Introduction: First line managers in the public sector, are under a great pressure from both senior management, leadership, politicians and often from a large group of employees. Few studies have been made on the first-linemanagers psychosocial work environment, even though in the studies found that the manager affects their employees work environment.Aim: How first line managers in municipal elderly describes the psychosocial work environment on the basis of demand-control - support model.Methods: The study was conducted through individual interviews with six first line managers. Respondents were recruited through a strategic selection in a medium-sized municipality in Västernorrland. The interviews were conducted using an interview guide. Qualitative content analysis with an deductive approach was used as a method of interpretation of the results.Results: First line managers point out the difficulty in balancing the requirements and several managers also mentioned the importance of having clear role descriptions and objectives.

Studiens syfte är att beskriva och analysera omständigheter som inverkar på flickor och pojkars könsöverskridande val till gymnasiet. Vidare är syftet att få kunskap om dessa elevers upplevelser i samband med det könsöverskridande valet och under utbildningsperioden. Studiens empiri samlades in genom kvalitativa intervjuer. Detta sätt ansågs mest lämpligt då det var individers erfarenheter, upplevelser och tankar vi ville studera. Genomförandet skedde på intervjupersonernas skola, på en studie- och yrkesvägledares kontor, och tog mellan 15 och 45 minuter.

Dagens utveckling inom distansutbildning har lett till att det blir allt viktigare att välja en lärplattform som är anpassat till företagets eller organisationens verksamhet. Nya effektiva utbildningsmetoder som komplement till den traditionella utbildningen möjliggörs av den nya tekniken där e-learning har en framträdande roll. E-learning gör att lärandet inte längre är beroende av ett fysiskt klassrum och en specifik tidpunkt utan utbildningen blir mer flexibel, interaktiv samt fokuserar mer på själva på lärandet.Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att kartlägga hur ett LMS bör vara utformat vad det gäller design, funktion och användbarhetsfaktorer för att underlätta val av lärplattform (LMS). Studien har visat att det designmässigt är lämpligt att följa vedertagna författares riktlinjer ? oavsett om det gäller LMS eller design av en funktion i ett LMS.

Bakgrund: Det är intressenterna som tillsammans samskapar platsvarumärket, dock har invånarnas betydelse i sammanhanget hittills inte uppmärksammats. Relationen mellan Kalmar kommun och invånarna påverkar platsens kultur, image och platsidentitet. Dessa element är sammanvävda och utgör platsvarumärket, vilket innebär att varumärkning bör ses som en dynamisk företeelse. Kalmar kommun saknar dock riktlinjer över hur de ska involvera invånarna i varumärkesarbetet, så att de tillsammans kan forma och förmedla ett attraktivt Kalmar. Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är dels att undersöka hur invånarna kan relateras till platsens kultur, platsidentitet och image, vilka utgör platsvarumärket. Dels att föreslå riktlinjer gällande hur Kalmar kommun ska involvera invånarna i kommunens varumärkesarbete. Metod: Studien bygger på fallstudie av Kalmar kommuns varumärkesarbete.

This thesis work resulted in a template for how the thermal spray process can be controlled through robot programs. The robots today and their programs need to be replaced, therefore a new structure which can be matched with the new robot systems is needed. The work is limited to only concern structured programming on the new robots on Thermal Spray Centre (TC) with the programming language Rapid. The basic data for the program was retrieved from interviews with concerned personnel at TC, from studies on process parameters for thermal spray and from existing specifications at Volvo Aero Corporation (VAC). The thesis work briefly describes the process thermal spray and the four methods used at VAC.

Tillskottet av nya mäklarkontor ökar årligen och varje år examineras flera hundra nya fastighetsmäklare. Att säljare jämför fastighetsmäklare har kanske varit vanligast i storstäderna, men i takt med att konkurrensen hårdnar även på mindre orter upplever vi att det blivit ett allt vanligare fenomen även där. Vi kommer båda från en småstad och är inte främmande för tanken att flytta till en större stad som nyutexaminerade fastighetsmäklare. Vi frågar oss vilka faktorer som är avgörande vid valet av fastighetsmäklare i en storstad kontra småstad? Kan vi se några skillnader? Avsikten med uppsatsen är att ge oss en ökad kunskap om vilka faktorer privatpersoner anser viktiga vid valet av fastighetsmäklare vid en villaförsäljning.Materialet bygger på två parallella enkätundersökningar, en i Hudiksvall och en i Stockholmsamt intervjuer med branschfolk.

