Säkra kommunikationskanaler i en distribuerad heterogen miljö

The systems environments of today are often distributed and heterogeneous. These kind of systems have several advantages but also disadvantages. One problem is how to keep them secure.The security problems in these environments are mainly due to the communication between the connected computers. It is relatively easy to tap these communication channels from information. There is also a need for the possibility to secure these channels from modification of sent information and to be able to verify the sender and receiver of information in a secure manner.

Rörelsens inverkan på barns inlärning : En studie om hur fysisk aktivitet påverkar barns inlärning utifrån ett fåtal lärare och elevers åsikter

The purpose of this investigation is to find out how the children?s exercises affect their learning capabilities. With exercise, I mean all kinds of movements, like physics, walks and games.The method I will use in this investigation is interviews, where I choose to interview both teachers and their pupils at a school which uses an exercise-program called röris. Röris is an exercise program which involves moving to music. I also choose to look at Bunkefloprojektet, were scientists has investigated how the power of concentration is affected by exercise.My conclusion from the interviews and the literature is that I can?t prove that the children?s exercises affect their learning capabilities.

As the companies of today are good at protecting themselves against external threats, but are having problems with internal threats, we focused on how information can be protected from ending up in the wrong hands. First and foremost to protect information from employees who might steal it and sell it to another company. Since the security investments needed are connected to the financial costs of implementing them we have tried to create a balance between the investments needed and the cost of implementing them. The different kinds of protection needed are first and foremost protection to make data less accessable, passwords and traceability. While it is hard for us to estimate the amount of money a company lose by the hour when the production stands still, we have not been able to use any of the excising models to calculate the profit of installing countermeasures.

The Game of Flow : En studie över spelandets effekter på reaktion, minne och perception

I denna studie är syftet att belysa vilka effekter som underhållningsspel kan ha på motivation och koncentration samt även undersöka om spel kan användas för att förbättra den kognitiva prestationen. Konkret ställs frågan vilka förändringar som sker i reaktion, korttidsminne och perception efter att ha spelat Gradius 3 samt vilka orsaker som ligger bakom dessa förändringar. Resultatet pekar entydigt mot att spelandet har en positiv effekt och förbättrar den kognitiva förmågan. Särskilt när det går bra i spelet och man får ett flow kan prestationen maximeras, vilket överensstämmer med Csíkszentmihályis flowteori. Det flow som uppstår i spelet ger en euforisk känsla av tillfredsställelse som stimulerar motivation och koncentration, vilka båda är förutsättningar för bättre prestation.

Doktorander och e-böcker ? en användarundersökning

The purpose of this thesis is to study the usage of and attitudes towards electronic books among graduate and PhD students at Karlstad University. The main questions are: How do graduate and PhD students use electronic books? To what extent are electronic books used compared to printed books? To find the answers, a user study was carried out at Karlstad University library. The results show that a majority of the respondents are aware of the possibility to use electronic books but prefer to use printed ones if they have to choose. Many respondents also complained about difficulties reading a text on the computer screen.

The purpose of this study is to examine escort-business with a focus on sales of BDSM-services (Bondage and Discipline, Dominance and Submission, Sadism and Masochism). The study is based on qualitative interviews with three informants providing BDSM-services, as well as a survey with 96 men who requested domination of escorts (the survey was carried out by an escort in the 1980s). The analysis of this material resulted in the identification of three themes on which the study centers: The personal experiences of the three escorts, the interaction between the escorts and the clients, and the changes over time when it comes to the performance of BDSM-services. The study has a gender perspective with a focus on feminism and queer-theory. The important conclusions are that there are several differences between prostitution having a focus on BDSM-services and other prostitution.

