Att känna hopp när en närstående är sjuk kan upplevas som en berg och dalbana. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva närståendes upplevelse av hopp när en person drabbas av sjukdom. Litteraturstudien är baserad på tjugotre vetenskapliga artiklar som analyserats med en manifest kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier: Hopp påverkas av information, Andlighet och alternativa metoder ger en känsla av hopp, Relationer med andra människor ger hopp och Hopp är under ständig förändring. Det framkom att information och kunskap om sjukdomen bidrog till att närstående kände hopp, men att information inte alltid gavs ut rätt eller att det uteblev helt..

Sufficient and accurate search support is a crucial factor for successful information searching on web sites. This thesis evaluates the search support on the second version of the web site studera.nu with particular focus on how the web site meets up to criteria formulated on the basis of theories from research in information seeking and information searching. Bakgrund:I Sverige inbjuds alla kvinnor i åldern 40 till 74 år regelbundet till mammografi som hälsokontroll. Undersökningen är frivillig och syftet är att minska dödligheten i bröstcancer. För att kvinnor ska kunna fatta ett välgrundat beslut om att medverka vid mammografi som hälsokontroll eller inte, bör informationen vara relevant och sanningsenlig. Evidensbaserad information som beskriver både för- och nackdelar med mammografi som hälsokontroll är därför av stor vikt. Syftet:Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka innehållet i den information som skickas till kvinnor i Sverige i samband med kallelsen till mammografi som hälsokontroll.

The problem being examined is the disturbing noise that is created in an open plan office on a company working with a creative process, such as a newspaper or a communications agency. The purpose of this study was to examine the needs for today for a sound absorber in open offices and create and design a design proposal. The aim is also to develop a marketing material the product proposal. The problem has been broken down into the following questions:- How does the user look at the need of a sound absorber in an open offices solution today?- Does an interior designer apply sound absorbers when they furnish the intended environment? - How can a design that meets the needs that exists be achieved and to speak the user?The study is based on three choice of methods a literature review on selected topics that relate to the topic, an interview with an interior designer to explore how an interior designer applies absorbers in open plan office and finally an extensive survey that treats the user's needs and appropriate appearance for the product proposal.The design process has undertaken the following methods, design brief, requirements specification, functional analysis and sketches to produce the final product proposal.

Mycket resurser läggs idag ner för att uppmuntra till ett hållbart agerande, men det är långt ifrån bra och på många områden finns brister. Inom turismnäringen har resenärer inte alltid tillräckligt med kunskap om hållbart resande. Informationsspridning är därför viktigt och researrangörer är en grupp som kan påverka resenärerna då de har en direktkontakt med dem. Syftet med detta arbete är därför att utreda på vilka sätt information om hållbart resande lyfts fram via researrangörerna Apollo, Ving, Fritidsresor samt Solresors hemsidor. Syftet är även att se hur väl denna information stämmer överens med Schyst Resandes rekommendationer för researrangörer.

Syftet med arbetet var att undersöka lärare och elevers beskrivningar av information om bedömning, inför arbetsplatsförlagt lärande. Jag ville både undersöka vilken information om bedömning som lärare och elever upplever att de hade gett respektive fått och hur den hade kommunicerats. Den metod som jag använde mig av var enkät under ledning och undersökningen genomfördes på hotell- och restaurangprogrammet med elever från årskurs tre.Det som jag kom fram till i min studie var att elevernas beskrivningar skilde sig från lärarens beskrivning. Det visade sig att flera av eleverna inte visste vad som bedöms, vem som bedömde eller vilken kurs som momenten ingick i trots att läraren beskrev att informationen hade getts till eleverna. Även hur informationen hade kommunicerats skilde sig åt mellan lärare och elevers beskrivningar Som möjliga orsaker till de olika beskrivningarna, har jag diskuterat att det kan ha berott på olika störningar i kommunikationen och brister i kunskap om kommunikationsprocessen.Min förhoppning är att mitt arbete skall göra lärare medvetna om kommunikationens betydelse i klassrummet och undervisningssituationen och i synnerhet vikten av att kommunicera bedömning med eleverna..

This master thesis deals with the problem of integrated libraries. The number of integrated public and school libraries has significantly increased over time. These libraries are integrated for different reasons, most often because of economic considerations. The goal of the thesis is to investigate librarians´ understanding and perceptions of the professional role in this type of integrated libraries. I have investigated how librarians see and interpret their own professional role, and what factors influence their perceptions in an integrated library.The three main questions are: How do the librarians explain their professional role in an integrated library? How does their professional role change because of the fact that they work in an integrated environment? What factors, according to the librarians, influence and/or change the professional role mostly? The data has been collected through interviews with eight librarians at integrated libraries.

