Quality assurance means to systematically work for better understanding of the customers needs, demands and expectations. The goal for this study was to investigate how quality can be assured in the job follow up that is made by forestry contractors after soil scarification and planting. The study consisted of a description over the current follow up process at SCA forest AB Jämtlands forest administration, analysis of current follow up situation and an investigation of follow up process made by contractors in other line of business. The first step was a statistical comparison where the own follow up made by contractors were compared with follow up made by SCA them selves over 100 stands. Two soil scarification contractors and two planting contractors carried out the silvicultural measures. The results showed that significant differences between a number of quality factors measured, for example number of approved plants or approved scarification points, average score on stand and number of totally planted plants.

Today, our cows experience a harder pressure to achieve higher milk yield. To manage this challenge the animal needs first class feeding and treatment. An important aspect of the feeding is to fulfil the need from the cows of especially fiber; and fiber with a sufficient proportion of long particles. Both too much and too little fiber is bad for the wellbeing of the cow, and she might get diseases like acidosis. Many models for feed management have been developed to secure that the animal gets enough of e.g. fiber with a sufficient proportion of long particles.

The social dimension in the EU, explored through the document texts of the Treaty of Rome, the Lisbon Strategy, the Social Policy Agenda and the Swedish Strategy ReportThis paper explores the social dimension of EU social policy, except the aspects of the economic and labour market. The EU documents reveal an underlying line of thought stemming from the alignment of the six founding countries, spearheaded by France, with the conservative corporatist welfare model. As one of four European welfare models, the conservative corporatist model emphasises labour market issues, corporate social responsibility and the subsidiarity principle in EU social policy. It also influences how the texts define the terms social, social policy and social exclusion. The definitions determine how policymakers combat problems such as social exclusion and identify the policy issues to be included in EU social policy.The Swedish Strategy shows how the country is responding to the objectives that it has been assigned by the EU and how it plans to attain them.

This work focuses on the relation between human and animals and especially on the relation between horses and human. I have brought up the human och horse relationsship, today, and in history and wrote about the behaviour of the horse. Some older studies with human and animal interaction, including animals like dog and cattle are discussed. I have also discussed physiological parameters that might influence the bond and the interaction between human and horse and some critical aspects concerning the methodology when studying this kind of physiology. The purpose of the experimental study was to analyze if common management routines and grooming of horses increases horses interest in making contact with humans. Many horse owners feel that they have a good connection with their horse and factors that can influence the relationsship could be physical contact, feeding or some challange that make the horse trust the human.

Milk fat is an important feature in many different milk products and other foodstuffs and it is often crucial for the dairy plants that the milk fat is stable for different manufacturing processes. Lipolysis is the enzymatic degradation of fat and is the one of the causes for an elevated amount of free fatty acids (FFA) in milk. Further, the change in fatty acid (FA) composition in milk can affect the stability of the product and also the manufacturing process. Both internal and external factors, at farm level or at the dairy plants can affect both FA composition and content of FFA. Milking frequency (MF=number of milkings per cow and day) and the composition of feed are two examples of factors generally performed at farm level. The objective of the present study was to evaluate how FA composition of milk and amount of FFA are influenced by two different ingredients supplemented to concentrate.

Specialistsjuksköterskan på barnhälsovården kan erbjuda vägledning och stöd i föräldraskapet. Huruvida spädbarnsskriket påverkar papparollen är inte väl studerat Syfte: Att beskriva pappors upplevelser och erfarenheter av spädbarnsskrik under spädbarnets första sex månader Metod: Studien genomfördes som en kvalitativ intervjustudie med åtta pappor. Materialet analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys Resultat: I resultatet framkom att papporna upplevde en otillräcklighet under skrikperioden.

The codling moth, Cydia pomonella is a common pest in apple orchards and can be found worldwide. Feeding by codling moth larvae can cause a substantial decrease in apple yield. Control methods comprise for example the use of pesticides, viruses and pheromones. As a sustainable control method, pheromones have been successfully applied to disrupt moth mating behaviour. Other behaviours like foraging, search for mating sites or host finding could be potential targets for additional odour-mediated behavioural manipulation but need further investigations of the underlying odour stimuli and behavioural plasticity. Many insects are attracted to the smell of fermenting fruit and associated microorganisms.

