Detta kandidatarbete genomfördes i samarbete med Bergvik Skog AB som önskade undersöka när skötselåtgärden gallring ska utföras i bestånd med olika grader av heterogenitet. Arbetet syftade därför till att klargöra hur stor andel av ett bestånd som ska vara i behov av gallring för att gallringen ska bli som mest lönsam. Arbetet genomfördes genom att med inventerings-data från Bergvik Skog dela upp företagets skogsinnehav i norra Värmland i tre hetero-genitetsklasser. De tre klasserna byggde på den relativa standardavvikelsen för grundytevägd medelhöjd mellan provytor inom samma bestånd. För klasserna simulerades skogsbruk enligt Bergvik Skogs riktlinjer under 100 år i programmet Heureka PlanVis.

Lax är en av de mest frekvent förekommande matfiskarna i våra hem. Den största delen av den lax som når hem och restaurang är odlad. Det är allt vanligare med sjukdomar hos lax som odlas. Kocken ställs inför svåra frågor gällande den odlade fiskens kvalité. En viktig aspekt är att ha kunskap om de eventuella sjukdomar som förekommer i vår samtids fiskodling.Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka den i vardagens måltider förekommande råvaran odlad lax utifrån hur sjukdomar påverkar fiskens kvalité.Den information som ges i de fem vetenskapliga artiklar arbetet är baserat på presenteras i avsnittet resultat.

Finansiella index är viktade efter de ingående värdepappernas del av det totala marknadsvärdet. Dessa index används kontinuerligt vid utvärdering av kapitalförvaltare och vid generella beskrivningar av utvecklingen på ?marknaden?. Enligt klassisk finansiell teori bör alla aktier på marknaden vara ?rätt? prissatta eftersom all information ska vara inkluderad i aktiens pris.

Safe retrieval of nutrients from human excreta to fertilize crops in order to gain adequate yields will increase food security and sustainability in agriculture areas with nutrient-poor fields. Safe and nutritious food will meet the dietary needs of the individual which promotes public health and the ability of an active life. Human excreta should be considered as a resource instead of being assumed as waste. Human faeces and urine is excellent fertilizers which may close the nutrient loop if utilized properly. However, sanitation of the excreta is required to prevent disease transmission by reducing the content of gastrointestinal pathogens such as bacteria, viruses and parasites. The objective of this study was to in small scale evaluate the sanitation in a combined liquid compost and urea treatment by monitor the inactivation of bacteria and viruses at the combination three start temperatures, 45, 40 and 35 °C, and three additions of urea, 0.5, 0.75 and 1 % and reference, 0 % urea addition.

The aim of this thesis is, from a business perspective, to examine how the pharmacy chain Medstop is working with their positioning in order to achieve competitiveness in the re-regulated pharmacy market. This is studied through a theoretical framework that demonstrates five forces that affects the competitiveness in an industry, the five-force model by Michael Porter.The thesis is a qualitative case study where data collection was done through interviews, literature, articles, websites and internal information from Medstop. The data was then complied into the theoretical perspective the authors have chosen for this paper, the five-force model by Michael Porter. This model was chosen because it gives a broad description of the competition a company faces by describing five different forces that affect the competition within a branch. The fact was collected on the basis of the marketing strategy positioning, and the essay is written from a business perspective.Our cunclusions are that the pharmacy chain Medstop are in their initial positioning and has chosen to position itself on the basis of their core values; credibility, safety and security.

Risk management is a key competency that is constantly being researched how it can be improved within project management. The risk management process consists of four major steps: identify risks, assess the risks? significance on the project, evaluate and address the key risks and follow up.The majority of companies seem to neglect certain identified risks, and decide not to mitigate if the risk does not cause adverse effects to the business. To counteract undesirable consequences and help organisations to become more effective at managing risks an initial work has been conducted for a risk repository.The project develops a proposal on the design of a risk repository which aim to effectively support a database implementation. The study includes literature studies which resulted in a relational model for database implementation.

Riskkapitalinvesteringar är ett relativt nytt fenomen som uppstått under de senaste årtionden och är ett sätt för bolag att få in nytt kapital till företaget. Investeringarna som görs innehar oftast en hög risk men ger en tämligen hög avkastning om projektet går som förutsett. Studien gick ut på att utforska hur riskkapitalbolag genomför investeringar samt hur bedömningar görs vid ett beslutsfattande. Det gjordes även en observation på vilka påverkningsfaktorer som existerar samt vilka effekter dessa har på investeringsprojekten.Totalt utnyttjades fyra teoretiska modeller för analys och jämförelse, samt för att framta en egen analysmodell. Det empiriska resultatet tydde på att investeringsprocesserna liknade varandra och följde teorierna, dock med en viss avvikelse.

Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka om utbildningens kvalitet har en signifikant påverkan på ekonomisk tillväxt. I uppsatsen tillämpas en regressionsanalys baserad på sekundärdata. Den beroende variabeln är real BNP per capita tillväxt vilken används för att mäta ekonomisk tillväxt. Den oberoende variabeln i fokus är testresultat från internationella prov och används som mått för utbildningens kvalitet. Kontrollvariabler i uppsatsen är initial BNP per capita, genomsnittlig utbildningstid, fertilitet, investeringar och graden av handelsöppenhet.

The aim of this study was to describe and analyze how social workers working in social services using evidence based practice with special focus on the clients? experiences and wishes as source of knowledge in collecting information, assessment and decision. To get to the social workers experiences and descriptions we used a qualitative method with semistructured interviews. The empiric material of the study consists of eight interviews with social workers working in different social offices in different areas, in southern Sweden. The main result of this study was that social workers use clients? experiences and wishes differently in different parts of the investigations.

Utvecklingen på kapitalmarknaden de senaste åren har gjort att fondbolag blir allt större ägare på den svenska börsen. Att de blivit stora aktörer medför ett ansvar att agera som ägare. Undersökningen ämnar beskriva hur och varför bankägda fondbolag utövar sin ägarstyrning idag samt, beskriva ett möjligt framtidsscenario vad gäller ägarstyrningens utveckling. Resultaten i studien bygger på personliga intervjuer med tre bankägda fondbolag samt olika intresseorganisationer. Undersökningen har kommit fram till att fondbolagen engagerat sig i ägarstyrning av tre anledningar: storlek, avkastning och samhällsutveckling.

The initial provisions concerning CFC-legislation were introduced 1990 and has since been subject to several revisions and adaptations. The fundamental purpose of the CFC-legislation is to prohibit and prevent tax evasion undertaken by such companies that own other foreign companies where generated income is subject to low rates of taxation. The CFC-legislation aims to provide the Swedish government with an op-portunity to tax this income. This is important in order to prevent tax avoidance and preserve the integrity of the system of taxation within Sweden. In order for the CFC-legislation to be as effective as possible there must exist a clear way of defining which activity that is to be regulated within its scope.

The interest for children´s clothing has increased in society. More and more children are born and parents are older when they have children. Education has become a natural feature in most people´s life, just as both parents often work today. The households have therefore better economy and thus greater consumption opportunities. Parents are, in greater extent, looking for personal and different clothing with focus on quality and, to some extent, exclusivity rather than just a cheap and functional garment.

The birth of a child marks a new era for the parents. It is the beginning of something that will never end, because they will always be the child´s parents. This study investigates what happens when an infant is born whit Downs syndrome (Ds), and thus does not resemble the child the parents had expected. The purpose of this literature study was to describe the information and the support that the parents of a newborn child with Ds think that they need. The literature search was made in the database of Medline (via Pub Med), Academic Search Elite and manual search.