This thesis aims to discuss how an information system and its users may adapt to each other. The main discussion is how to create an information system that is adaptable without losing its organising properties. The thesis uses a holistic approach to the topic and the areas being dealt with are information architecture, interactive information retrieval and information searching. Hållbar Ö ? en analys av möjligheterna att försörja ett modellösamhälle i Stilla Havet med solel

The goal of this paper is to provide a model for a sustainable electricity system to an island, in the Pacific Ocean near the equator.The method which has been used is to model supply and demand of electricity in the computer program Stella, through the creation of a dynamic system that balances them against each other. The result from the model will then be used to calculate the electricity price per kWh for the island.The result of the work is that electricity from solar energy is comparable with electricity produced from oil, if the oil pays for all its external costs, and the potential for pumped hydro storage plants is located. It also requires that consumers of electricity can be their own producers to avoid the expenditure of tax and reducing the cost of distribution. But since oil is a finite resource and has had a rising cost in recent years, while solar energy has had a declining cost, perhaps this will be a more competitive solution in the future.

Lekens funktion för språkinlärning hos flerspråkiga barn

This is a qualitative study that explores how bilingual children develop their language through play. The study is based on observations and interviews conducted in a preschool located in a multicultural area of Stockholm.The purpose of using two qualitative methods; observations and interviews, was to get a bigger picture of the study area. The results of the study, illustrated through observations and interviews that I have conducted, shows that the game has great role for bilingual children's language development. Furthermore, the results show that the informants are aware of the importance of play for bilingual children's language development especially when they are talking about investing in the promotion of children's language by using different methods and materials in their pre activity for various games and activities.One of my conclusions is that bilingual children learn the language during both free play and structured play especially when educators are present and aware of the activities that they perform. It is also important to see children as individuals to cover all the needs of children at different activities.

To achieve this a literary study hasbeen made and as a complement the planning of a passive house was completed.The result of a primary study of the rules and regulations that effect passive houses in Swedenshows that the user?s influence on passive houses is a completely unregulated area. Even thoughthere is no regulation, a need for some general knowledge of the passive house concept has beenexpressed.To further investigate how the users? knowledge and habits affect the energy consumption and ifthere is a difference between different households? energy consumption , three main factors havebeen identified.

This report describes the process of developing a user-friendly and responsive archive website. The website is a Hi-fi prototype and was created for the company JG Communications, to serve as an archive for their customers? style guidelines. To create this website I have used HTML5 and CSS3 to make it responsive for various computer screens. I have also used PHP and some JavaScript to make some of the functions and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to make design elements for the prototype.

Utvärdering av solcellsanläggningen på Universeum

The main aim of this master thesis was to see the process of an interactive online reference service from idea to final product. The reference service we have studied is developed and used by the Library of the National Institute for Working Life in Stockholm, Sweden and goes by the name phibi. Our goal was to review the whole realization process from the reasons why a service like this was created, how the service was introduced and implemented inside the organisation and finally what the result and consequences were for both the library staff and for the users of the service. Phibi is designed to be a tool that fosters communication between the library staff and the remote users where the users get the opportunity to be helped with their questions by the library staff although they are not physically present in the library. To understand the process we conducted a case study with 11 interviews of the library staff, the superior and the initiator to phibi.

Tv-spelets berättande : En diskussion kring den ludologiska teoribildningen

Det här examensarbetet undersöker tidigare teoribildning inom Tv-spelsforskningen och i synnerhet kring Tv-spelets berättande. Eftersom forskning inom Tv-spelsområdet är relativt nytt är också själva teorierna under konstruktion vilket leder till att en del antaganden kan diskuteras. Därför granskar och diskuterar jag i den här uppsatsen de teorier och teoretiker som menar att film och litteraturteorier inte bör användas inom Tv-spelsforskning och att det inte är intressant att analysera spelets berättande. Teoribildningen som gör detta kallas ludologi och driver en tes om att Tv-spel i egenskap av nytt medium istället bör undersökas mer funktionellt.            Den här uppsatsen diskuterar hur ludologerna argumenterat i sin framställning av denna tes och huruvida det är konstruktivt att smala av forskning genom att utesluta teorier från andra forskningsfält. Detta görs med hjälp av ett huvudspelexempel i form av Bastion (SuperGiant Games, 2010) som rent funktionellt är ett relativt enkelt spel, men som samtidigt har ett speciellt sätt att berätta på.