Prediktion av förändringar i omgivningen är nödvändigt för att vi ska kunna planera våra handlingar. Hur spädbarns gripförmåga utvecklas har länge studerats men hur spädbarn predicerar, anpassar handen och griper efter roterande objekt har inte undersökts tidigare. Tio stycken tio månader gamla spädbarn och nio stycken sex månader gamla spädbarn studerades när de grep efter en roterande stav i två olika hastigheter och riktningar samt i horisontalt och vertikalt läge. Griprörelsen registrerades med hjälp av ett ProReflex system (Qualisys). Om vinkelskillnaden mellan handen och staven i gripögonblicket var mindre än 45° ansågs rörelsen vara prediktiv.

A stay in the neonatal intensive care unit of greater than 5 days is one of the identified risks ofa sensorineural hearing loss. Preterm infants usually have at least one risk factor for hearingimpairment. The period from 25 weeks' gestation to 5 to 6 months of age is most critical tothe development of the auditory system. We think it is important to investigate hearingimpariment among infants born preterm, degree and type of hearing loss, risk factorsassociated with hearing loss and how the auditory system may be affected by preterm birth.ObjectiveA critical review of the current literature including studies of preterm infants born betweengestonal age 25-37. Our aim is to identify the most common type and degree of hearing lossamong infants born preterm and if there is an association between hearing loss and pretermbirth.MethodA literature search of Scopus and Pubmed resulted in 16 articles from 2000-2015ResultsMost of the infants in this study had a severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss.

Several cities have implemented various projects to improve traffic safety in city centers.During 1970s and 1980s the city centers changed as the suburbs grew and large shopping centers were located outside the center. At the same time, several projects were initiated with construction of pedestrian streets and restriction of traffic in the center. In year 1994,shared-used areas were introduced in Sweden and these areas are often used in center environments.In Sweden, municipalities are responsible for integrating security in public places and in comprehensive plans and detailed development plans. The National Board of Housing,Building and Planning is the authority for administrating planning issues and develop general guidance about planning. Traffic is one of their key issues, although today there are no concrete guidelines from the National Board of Housing, Building and Planningfor the design of traffic safety in city centers.Traffic safety in city centers affects many people because the city center is a public place.It is therefore important that there are current guidelines available that are helpful for changes and improvements in traffic safety in the city center.The purpose of this report is to formulate guidelines for planning city centers from a traffic safety perspective.

Det föds drygt 110.000 barn i Sverige varje år och nästan 10% behöver neonatalvård på grund av för tidig födsel eller sjukdom. I denna situation befinner sig föräldrarna i en värld fylld med oro och ovisshet över sitt barns överlevnad och utveckling, vilket kan skapa en kris hos föräldrarna. För att sjuksköterskan i omvårdnaden ska kunna bemöta föräldrar på ett adekvat sätt då deras barn är beroende av sjukhusvård, bör behovet av stöd belysas, vilket var syftet med denna litteraturstudie. Fyra kategorier speglar resultatet för att beskriva olika behov av stöd; Stöd i främmande miljö, Stöd genom att skapa närhet, Stöd genom information och Stöd genom kommunikation och delaktighet. Sjuksköterskans uppmuntran och stöd har betydelse för föräldrars delaktighet i omvårdnaden av deras barn och       därigenom få möjlighet att hantera situationen.

SAMMANFATTNINGEtt av de valbara kandidatprojekten på KTH 2014 var att utifrån ett ganska detaljerat program utforma en stor förskola i Tantolunden i Stockholm. Åtta avdelningar, det vill säga 130 barn och 30 anställda. Dessutom en så kallad plusfunktion med avsikt att ge byggnaderna användning även när förskolan var stängd. Min ambition var att göra en pedagogisk arkitektur på barnens villkor och med ständigt prioritet på barnens bästa.Efter en serie workshops med barnen på Ragvalds förskola utkristalliserade sig tre bärande idéer. ? Förskolan ska ha torn att leka i.? Tegel är det bästa byggmaterialet.? Det ska vara enkelt att gå in och ut. Detta lovade jag dem att ha med i mitt förslag. Resultatet blev en serie byggnader, sammanlagt 8 stycken sammanbundna av lider och lektorn, över en av de befintliga stigarna i Tantolunden.  Även barn som inte går på förskolan har tillgång till de fyra lektornen individuellt utformade.

The purpose with this literature study was to investigate the possibilities for improvement of forage protein in dairy cows with focus on feeding strategies and conservation of forage protein. The utilization of forage protein in dairy cows is often not that efficient as it could be. The feed crude protein consists of both true proteins and non protein nitrogen. The digestion of proteins in the rumen depends on the protein degradation rate and the ability of the microbes to synthesize microbial protein. The microbes need a balance between carbohydrates that provide them with energy and proteins that are degradable in the rumen.
