This essay answers the question: How can a manufacturing business fulfill the information demand in the processes; purchasing, production, warehousing, order and delivery?The question has been answered through different kind of studies, such as literature, documents, Internet search, interviews and observations. The essay is written from a hermeneutic point of view and by using qualitative research. The result has been validated by two different manufacturing businesses.A simple information logistic model is the result of a comparison made between theory and empery. The aim of the model is to describe how a manufacturing business can fulfill the information demand by using different methods.

Antalet intranÀt vÀxer stÀndigt, samtidigt som allt fler mÀnniskor kÀnner att de inte kan ta till sig all den information som de erhÄller. IntranÀten innehÄller en mÀngd anvÀndbar information som alla anstÀllda kan ta del av. För att kunna anvÀnda intranÀtet effektivt krÀvs det att anvÀndarna sorterar bland all den information som finns pÄ intranÀtet. Med hjÀlp av anvÀndarprofiler kan detta ske pÄ ett enkelt sÀtt. Syftet med detta arbete var att behandla frÄgan om anvÀndarprofiler kan bidra till att bÀttre beslut tas genom att information overload reduceras.

This thesis deals with information provision to the knowledge intense biotechnology businesses of Ideon Science Park in Lund, Sweden. Previous research concerning the information needs of Science Park companies has been conducted from the information provider s perspective. Instead, we apply a user perspective to find out what information needs these companies have, and how they prefer to acquire information. Central terms are: information, -needs, -acquisition, -consciousness, -strategy, small and medium sized enterprises, scientists and engineers, information (resources) management, networks, tacit knowledge, knowledge transfer and innovative milieux. The companies need scientific and business information; the latter is easily obtained within Ideon.

The purpose of this study was to describe how journalists do research for their articles and whether there is a need to create a knowledge bank of the material that journalists use for writing these articles. I also looked at how knowledge management could be used at a daily newspaper to add value to the information used by the journalists. The thesis is based on four interviews with journalists, a literature review and a practical project. I helped a journalist with his information seeking and later tried to organize the material. This project gave me an understanding of how varying the material that journalists use is and how difficult it would be to try to organize it in order to create an organizational knowledge resource of the material.

AbstractInformation and information seeking have always been important parts of society. How behavioural patterns of information seeking manifest themselves are partly due to individual prerequisites and partly due to the practice where the seeking of information is conducted.The aim of this study is to investigate a group of newly examined physicians? experiences of information seeking behaviour in their educational practice and in their professional practice. The two practices are related to each other but still very different. This makes it interesting to study whether individuals? information seeking behaviour changes when they move from the educational practice to the professional.The theoretical framework for the current study is a socio-cultural one.

Kvinnans lidande Àr det som uppmÀrksammas, och mÀnnen lider oftast i det tysta. Som sjuksköterska Àr det viktigt att skapa en vÄrdrelation till patienten, men det Àr lika vik-tigt att skapa en vÄrdrelation till nÀrstÄende, det Àr dÀrför viktigt att man ser familjen som en helhet. Att ha en helhetssyn i vÄrdrelationen innebÀr att genom att stödja man-nen i dennes lidande kan detta bidra till en förbÀttrad relation mellan paret och Àven minskat sjukdomslidande för kvinnan.VÄrt syfte var att belysa vad det kan innebÀra att leva i en relation med en bröstcancer-drabbad kvinna, samt att belysa vÄrdrelationens betydelse.

The purpose of this study was to describe how nurses, working in primary health care and responsible for diabetes care, reflected on patient information and education, its? content and experiences of providing it. The study had a descriptive design and seven nurses from seven health care units in the middle of Sweden participated in the study. Data were analyzed with qualitative content analysis. The results are presented in two main categories; ?The information? and ?The procedure?.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva hur patienter upplever information inför gynekologiska ingrepp och undersökningar. Metoden som anvÀndes för att belysa syftet var beskrivande litteraturstudie. Data insamlades via tvÄ databaser, Medline och Cinahl. Andra sökstrategier var manuell sökning i valda kÀllor. 15 vetenskapliga artiklar inkluderades i resultatet, dessa kvalitetsgranskades, analyserades och sammanstÀlldes.

Writing has been the most important tool in knowledge organization KO. In our modern society we can use our speech as a technical tool to seek information. Can we apply speech as a tool to organize information? The aim of this masters thesis is to problemize speech aspects in the field of knowledge organization KO. The investigation has two main parts and I use a hermeneutic approach.

Computer based information systems play an important role in modern military combat vehicles. The crew needs to be able to quickly get information about both the vehicle and its outer surroundings in order to quickly make the correct decisions. In this report, we describe the development of a prototype new information system for the BvS10 vehicle, manufactured by BAE System HĂ€gglunds AB in Örnsköldsvik.An important aspect of the system is the time it takes from the point that the information is generated by the vehicle sensors until it is presented to the user. The system must be able to ensure that it never displays information that is out of date. Thus, it is important to create a layer and component based architecture for the solution, making it possible to control, in detail, the information?s age as it moves through the system.

AbstraktSyfte: Att beskriva den information om anhörigstöd som presenteras pĂ„ hemsidor ikommuner i norra Sverige.Bakgrund: Äldre personer bor kvar hemma lĂ€ngre och behöver i större utstrĂ€ckninghjĂ€lp av sina anhöriga. Anhöriga behöver ofta stöd för att klara denna uppgift.Kommunerna har en skyldighet att erbjuda anhörigstöd, men kan ha svĂ„rt att nĂ„ ut medsin information om vilket stöd de har att erbjuda.Metod: En dokumentanalys med kvalitativ och kvantitativ ansats. Information omanhörigstöd inhĂ€mtades frĂ„n alla Norrlands 54 kommuners hemsidor. InnehĂ„lletanalyserades genom manifest kvalitativ analys och kvantitativ analys för jĂ€mförelsermellan kommunerna.Resultat: Studien visade att 96 % av kommunerna har information om anhörigstöd pĂ„sina hemsidor. Informationen varierade mellan kommunerna.

In this degree project I have studied how an anti-discrimination bureau can adapttheir online information to the target group ? immigrants who only have modestunderstanding of the Swedish language. This group is often subject of discriminationmatters, and therefore it?s important that they can take part of the information.To find answers to my questions I have studied different relevant theories, performeda readability analysis on the online information and have had qualitativeinterviews with representatives from the target group. I have also tested my rewrittentexts on both representatives and other readers.The result from my studies has shown that it is words that are the most difficult inthe current online information, while length and structure of the sentences are alsoof importance when it comes to the readability.

Vi Àmnar Àven undersöka vad som inverkar pÄ produktionspersonalens vetskap om denna information. Slutsatser: Vad ledningen vill föra ut för ekonomisk information och vad produktionspersonalen har vetskap om stÀmmer generellt inte överens. De respondenter som har störst vetskap om den ekonomiska informationen Àr mer engagerade, kÀnner större samhörighet i gruppen och Àr mer insatta i företagets ekonomiska situation. Gemensamt för dessa Àr att de alla har kontinuerliga och tÀta möten med roterande ansvar för att hÄlla i dessa samt tillgÄng till vÀl uppdaterade anslagstavlor..

This Master?s thesis concerns the information behaviour of pastors in nonconformist churches (especially new evangelical and Baptist church communions) in Sweden in their spiritual service to the local parish. The thesis also looks into how the information flow functions in the pastors? context and why the information need appears as it does. The theory used in this study is contextual analysis based on Buckland?s, Weber?s and Patrick Wilson?s theories on authority and power structures.
