The aim of the paper is to examine how public libraries can develop their services for children with ethnic minority backgrounds as a user group. This is achieved through studying the conditions for library services provided for children aged 9-12 in this group by public libraries in suburbs densely populated with ethnic minorities. The paper uses both a literature review and empirical research on the community libraries in Rinkeby and Rosengård as well as the town library in Lund. Services potentially available to these groups are analysed and discussed in the later chapters. The overall conclusion is that those services provided for ethnic minority children are largely the same as those provided for in children library services in general.

SammanfattningEn fallstudie gjordes bland medarbetare inom Hemtjänsten i Eskilstuna kommun. Syftet med studien är att erhålla förklaring och förståelse för medarbetares användning och attityder till de processkartor och dokument som ingår i det integrerade ledningssystemet (ILS) samt den förändring som införandet av dem innebär inom Hemtjänsten i Eskilstuna kommun. Syftet är även att erhålla förklaring och förståelse om medarbetarattityders påverkan påinförandet av ILS genom att utgå ifrån teorier om attitydkonstruktioner.     Studien utfördes med en metodkombination av enkäter och intervjuer bland medarbetare inom HEK. Drygt 14% av alla medarbetare inom HEK deltog i studien varav 59st svarade på enkäter och tre intervjuades.

Syfte och frågeställningarSyftet är att undersöka yoga och dess förhållande till hälsa ur ett fysiskt, psykiskt och själsligt perspektiv.Frågeställningarna är:- Hur beskrivs vägen mot tillståndet yoga enligt YogaSutras utifrån ett fysiskt, psykiskt och själsligt perspektiv?- Hur beskrivs tillståndet yoga enligt YogaSutras utifrån ett fysiskt, psykiskt och själsligt perspektiv?- På vilket sätt förhåller sig yoga enligt YogaSutras till hälsa utifrån ett fysiskt, psykiskt och själsligt perspektiv?MetodMetoden består av en textanalys ur en innehållsaspekt. Boken som används heter YogaSutras är skriven på sanskrit och översatt till engelska. Texten har bearbetats genom meningskoncentration och kategoriseras utifrån perspektiven fysiskt, psykiskt och själsligt, som en del utav det övergripande begreppet hälsa. Resultaten har sedan analyserat med stöd av Katie Erikssons hälsoteori.ResultatResultatet visar att YogaSutras beskriver olika metoder och tekniker som individen kan utföra på vägen mot det slutgiltiga tillståndet yoga.

The starting point for the present study is that the physical environment can enhance the learning processes of children. We want to contribute to more focus being placed on this within library and information sciences. Our main aim is to illustrate how the physical environment can facilitate the learning of children. In order to achieve our aim, we examine a concrete physical environment, namely the children?s department at the main library in Kungsbacka.

Syftet med examensarbetet är att synliggöra arbetet med barn med funktionshinder på en integrerad avdelning i förskolan. Vi fördjupar oss i ämnet dels genom en kvalitativ observationsstudie och dels genom intervjuer med personalen på avdelningen, samt biträdande rektor. Barngruppen är åldersblandad med 14 platser varav sex platser är för barn med funktionshinder. Vi har tagit del av tidigare forskning och litteratur som belyser barn i behov av särskilt stöd, specialpedagogik, normalitet-avvikelse, empati, social samvaro mellan barn i integrerade miljöer samt invandrarfamiljers syn på funktionshinder, då förskolan ligger i ett invandrartätt område. En del av materialet behandlas utifrån det sociokulturella perspektivet.

The purpose of this study is to examine if digital public libraries are serendipitous environments. Serendipity in this instance is defined as finding something unexpected and valuable, while searching for something else.A survey was conducted at two Swedish digital public libraries, where the patrons were asked to fill in a questionnaire online. The questions were based on the work on serendipitous digital environments by Lori McCay-Peet, as well as considerations of human factors that could possibly influence serendipity.The result indicate that a majority of patrons experience serendipity at the digital library, although it?s still more common to do so at the physical library or on other web sites. The result also confirms the importance of taking human factors into account when studying serendipity.

By submitting a questionnaire to all professions within the groups I have tried to find similarities and differences in their statements from both structured and unstructured questions. The study is an attempt to contribute knowledge about how these groups can be understood and developed, based on a special education perspective, systems theory and sense of coherence (KASAM). The results shows that there is a consensus among the majority of staff opinions of the systems? opportunities as well as dilemmas.

While almost 23 percent of the students in the Swedish upper secondary school are foreigners, only a fraction of the school libraries? collections consists of literature written in other languages than Swedish or English. This study examines how five school librarians experience the task of working with literature composed in foreign languages in the multicultural and multilingual school of today. The results of the qualitative interviews are analyzed in relation to the legislation and policy documents that the school libraries are working by, and also in relation to the theoretical framework of sociocultural theory and the theories on second language acquisition developed by linguist Jim Cummins.The study shows that while multilingualism is discussed as an important matter in the legislation and policy documents that the school libraries work by, the librarians in this study largely view the question of foreign literature as peripheral. Most part of the librarians connects first language reading to leisure-time activities rather than curricular activities, and stresses that the Swedish language should be prioritized in Swedish schools.

