Previous research and patient complaints to the Swedish Patient Support Committee shows that there is a lack of substance in the patient-nurse relationship. This may suggest that it can be difficult for health care to live up to health-care law which requires it to be of good quality, based on dignity and respect and designed so that the patient is an active participant and can make their own decisions when it comes to their health care. For a better understanding of what a dignified patient-nurse relationship is, this study aims to clarify what the patient values as good patient-nurse relationship and describe how they have experienced the patient-nurse relationship during their stay at an emergency care department. The study is a descriptive cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, where the population consisted of patients who were cared for at an emergency care department in the County of Västmanland, Sweden during 2007. The sample consisted of 93 patients which were asked to answer a questionnaire.

Because of among other things the globalization and a focus on core competencies knowledge has become very important for the companies of today, especially for research-intensive companies. The problem is that the companies become more sensitive to how knowledge is created and spread, that is, how organizational knowledge is created. Especially sensitive are companies who are small, young and research-intensive. The purpose with this thesis is to explore how organizational knowledge is created in small, young and research intensive companies.The theory is based on a five-phase model of organizational knowledge creation and four modes of knowledge conversion described by Nonaka and Takeuchi (1995). These concepts constitute the foundation of the analytical model used in the thesis.The study is carried out by qualitative, highly structured interviews with low standardization.

The proponents for conscience wants to get a clause that will allow the health professionals to due. scruples waive certain duties. Swedens decision makers has despite pressure from the Christian De-mocrats and the Sweden Democrats decided not to implement freedom of conscience in health care. The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether Sweden has the obligation to provide for freedom of conscience in health care. Furthermore, it must be examined, whose rights according to the law will go first, health professionals right to freedom of conscience or the patient right to equal treat-ment.

Bedömning av smärta hos icke kommunicerbara patienter är en utmaning för intensivvårdssjuksköterskan. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur sjuksköterskor uppger att de bedömer smärta hos denna patientgrupp. En deskriptiv och jämförande tvärsnittsstudie gjordes med hjälp av en webbaserad enkät. Enkäten distribuerades till alla kliniskt verksamma intensivvårdssjuksköterskor (n=96, svarsfrekvens 75%) på två intensivvårdsavdelningar på Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala.De smärtparametrar som sjuksköterskorna ansåg viktigast var pulsstegring, blodtrycksstegring och mimik/ansiktsuttryck. Påbyggnadsutbildning eller uppdrag inom smärtområdet hade ingen signifikant betydelse för vilka smärtparametrar sjuksköterskorna uppgav som viktigast.

Syftet med denna studie är att synliggöra några lärares uppfattningar kring etik och moral samt hur läraren förmedlar etik och moral till sina elever. Därtill beskrivs några faktorer som dessa lärare uppfattar har betydelse för förmedlingen av etik och moral i skolan.Litteraturdelen består av källor från tidigare forskning, teoriböcker i ämnet samt statliga utgåvor kring skolans samhällsuppdrag. Den empiriska undersökningen bygger på en kvalitativ studie med utgångspunkt i den fenomenografiska ansatsen. Intervjuer från nio stycken lärare på grundskolans olika stadier har blivit underlag för studiens resultat. Studiens resultat visar att lärarens samhällsuppgift som värdegrundsförmedlare är både svår och komplex.

This bachelor's thesis examines three books in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The aim is to increase understanding for what Harry Potter could contribute in terms of morality in religious studies, and how the story about Harry Potter, as a popular literary phenomenon, can be helpful for this. Lawrence Kohlberg's theory of moral development is central to this essay.I have used an hermeneutic method for the analysis of the Harry Potter books. The result shows that the main character, Harry Potter, can be seen as kind of a role model when it comes to moral development. Pupils may benefit by reading this book series because it can open their eyes to life questions and moral values.

Background: The relation between work motivation and well-being are relatively well theoretically entrenched, but few studies have been conducted on nurses within psychiatry. Objective: The aim of the present study was to examine the differences in intrinsic work motivation (autonomy, competence, relatedness), mental health and burnout between young (?40 years) and older (>40 years) nurses employed in psychiatry. Method: The study was an observational study with a cross-sectional design and group comparisons, conducted as a survey. The sample constituted of 60 employed nurses.

    AbstractThe aim of the study was to describe factors of nurse?s experiences when they give NIV treatment to patients with acute respiratory failure in a lung department. Semi structured interview questions about how nurses experience to give NIV treatment on a ordinary lung department was done on 10 nurses, who work in a lung department were NIV treatment is given. Data were analyzed with content analysis. In the result there was shown two themes.

