The automotive market is currently undergoing a historical change where stricter emission legislations and ever increasing fuel costs have intensified the search for effective alternatives to the conventional internal combustion engine, which has resulted in a substantial trend towards electrification of powertrains. Storage of electrical energy is the fundamental component in this technology where the lithium-ion batteries are currently considered as the most appropriate solution. Lithium-ion batteries, however, as other types of batteries, can only be used efficiently and durably within a specific temperature range.This Master thesis has been carried out in collaboration with Electroengine in Sweden AB, situated in Uppsala, which has an ongoing project regarding development of a modular battery system for electric powertrains. The project is at a stage where an initial prototype has been developed which provides the foundation for this thesis. The study has addressed the battery system performance from a thermal perspective, in order to validate the ability of the system to create a thermally serviceable environment for the lithium-ion battery cells.

An emerging trend within the construction industry is the expectation of the customer to experience and sense the product, maybe even in a customized manner. The latter trend would extend the necessity of incorporating not only function and aesthetics, but also perception and sensation. To meet this trend while at the same time improve the productivity the use of information technology such as BIM and technical platforms has increased in construction projects. Nevertheless, in spite of large investments, the construction industry has not managed to increase the effectiveness and productivity as much as other industries. Evident is that successful use of information technology depend on the integration and collaboration of various experts in a continuous and dynamic process.

This is a feasibility study that examines various aspects of building a wind farm on Malmön in Norrköping. The feasibility study deals with interests of conflict, park design, electrical connections, production calculation, financial calculations and operating- and timetable.The report is divided into two distinct parts. First a theoretical part, which deals with conflicting interests, park design and electrical connections. Second a part with simulations dealing with production calculations, and financial calculations.Opposing interests are mapped so that problem areas can be found, and help put focus on the right places at a future environmental impact assessment (EIA). There are a number of areas where planners have to assess on an EIA, this thesis point on the most important areas.

INTODUKTION: Hälta hos häst är ett vanligt förekommande problem och kan kosta djurägarenmycket både i tid och i pengar (Keegan K. et al 2011). Höga krav ställs på veterinären attkunna identifiera ursprunget till hästens hälta. Diagnostiska anestesier (bedövningar) användsofta för att lokalisera smärtans ursprung och är ett effektivt hjälpmedel (Ross M.W. et al2011).

Field balances based on supply and removal of trace elements from the topsoil have been calculatedfor farms specialized in crop, dairy and pig production in Sweden. Today's field balances have beencompared with the field balances of 1990 in order to examine if, and then how, the situation haschanged. Studied trace elements are arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu),mercury (Hg), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn).The balance calculations show that the stores of Cu and Zn are depleted with an average rate of -15% and -6 % over a 100-years period on crop farms when only commercial fertilizers are being used.The concentrations of Hg and Pb tend to increase in the topsoil on crop farms with more than 3 % forHg and with 2 % for Pb in 100 years. There is today balance between supply and removal of the traceelements As, Cd, Cr, Mn and Ni. In the south of Sweden, on crop farms with sugar beets in the croprotation, one can see a decrease in the concentration of Cd in the top soil by -6 % over a period of100 years.

Bakgrund och problem: Det som i dagligt tal kallas finanskrisen runt om i världen startade redan år 2007 då bostadsmarknaden i USA kollapsade. Det var sedan under hösten 2008 då banken Lehman Brothers gick i konkurs, som finanskrisen fullt blommade ut. Bankbranschen blev en bransch som kom att påverkas hårt, då flera banker fick statligt stöd för att undvika en konkurs. För att ytterligare försöka underlätta för bankerna och andra finansiella institut, kom IASB i oktober år 2008 ut med en ny tillämpningsmöjlighet av IAS 39 och IFRS 7 som berör finansiella tillgångar. Den här studien ämnar undersöka vilka effekter på resultat- och balansräkningen som de nya tillämpningarna fick för de banker som valt att omklassificera sina finansiella tillgångar.

Groddar har de senaste årtiondena varit källan till ett antal stora matförgiftningsutbrott (både i Sverige och internationellt), varav de flesta har orsakats av olika serotyper av salmonella. Groddar anses vara ett risklivsmedel på grund av att:- fröerna vid skörd inte betraktas som blivande livsmedel (vilket gör att kraven på hygien inte är så stora)- risken för mikrobielltillväxt är stor under groddning, då denna sker i en gynnsam miljö för mikroorganismer med avseende på temperatur och fuktighet- det inte finns någon optimal kontrollmetod för att hindra mikrobielltillväxt under groddning. I Sverige tillämpas värmebehandling av fröerna innan groddning men groddar värmebehandlas inte före konsumtion. Biokontroll med bakteriofager har tidigare undersökts på fröer innan groddning samt andra livsmedel. En minskning av salmonellahalt har setts med upp till 3,5 log (99,97%).I den här studien undersöktes bakteriofagens påverkan av antal salmonellabakterier både i lösning och under groddning.