This BSc thesis is an introductory step to the collaboration between the Swedish zoo Skansen and Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). It constitutes of an inventory of the Nairobi Animal Orphanage (AO), a facility that cares for injured and abandoned wildlife species in Kenya. Through the cooperation with Skansen, the KWS will improve their management of the AO. The aim of the inventory and BSc theses is to evaluate the management of black-backed jackal (Canis mesomelas), lion (Panthera leo) and patas monkey (Erythrocebus patas) regarding their biological needs. The general enclosures, routines and feeding at the AO are also evaluated since they have a great influence on the management of captive animals.

Background: Overweight is a health problem throughout the western world. Child health care (CHC) nurses and school nurses meet many children and their families and have the opportunity to work with prevention. The purpose of this study was to investigate the CHC - and school nurse´s experiences and reflections in the work on obesity in children. The aim was also to investigate the structural conditions CHC- and school nurse feel the need for this work. Method: The study had a qualitative approach with descriptive design.

Children of school age, who have just moved to Sweden can either start in a preparation class or in a normal class. There is no Swedish law or national policy that determines how new children will start and continue their education in Swedish schools. The decision is up to the schools or the communes.This study investigates what kind of educational methods teachers, from a sample of two different schools, are using to educate the newly-arrived students and if these methods are making any contribution to integrating these children into the Swedish school system. The study will raise questions like, how are the new students introduced to the Swedish school, what is the purpose of having the children in preparation class as opposed to normal class, and what methods do the interviewed teachers use to integrate the new children into the school system?Interviews were conducted with four teachers, an associate professor and a senior lecturer in education, who has done several years of research about children from abroad coming in to the Swedish school system.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to investigate the information use in teacher education students? degree projects. The first study is a reference analysis used to categorize the cited sources in 33 degree projects from the teacher education program at one Swedish university. The aim was to find out what types of sources were used, in particular the amount of citations to scholarly publications. The results of the reference analysis showed that the majority of sources used were text books.

I have chosen to write this essay on language development in a preparatory class due to the fact that I live in a city where diversity is big and newly arrived students from different countries are constantly increasing in schools. My study has been made in a preparatory class in Södertälje. The National Agency for Education highlights the deficiencies in preparatory classes and believes that education is not adapted to each student's knowledge and maturity and it is therefore difficult for students to reach the goals in school. According to studies by the National Agency for Education, it appears that many newly arrived students do not recieve study guide in their native language, a resource that they are entitled to. Teachers and principals do not take charge of  students knowledge from previous school attendance in their home countries such as mathematics, history and other subjects.

Aim: The aim of this study was to describe intensive care nurses? experiences communicating with patients during mechanical ventilation.Methods/design: A qualitative interview study. Interviews where analyzed using descriptive content analysisSetting: Nine intensive care nurses from two different intensive care units were interviewed using a semi structured interview guide.Background: Past research has shown that patients during mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit, feel very vulnerable and the helplessness of being unable to speak. These patients feels that they are completely dependent on the nurses and their competence. It has been shown to be very important that the patient feels included, acknowledged and respected.Results: The analyzed data resulted in a theme; through communication strive to preserve patients´ dignity and three main categories; create relationship to the patient, minimize patients´ vulnerability and don´t give up.

Att skapa karaktärer i en animation eller ett spel som publiken får sympati för och känner är levande, är ett avancerat och komplext arbete. Det finns dessutom en mängd olika tips och råd för att skapa en karaktär, att det kan kännas övermäktigt och svårt att sålla i. I denna uppsats kommer syftet därför ligga i att undersöka om det finns en fungerande formel för att skapa en lyckad och livfull karaktär. Syftet kommer även att bestå i att undersöka om denna formel av att skapa en karaktär går att tillämpa på både film- och spelkaraktärer. Dessa frågeställningar kommer att besvaras genom en litteraturstudie följt av en empirisk studie, ?Science fiction in space?, där dessa tips och råd kommer att prövas för att se om den formel som här lyfts fram är lyckosam.

Purpose: The purpose of the study reported in this thesis is to addto the knowledge concerning what public librarians do to meet theneeds of unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors, thereby helpingthem to develop and establish themselves in a new environment.What tasks, activities and tools do the librarians have at theirdisposal? What problems do they encounter? What values, normsand attitudes guide their work? Method: The thoughts andexperiences of six public librarians have been captured throughqualitative semi-structured interviews, the result of which has beenthematically analysed using notions of social capital and socialexclusion. Findings: Unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors facea number of challenges which the public library with its librarians,collections and various activities can assist in coping with byproviding the children with opportunities to increase their socialcapital and decrease the risk of social exclusion. Researchlimitations: It has for several reasons proven difficult to studyunaccompanied asylum-seeking children as a distinct group, whichis why this study also uses material that deals with refugees as awhole. A significant amount of the latter are undeniablyunaccompanied minors, an especially exposed and vulnerable typeof refugees.