The object with the study of this literature was to describe differente programs of care and patients and relatives experience and opinion about the caring for patients with Anorexia Nervosa. The method the author used was a descriptive literature study based on imperial studies. The studies were based on 15 scientific articles within the chosen field. The results shows that these patients hade special needs to be seen and heard as individuals, involved in their own treatment, and have good contact with the caring staff. The study also shows which methods were mostly appreciated involving nurses, patients and relatives.

Bakgrund: Patienter som vårdas inom intensivvården befinner sig ofta i en situation som präglas av snabba fysiologiska förändringar där patientens vitala funktioner kontinuerligt måste övervakas och registreras. I intensivvårdens komplexa miljö utgör dokumentationen en viktig del för att upprätthålla en hög patientsäkerhet. Syfte: Att undersöka intensivvårdssjuksköterskors uppfattning om dokumentation. Metod: En empirisk deskriptiv studie har genomförts. Fokusgruppintervjuer användes för att inhämta data.

This study departs in a critique issued against the ethics of deconstruction that it does not provide good enough advice for how to turn its ehtics into "real life"-actions. Taking up the concept of moral practices as found in e.g. Alisdain MacIntyre, Stanley Hauerwas, James K.A. Smith, and Roland Spjuth, this study turns to medieval theologian Thomas Aquinas as a potential resource. Combining the teachings in Aquinas' Summa Thologica with a look into his life as a Domninican, a list of moral practices is put forth and analyzed in conjunction with Derrida's ethics.

The aim of this study was to get a greater comprehension of social welfare secretaries? notion of "good parenting" and furthermore how this is expressed in evaluations of investigations regarding care of children. The empirics in this qualitative study were collected with the help of a vignette containing relevant questions. Moreover interview questions were answered at seven occasions. The interviewees were social welfare secretaries that worked with evaluations of care of children.

I detta examensarbete utreds hur sex olika läroböcker framställer och presenterar etik och moral. Studien syftar till att undersöka vad etik och moral är enligt de undersökta läroböckerna och till att se vilket utrymme etik och moral får i förhållande till världsreligionerna och andra livsåskådningar i materialet. För att granska utrymmesaspekterna används en kvantitativ analys, där en sammanställning av antalet sidor och vilken typ av etik som framskrivs fokuseras. I tillägg till detta används en kvalitativ analysmetod för att undersöka vad etik och moral egentligen är enligt läroböckerna samt hur etik och moral framställs och vad denna framställning gör med textens innehåll. Den kvalitativa analysmetoden utgår från en framställningstypologi som Niklas Ammert[1] har framtagit för att granska läroboksinnehåll och denna sätts i kontrast till den rådande etikdidaktiska forskningen och till ämnesplanen för Religionskunskap 1 för gymnasiet och genom detta undersöks också om en selektiv tradition framträder i materialet. Etik och moral får i de undersökta läroböckerna likvärdigt utrymme som världsreligionerna var för sig.  Det totala utrymmet världsreligionerna upptar utgör nästan hälften av antalet sidor i varje lärobok, vilket inte rimmar med ämnesplanens lika stora fokus vid såväl etik och moral som vid världsreligionerna.

Background: Corporal punishment has been banned in Sweden since 1979. Child abuse is known to exist in all cultures and social classes in our society. Therefore the nurse must be aware of this working with children.Aim: The aim of this study was to describe how nurses' can identify signs and symptoms of child abuse.Method: A literature review of ten articles containing six quantitative and four qualitative studies published between the years of 2000 and 2012. A content analysis was performed where similarities emerged in themes and subthemes.Results: The findings were signs and symptoms which concerns physical, psychological and social behaviors seen in child abuse. Additional findings were; an insecurity and lack of knowledge among nurses working with children.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur närstående till intensivvårdspatienter upplevde en intensivvårdsavdelning (IVA) med fokus på delaktighet och omvårdnad. I studien intervjuades fem närstående. Intervjuerna analyserades med hjälp av en förenklad variant av meningskodning och tre kategorier som beskrev de närståendes upplevelser av IVA utvecklades. Kategorierna benämndes: "Första intrycket av IVA", Att leva med osäkerhet" och "Att vara delaktig". De närstående upplevde ett inre kaos när deras anhörig vårdades på IVA och använde sig av olika copingstrategier.