Problem finns inom hälso- och sjukvårdens hantering av sjukskrivningsärenden och har visat sig vara extra stora inom primärvården. Många sjukskrivningar löper risk att bli långvariga, rehabiliteringsärenden drar ut på tiden och missförstånd uppstår mellan patienter och myndigheter samt myndigheter emellan. Mellan 1 september 2009 och 31 maj 2011 har man på Gotland bedrivit ett projekt med syfte att effektivisera sjukskrivningsprocessen med hjälp av Rehabkoordinator i primärvården. Denna studie utgör den kvalitativa utvärderingen utav projektet. Syftet med denna studie var att utvärdera om sjukskrivningsprocessen har underlättats för de samverkande aktörerna och för patienter efter inrättandet av Rehabkoordinator.

The use of the robust and durable woody ground covers is increasing, not in the least in public places. The group includes low shrubs of different height that effectively build low, tight vegetation that covers the ground. Despite all the good qualities the knowledge about them is quite low and there are ideas about them of being dull. The woody ground covers manage to struggle against weeds effectively by competing for nourishment and water, but above all, by the canopy of the ground covers that prevent the weeds from getting enough light. In that way the woody groundcovers can effectively compete with the annual weeds.

Most companies have a bottleneck in their production, that is a constraining re-source. When the demand is higher than the capacity in the constraining resource it is impossible to produce the demanded output. BACKGROUND: Today?s societal changes, including high rate of change and increasing information flows, are increasing the demand on the individual mental capacity. It becomes increasingly difficult to analytically process all the different dilemmas and everyday decisions as individuals have a limited mental capacity available to make these decisions. Thus, it has been suggested that ego-depleted relies more heavily on intuition, which is less burdensome, when making decision. However little is known about to what extent intuitive decisions differ from analytic.

The right to the city has lately become the rallying cry for many urban social movements all over the world to challenge neoliberal planning, gentrification, the privatization of urban commons and growing spatial and social gaps in city and society. This senior essay studies urban social movements that in different ways advocate the idea of the right to the city. The term right to the city was coined in the late 1960s by French urban theorist Henri Lefebvre, who promoted the idea of the city as a common, a space belonging to everyone. The right to the city is not ?a return to traditional cities?, but ?a right to urban life? (1996:158).This study focuses on the city of Hamburg.

Hårdgörning av trä syftar till att göra materialet hårdare. Detta går att åstadkomma genom komprimering, det komprimerade materialet tenderar dock att återgå mot sin ursprungsform då materialet utsätts för fukt om ingen låsning sker. Låsningen kan ske mekaniskt i en treskiktskonstruktion som motverkar träets fuktrörelser. Dessa skivor har dock visat sig vara instabila och tidigare försök har uppvisat deformationer i form av kupning. Denna undersökning syftar till att utreda förutsättningarna för att använda komprimerad asp samt att ta fram underlag för framtagning av en kommersiell produkt.Praktiska tester har genomförts för att studera hårdhet, återfjädring och densitet hos det komprimerade virket.

The foremost objective of business organizations is to generate value for shareholders and to opt for strategies which optimize it. Hence it is of key concern for business leaders to appreciate how operations best are run to maximize value creation. This study explores how financial theory can reveal the link between one particular business strategy and the corresponding effect on shareholder wealth. The question in focus is whether construction companies can enhance their value creation by implementing shift-work to increase the weekly production rate. The thesis particularly targets apartment block projects in Sweden and has the construction company Peab AB as primary object of study.

Today most dosages used in horse medicine are based on studies in adult horses. Since there are differences between adult and neonatal horses with respect to different pharmacological parameters this can cause problems when administring drugs to neonatal foals. Neonatal sepsis is a common cause of morbidity and mortality in foals and aggressive antibiotic treatment is needed immediately when sepsis is suspected. In Sweden the combination of trimethoprim/sulphadiazine and bensylpenicillin is often used as the initial treatment. When administering drugs, interactions can occur between the drugs and endogenous substances.