This study deals with questions about male and female, power and church, related to the Mariologies of three prominent leaders in the Church of Sweden in the last century: Erling Eidem, Paulina Mariadotter and Cristina Grenholm. The mentioned topics are important for conservative High Church people as well as for radical feminists, and they are therefore necessary to address in the context of discussions about the church´s identity and the search of greater unity.Each Mariology is related to contemporary ideas about the relations between male and female, and to the tradition of the church as the leaders themselves see it. During the years 1920-2010 the relations between the sexes changed a lot as a result of the impact of modernity, which also affected how people perceived the relationship between the individual and the tradition/authorities. The present study concludes that there is a connection between Mariology and contemporary ideas about male and female. However, the Mariologist´s attitude to the tradition of the church seems to decide which perspective is allowed to dominate.

Bakgrund: Den senaste finansiella turbulensen på bankmarknaden har uppmärksammat att likviditetsriskhantering varit ett eftersatt område. Förtroendet för men även mellan banker minskade samtidigt som osäkerheten ökade. Detta påverkade bankernas möjligheter till att finansiera sig, vilket i sin tur ledde till ökade likviditetsrisker. Som ett sätt att öka förtroende och minska osäkerheten har Baselkommittén för banktillsyn, BCBS, föreslagit att mer information bör delges bankmarknaden. Problematisering: Om otillräcklig information om bankens likviditetsriskhantering offentliggörs, påverkar osäkerheten förtroendet för bankerna.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate what chief librarians in Sweden know about the present education in Library and Information Science and what opinions they have of it. We have used the following four questions as a starting point for our work: + How much do the chief librarians know about the education in Library and Information Science? + What are their opinions of the education? + What emphasis do they put on academic degrees and practical experience? + Are there any differences between various kinds of libraries regarding these issues? We decided to use questionnaires to gather our information. These were sent to 200 chief librarians on both public and research libraries all over Sweden. 151 of the questionnaires were answered.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the three main translation methods used in experimental Cross-language Information Retrieval CLIR research today, namely translation using either machine-readable dictionaries, machine translation systems or corpus-based methods. Working notes from research groups participating in the Text Retrieval Conference TREC and the Cross-Language Evaluation Forum CLEF between 1997 and 2000 have provided the main source material used to discuss the possible advantages and drawbacks that each method presents. It appears that all three approaches have their pros and cons, and because the different researchers tend to favour their own chosen method, it is not possible to establish a "winner approach" to CLIR translation by studying the working notes alone. One should remember however that the present interest in cross-language-applications of information retrieval has arisen as late as in the 1990s, and thus the research is yet in its early stages. The methods discussed in this paper may well be improved, or perhaps replaced by others in the future..

The purpose of this masters thesis is to study two subject gate-ways within the field of Swedish higher education and academic research, concerning structuring and selection of Internet resources to facilitate information retrieval for their target groups, and also to study two co-operation projects in the same field, one national and one European, to see how the co-operation is being carried through and how the gateways in the projects can serve from a wider perspective. The gateways, AGORA and NOVAGate, are being studied mainly by their Web sites and two e-mail interviews with persons responsible for the gateways. Facts about the national project are principally based on an interview with BIBSAM. The European Renardus is being studied out of articles and information on the Web site. From the results of the study it is being clear that the purpose of the gateways is to make a quality-selection of information accessible via the Internet and thereby facilitate for their target groups to find usable information.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate how the crisis communication was perceived between SAS, massmedia and citizens during the volcano crisis in 2010. The questions posed are: - How did the communication between SAS, media and citizens function during the crisis? - How did senders, intermediaries and beneficiaries experience the information and communication during the crisis? - How important was the internet communication for SAS, media and citizens during the crisis?The collected material consists of interviews and desktop research of material from Internet.The study shows that the communication between SAS, the media and citizens worked well on the social medias but was weaker in all other mediachannels. SAS was also weak in following up information received by media and travelers, and they therefore they had a different picture of the situation during the crisis. SAS thought that the communication worked fine between the parties involved.

The aim with this thesis is to investigate how librarians experience communication with children in reference interviews. In today?s interactive community it is meaningful to study how children communicate with the librarian in virtual reference interview as well as in ordinary reference interviews in physical libraries. Focus has been on finding out what children ask about and how they are asking in virtual reference interviews and in ordinary reference interviews, what type of information needs the children have. The study also focuses on which barriers there can be in reference interviews.
