if this effect would be greater with a salient color on the package. We made a quantitative study and with regression analysis we found that a designed package did have effect on the consumers opinion of the brand, and that the design with the salient color made the biggest effect..

This report describes the design and implementation of a multi-master, packet based protocol for small and tiny microcontrollers where resources are limited. The protocol was named "Tiny Controller Network" or TCN for short. The protocol is meant mainly as a control bus for automation and sensor acquisition applications but due to its flexibility can also be used for other purposes as well. It borrows some of its functionality and design ideas from the well known CAN bus and Modbus but also has a number of major differences like the use of standard hardware and time synchronisation. One of the key aspects during the design was the use of very little system resources and common on-chip hardware peripherals like a UART.

GCM is a product information management system which handles data for consumer packaged goods. GCM was developed during the middle of the nineties and was acquired by Prevas AB in 2004. The GCM application relies on the services provided by the organization GS1, which supplies global specifications and validations for trade items across several sectors. GCM is updated regularly due to the frequent changes in specifications from GS1. However, the overall graphical user interface design has not been redesigned during these years.This dissertation studies possible improvements for the webpage that handles product data in GCM.

Today, many people have the need of contemplation due to higher stress levels in every day life compared to before. By examining the conditions of a secularized place of contemplation in greenbelts close to residential areas, I hope to contribute to a more balanced picture of how we utilize our greenbelts in the future. This kind of place is not a common phenomenon in our everyday outdoor environment.I have taken my starting-point in the traditional memorial and by that means been able to study the design of an existing delicate environment intended for mourning and contemplation. In this paper I review foremost the secularized place of contemplation in greenbelts close to residential areas from two central questions. First I examine its possibility to function as a place for mourning and contemplation.
