In my study I have participated at the Fifth Dimension / Active Worlds site in Villa Gymnastiken in Ronneby, where I have worked both as an assistant to the project leader and as a researcher, but also as a participant together with the children. The children are working in a virtual world called Femtedim, created in a internet-based program named Active Worlds Education Universe. The Femtedim-world are bridging together two physical worlds in Ronneby and Copenhagen. My main focus is on an intervention that occurred in the 12th of March when the research-team in Copenhagen, which runs the project in Denmark, decided to create a new challenge for the children since some of them started to get bored. They added gravitation to the Femtedim-world, which lead to a few different reactions among the children. Most of the children didn´t like it and were very hostile towards the idea that they would not be able to fly around freely in the Femtedim-world.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the properties of the municipalities in Sweden that influence the choice of being a certified Fairtrade city. The independent variables which are used in the statistical analysis are municipal governance, local tax rate, whether there is an university and/or university college in the municipality, average income and higher education in the municipality. The variables are examined by logistic regression. Since there are no statistical data on ethical procurement, this exogenous variable isn?t included in the regression.

The aim of this study was to examine how newly qualified social workers from Linnaeus University in Kalmar feel that the school has prepared them with the professional skills to meet the demands that exist within social work. Social work education is a generalist training that will result in a professional qualification. With a qualitative approach eight newly qualified social workers were interviewed.We used the sociology of knowledge as an overall theoretical approach. We also used experience- based knowledge as a theoretical approach. One of the study's conclusion was that the graduates had difficulty linking theory to practice.

Integrerat växtskydd innefattar alla tänkbara åtgärder för att ha kontroll på skadedjur och sjukdomar inom odlingen. Detta samtidigt som den kemiska bekämpningen hålls till ett minimum. Enligt EU-direktivet 2009/128/EG ska alla EUs medlemsländer, inklusive Sverige, tillämpa integrerat växtskydd från och med år 2014. Arbetet behandlar integrerat växtskydd i svenska jordgubbsodlingar. Både åtgärder som i dagsläget används av odlarna, liksom vilka åtgärder inom IPM som finns beskrivna inom litteraturen. Rådgivare aktiva inom jordgubbsodlingen delar i arbetet med sig av sina tankar kring integrerat växtskydd. Den huvudsakliga slutsatsen är att ökad kunskap behövs på flera olika plan.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to analyse how adult students in Swedish adult education seek information for school tasks. The focus is on how they use the public library and electronic information sources and their reflection on information and sources in this process. Also of interest in the study is the help they receive from staff in the public library and their teacher. Methods used in collecting and analysing data for this study were of qualitative nature.

Arbetet ger en lösning till problem som uppkommer vid spel över nätverk orsakade av nätverksfördröjning. Ett vanligt problem är konsistensfel, olika spelare ser olika speltillstånd på sina skärmar. Lokal fördröjning är en teknik för att undvika uppkomsten av inkonsistenser. Genom att låta en spelarhandlings effekt fördröjas lokalt ges handlingen ett försprång över nätverket. Då ökar sannolikheten att båda parterna utför handlingen samtidigt.

Intimate partner violence against women has gone from a concealed family affair to a public issue. The health care services are often those who first come in contact with abused women, despite this many women are not identified as victims of domestic violence. The purpose of this study was to describe nursing care of abused women and factors influencing the care. The study was conducted as a literature review where 18 articles were analyzed. The result showed the importance of the nurses? role in screening for abused women.

This study draws upon the framework for analyzing the discourse of a science classroom introduced by Mortimer and Scott (2003). It has been used for many studies before on high school youths, but never on adults. Therefore, this study focuses on the interaction between teacher and students in an adult education on high school level in physics, and how students can change the classroom discourse. Observations took place in two different schools for adults, in four different teaching groups. The result was analyzed by pattern of interactions, communicative approach, teaching purpose, type of student questions and their effect on the classroom discourse.

Vi har försökt se på problemet från flera olika synvinklar och inhämtat information från olika aktörer som verkar för en säkrare skoteråkning. Bakgrunden är att det ska vara ett nöje att åka skoter och inte en onödig stor risk att råka ut för en olycka.(Nollvisionen) Vi har intervjuat poliser, försäkringsbolag och körskola för att få en bred syn på skoterproblemen. För att kunna förebygga olyckor eller förbättra chansen att klara sig om olyckan är framme har vi tex. tittat på åtgärder som berör flytoverall, mobiltelefon, alkolås eller skotrarnas hastighet. Hur ser skoterolyckorna ut statistiskt.

The association between social parameters (i.e. socio-economy and level of education) and voting behaviour has been reviewed and analysed based on data from municipal council elections in Stockholm and Gothenburg in 2002. Some social scientists argue that the class voting is in decline and that new social cleavages have emerged. However, by using regression analysis techniques, this study implies a strong dependence of voting behaviour on social parameters, such as socio-economic status (SES) and level of education. Socio-economy appears to be a dominant predictor in the analysis.

The purpose of this study has been to describe and analyze how seven Swedish preschool teachers and two special education teachers think and work with children who show a lack of social skills. The study method has been semi-structured interviews with the educators which have been analyzed and sorted under different themes/categories. The theoretical framework used in this study is sociocultural, relational and categorical perspectives. These perspectives have been chosen in order to better understand how teachers see their role in supporting children in need of special support. The environment in the preschool is found to be of great help and the teachers? approach is of great importance.The research emphasizes the importance of integrating thinking, feeling and behavior.

The need for second language learning is increasing in today?s multicultural and globalized society, and adult studies are becoming more common. Teachers must encourage all students, and all schools need to promote equality. Motivation is one of the most important factors for positive learning and progress, and it can be helpful for second language teachers to know more about this subject.
