Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva och förklara hur processen av att omvandla en invention till en innovation kan se ut. Detta genom att granska de olika steg som lyfts fram som centrala inom existerande teorier kring innovationsprocesser. Vidare syftar vi till att utifrån dessa teorier undersöka om de fullt ut kan användas för att förklara ett företags fall eller framgång vid en innovationsprocess. Metod: Vi har utfört en abduktiv fallstudie där vi samlat primärdata dels genom personliga intervjuer, dels via telefonintervjuer. Sekundärdata kommer från internet i form av de berörda företagens officiella hemsidor, samt presentationsmaterial från företaget True.

The report is a thesis work of a bachelor mechanical engineer program, in the field product development and design.The project is a study of the development opportunities within drive belt for a gear driven gearbox to one of Husqvarnas petrol powered hedge trimmers. A big part of the project was also to find combinations of materials for all components in the gearbox, to reduce weight and maintain or improve the performance of the system. Belt drive was of interest to investigate as an alternative solution to the current design that can reduce wear on the system at a performance test performed in the company before the product is released to market.

The purpose of this case study was to gain an understanding of how companieslike our case study object Memoto who developed a physical product which gets added-value fromdigital product-related services looks upon product-centered communities as a way of buildingcustomer relationships. How Memoto looks upon incentives for participation in product-centeredcommunities was also examined.Our research indicated that firms in the start-up phase (which Memoto was when this study wasconducted) initially want to have more control over the process of innovation and hence have directcontact with end-customers. The reason for this is because they see a need to define the basis forfurther innovation work.

The essay is written at the request of Nyköping municipality park management by PatRadestedt who wanted a design proposal for one of the five courtyards at the Tessin Schoolin Nyköping. The Tessin School is located 2 miles from the center of Nyköping and the schoolhouses approximately 900 students. To make a design proposal for the courtyard that lies atthe canteen I decided from the outset that I wanted to take some of the Tessin SchoolStudents' opinions and wishes regarding their own outdoor spaces. I had a workshop witheight students from the arts program with the image orientation in which they had to drawand tell them what they wanted to do in the courtyard.