The SAB-system (Klassifikationssystem för svenska bibliotek) was created almost a hundred years ago and has often been viewed as insufficient among many academic libraries. KB (Kungliga Biblioteket) has therefore decided to change to DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) which means that the Swedish libraries are now facing a challenge that involves a change to a new classification system. This is a comparable situation that occured when the SAB-system was created. The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine the Swedish library sector´s approach to a new classification system, first to the SAB-system and then to DDC.

The purpose of this investigation is to study how librarians experience bookcrossing. We focused on the two following questions: Which variations are there in librarians conceptions of bookcrossing as literature exchange and reading support activity? Which variations are there in librarians conceptions of bookcrossing compared to other methods of literature exchange and reading support? Bookcrossing is an international book club where you share your books by leaving them at public places. The thesis is focused on librarians? conceptions and not the conceptions of members of bookcrossing.

In this two years master?s thesis I examine the library?s representation of research and its influence upon the relationship between the library practice and the research practice. I also intend to find out what controls the representation and if it is possible to see changes in the representation over time. My source material has been texts published in the Swedish library journal ? and social domain ? Biblioteksbladet during the last decennium (2001?2011).

SammanfattningDe flesta kommunala arbetsplatser strävar idag efter att skapa jämlika arbetsplatser där grupper som tidigare inte fanns representerade blir integrerade. Officiell statistik ger en fingervisning om att det finns mycket arbete kvar att göra, både på nationell nivå och inom Borås Stad för att nå en större jämlikhet. Vid nyrekryteringar ges organisationer en chans att förändra sin struktur, och även om det är en stor utmaning att se över rekryteringsprocessenskravprofiler och urvalsfaktorer, vilka ofta styrs av vanor, tradition och kultur, är det här man måste påbörja arbetet mot jämlikhet.Syftet med denna uppsats är att belysa rekryteringsprocessen inom kommunal sektor med fokus på upplevda förutsättningar och hinder för jämlikhetsarbetet i denna process utifrån ett rekryteringsperspektiv.För att besvara vårt syfte har vi valt att använt oss av en kvalitativ ansats medsemistrukturerade intervjuer som grund för att få ett kvalitativt djup men ändå ha kvar viss struktur på intervjuerna.De slutsatser som vi presenterar i vår uppsats är flera men bl.a. att den existerande normen i samhället inom offentlig sektor där yrken på lägre positioner är kvinnodominerade och harlåg status. Detta utgör ett grundläggande hinder för att kunna bedriva en rekrytering ur ett jämlikhetsperspektiv.

Bakgrund: Sjukgymnaster undersöker och behandlar personer med muskel- och ledproblem. En viktig del i undersökningen och utvärderingen av behandlingen av dessa patienter är mätning av aktiv och passiv ledrörlighet. För att mäta ledrörlighet används ofta en goniometer. Inom sjukgymnastiken finns det ett behov av en goniometer som gör att man kan använda samma referens vid varje mätning. Om man kan använda horisontalplanet som referens minskar beroendet av ett korrekt ögonmått och därmed minskas risken för fel.

The purpose of this thesis was to find out whether the main class C (religion) in the Swedish classification system Klassifikationssystem för svenska bibliotek is well adapted to classify materials published in or imported to Sweden, and handled by Swedish libraries today. The questions we put to ourselves were:1. How easy to understand, and how useful is the main class C religion today?2. What, in the main class C, is satisfactory?3. What, in the main class C, is inconsistent, anachronistic or incorrect?4. What, in the main class C, is in need of change or renewal?The method that was used was a number of interviews with librarians and cataloguers. We have interviewed eight librarians from six different libraries, of different types, but all with a relatively large collection of religious materials.Though all of our respondents have expressed a feeling that all the major religions deserve equal treatment in the classification system and a similar division of space, after some pondering on the subject, our respondents have agreed that a larger space for Christianity is warranted considering the composition of the current collections and publication. Our respondents have in some cases expressed that there is a lack of instructions as to how the subdivisions of the main class C (religion) is meant to be used.

Marknaden för Socially Responsible Investments (SRI)-fonder har utvecklats kraftigt de senaste åren, men metoderna bakom sammansättningen av dessa fonder skiljer sig åt. Fem metoder som kan användas för detta är; negativ screening, positiv screening, temafonder, integrerade miljöaspekter och helt hållbara fonder. Hur dessa metoder används och kombineras kommer att påverka fondernas möjlighet till finansiell prestation. I den här uppsatsen undersöker vi vilka metoder som används vid sammansättningen av SRI-fonder och hur processen skiljer sig åt från konventionella fonder.Vi har undersökt dessa fem ovannämnda metoder för sammansättning av SRI-fonder. Negativ screening är av dessa metoder den mest använda bland fondbolagen.
