This thesis analyzes the effects of different fertilization strategies on forest management at Holmen Skog in Umeå district. Harvesting volumes, net present values and fertilization intensity are presented for each fertilization scenario. The planning reserve (percentage area older than minimum final felling age) was also analyzed in this study.The thesis covers the analysis of five different fertilization scenarios, varying in fertilization intensity, from no fertilization at all, to fertilization at every harvesting operation (thinning or final felling). A sub-study was also carried out so the reader in detail can see how the different fertilization scenarios affect individual forest stands of different nature. The analysis has been done with the planning tool PlanWise, which is an application of the Heureka analysis and planning system.

AbstractMotor sports have been around as long as motor vehicles have been. Sports are often seen as costly polluter but in the same time the motor sports have encourages a large part of development, both for vehicles and other industries. Inventions like rear mirror and ABS brakes come from motor sports. One way to once again drive development forward while making motor sports carbon-neutral is to run the race cars on hydrogen. In this thesis, the goal is to convert a spark ignition engine for hydrogen operation.

English title: Part-time work among women in Sweden ? what influences choice of working hours? In the 1960s and 70s a large growth in part-time work amongst women in the Swedish labour market took place. A net inflow of workers into the labour market has been suggested as the main source. However, part-time work is still a common phenomenon among Swedish women; in 2004 almost 40% of all women worked part-time, and women are clearly dominating the part-time sector. A gradual changeover from house work to market work is hardly a valid explanation anymore.

The Smart Grid technology has during the last decade been established as a way to create a greater flexibility on the electricity grid that will be needed as the development moves towards an increased share of renewable primary energy sources in the electricity production. One part of the Smart Grid technology is the ability to shift loads in time, to adapt to either price or emissions, known as Demand Response. This project, which was conducted at KTH in collaboration with the consulting corporation Capgemini, examines the economic, environmental and social aspects of the Demand Response technology. In the project, three household products are used in a model that derives the potential savings in costs and emissions of CO2e. The results show that the actual savings measured in SEK are small, but that the savings measured in percent can be as high as 20 percent. Reduction of CO2e emissions is slightly lower.

Bakgrund: I Sverige drabbas ungefär 5000 patienter årligen av plötsligt hjärtstopp på våra sjukhus: Hjärtstopp behandlas med hjärt-lungräddning (HLR). Sjuksköterskan är oftaden som upptäcker patienter med hjärtstopp, och den som utbildar i HLR. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva nya alternativ till den traditionella metoden för HLR-utbildning. Metod: Examensarbetet är gjord som en litteraturöversikt och inkluderar elva vetenskapliga artiklar. Litteratursökningar gjordes i databaserna Pubmed, Cinahl och SveMed.

Uppsatsen visar hur webbredaktörer på magasin förhåller sig till marknadsekonomiska krav, de pressetiska reglerna och den journalistiska yrkesintegriteten.Webbredaktören på magasin förväntas arbeta med journalistik samtidigt som hon arbetar närmare marknadsfrågor och annonsörer än vad en vanlig redaktör gör. För den traditionella journalisten är ett samarbete med annonsavdelningen oftast ett otänkbart scenario och en förolämpning mot de journalistiska yrkesidealen. Men för webbredaktören på ett magasin är det en nödvändighet för att föra den egna produkten (webbplatsen) framåt.I uppsatsen analyseras webbredaktörens yrkesroll enligt 2000-talets journalistideal, definierade av Gunnar Nygren (2008). Resultaten visar att webbredaktörens yrkesroll fortfarande är under utveckling och därför är svår att klassificera. Forskningen är byggd på fem kvalitativa samtalsintervjuer med webbredaktörer på magasin.I resultatdelen redovisas webbredaktörernas svar och resonemang kring bakgrund, yrkesroll, ekonomi och organisationsform. Resultatet av intervjuerna visar att webbredaktörerna har olika åsikter om hur förhållandet till företagets marknadsavdelning bör se ut.

An experimental design was used in which 40 participants were randomly assigned to two groups, one of which was the experimental group and the other was the control group. A mirror was used in the experimental group to induce public self-consciousness among the participants while they performed creativity tests. A consequence test was used where the participant had to give suggestions for the given scenario "What would happen if everyone became blind?" which was then measured in the number of proposals (fluency).

Denna uppsats har sin utgångspunkt i de dramatiska händelserna i USA den 11 september 2001.Det amerikanska samhället och hela den västerländska världen togs på sängen av en terrorattack vars resultat och konsekvenser sällan har skådats. Den genomfördes på ett sätt som det ameri-kanska luftförsvaret inte var förberett på att möta. De västerländska försvarsmakterna är upp-byggda för att möta konventionella hot. Så är även det svenska luftförsvaret som baserar sin upp-byggnad på en hotbild från det kalla kriget. Med asymmetri som teoretiskt ramverk beskriver denna uppsats de nya hotbilder som storskalig terrorism utgör.

Ett av många nya användningsområden för smartphones är att använda dem somcaddie på golfbanan. Golfaren kan få hjälp med avståndsuppskattning till intressantapunkter på banan genom att dessa punkter programmeras in och jämförs medsmartphonens inbyggda positioneringssystem. Den här rapporten visar hur det med enbildsegmenteringsalgoritm går att slippa det manuella arbetet med att lägga inpositioner för sandbunkrar på golfbanan. Algoritmen som tagits fram arbetar påsatellitbilder som smartphonen kan ladda ned via dess Internetanslutning. Golfarenkan i ett tänkt scenario ge sig ut på en godtycklig golfbana och få hjälp medavståndsbedömning enbart med hjälp av satellitbilder och smartphonens gps.

?Childs pedagogic material ? A qualitative study of child?s use of pedagogic materials available at five nursery schools and about their teachers thoughts about the display of the pedagogic material?In the nursery preschool the environment and the educational materials have always had a central place. That's why it has been chosen to study and observe five preschools and interview sex teachers, in an attempt to understand the teachers thought about the choice of material and the choices of material that the children used. The reason I do this is to see what the underlying idea about the materials the children use is, and why educators choose to make certain materials visible. The purpose of this study is to examine the educational materials that are used to stimulate children´s learning and examine what determines the choice of educational materials.
