The purpose of this thesis is to identify the factors that drive efficiency and effectiveness in technical development projects performed at A?F?s department of product development. In addition to identifying and analyzing these factors, the thesis also analyzes what needs to be taken in to account in order to implement a measurement system that is able to both monitor and control the identified factors.The thesis has been performed in a qualitative manner. It is based on interviews with people from several different technological companies, within different lines of business, all of which are customers to A?F?s department of product development.The results show that there are seven critical factors for project efficiency and effectiveness.

This degree project is a realization of a strategy for collaboration between an industrial designer and employed workmen of a producing company. The collaboration aims to engage everyone involved in the co-authorship of a products design and manufacturing history. The realization has taken place in an open dialogue where the designer no longer owns the design process by himself. The project has been carried out in cooperation with the company Iris Hantverk. The company is owned by the Swedish body for visually impaired and has their main production facility in Stockholm.

This project concentrates on musicians who work in a professional music studio.The task of this project was to design a new headphone system called Foldback system.The advantage of this system is that all involved in a music project could influence their ownlistening during the project. With a couple of adjustments should each and everyone get theirown individual listening from their headphone station.This report shows different methods, theories and results that came along in development ofFoldback system. BACKGROUND: The isolation facility is an important ward in veterinary hospitals. This is where infectious patients are treated in order to reduce the risk for cross-contamination between the infectious patients and other patients and humans in the hospital. But it can only function in a safe manner as long as adequate precautions for infection control are adhered to. This has shown to be a problem in many isolation facilities in veterinary hospitals in Sweden. AIM: The aim of this paper was to examine which factors that can affect the quality of the infection control in the isolation facility. The aim is also to stress the importance of adequate infection control practices. METHOD: Two interviews were conducted with staff from two veterinary hospitals.

This thesis studies private equity firms' implementation of management control systems in their portfolio companies and whether the systems are affected by cross-national differences. A comparative case study examines five different private equity firms to derive if there are any differences between the private equity firms' management control systems in the United States, Europe and China. The empirical observations are categorized according to the framework developed by Merchant (1985) and further developed by Merchant and Van der Stede (2003). Theory on the effect of multinationality on management control systems, also developed by Merchant and Van der Stede (2003), are used to explain possible findings. The applied theory includes the cultural dimensions developed by Hofstede (1984) and Hofstede and Bond (1988).

System Andersson AB is a company located in Jönköping that works with developing computer systems for the mechanical engineering industry. As of today, when this report is written, the company is working on the development of a new Manufacturing Planning and Control (MPC) system. This new system aims to create not only a user friendly interface but also a modern, stylish interface. To achieve this, the company has decided to work with a, for them, new application framework; Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).System Andersson is well known for developing systems for different kinds of touch screens, this project is no exception. For this new user interface the company wishes to implement different types of Drag&Drop functionality.

Venture capital firms and private equity firms have been the subject of much controversy in the last decade. During this period economies throughout the world have seen a steady increase of these types of firms as owners of companies. In Sweden this has certainly been the case and many argue that this trend will continue to grow stronger in the future. This trend is by many regarded as dangerous and as a threat to the ownership model that has characterized the Swedish economy for decades. Family ownership has been widely regarded as the most beneficial and responsible ownership model in Sweden.

The vegetation?s impact on erosion control is widely explored, even though research? results are scattered where it suggests a both positive and negative relationship between roots and erosion tendency. Research has measured the roots? impact on erosion by many different methods, hence the aim of this study is to offer a clearance of what factors play an important role in the choice of appropriate species controlling river bank erosion. I have therefore studied 17 articles concerning vegetation and erosion control, which were found in different databases such as: Web of Knowledge, Biological Sciences, Academic Search Elite and Google Scholar.

Region Gotland har under en längre tid privatiserat tjänster som tidigare utfördes av Region Gotland själva. Hur går det till när en privat aktör tar över eller startar en verksamhet och hur ser kraven på verksamheten ut? Idag använder Region Gotland Balanserade styrkort i sin styrning och hur påverkar denna typ av styrning privata aktörer? Denna uppsats fokuserar på vilken effekt Socialnämndens styrning har på upphandling, kommunikation och uppföljning.Problemformuleringen i denna uppsats lyder: På vilket sätt styr Socialnämnden privata och offentliga aktörer inom särskilt boend epå Gotland.Syftet med denna rapport är att undersöka hurvida Region Gotlands styrmodell påverkar upphandling, kommunikation och uppföljning mellan Region Gotland och aktörer inom särskilt boende på Gotland.Intervjuer har gjorts med personer i nyckelpositioner inom Region Gotland. Fördjupade intervjuer har gjorts med verksamhetschefer på två olika boenden. Ett boende i privat regi och ett boende i offentlig regi.

I denna studie undersöktes om känsligheten för stress varierar mellan olika ångestsyndrom. Respondenterna utgjordes av 36 män och 47 kvinnor, samtliga medlemmar i Svenska ångestsyndromsällskapet, som fick besvara 15 bakgrundsfrågor samt PANAS, SE-formuläret och Locus of Control. Några skillnader i stresskänslighet kunde inte påvisas. Dock uppvisade kvinnor högre grad av extern Locus of Control än män, medan män hade fler sömnproblem än kvinnor. Bortfallet i undersökningen är betydande eftersom del av respondentgruppen föll bort.

Demag Delaval Industrial Turbomachinery (DDIT AB) i Finspång tillverkar gasturbiner.I dessa finns det ledskenor/skovlar som arbetar i så varma områden att de måste kylas för att få rätt livslängd. Vid nytillverkning och reparation mäts kylflödet genom respektive skovel/ledskena för att säkerställa att flödet och därmed kylningen ligger inom tillåtna gränser. Mätningen görs med hjälp av en flödesrigg.Denna rigg består av en ventil för inställning av luftflöde, utrustning för mätning och reglering av flödet och anslutning för den aktuella komponenten.Vid DDIT har en datorreglerad flödesrigg tagits fram för att användas vid kontroll av ledskenor/skovlar. Riggen fungerar, men tryckregleringen behövde förbättras.I detta arbete har reglerventilen och flödesriggen studerats för att kunna automatisera mätningarna. Olika reglermetoder har utvärderats.För regleringen används PID Control Tools från National Instrument?s LabVIEW®.

Detta examensarbete inom lean produktion anpassar, tillämpar och utvecklar metoden för värdeflödeskartläggning på Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB:s tillverkning av mellanväggar. Företaget ser en ökad efterfrågan på ångturbiner, där mellanväggar är ingående komponenter. Produktionen av mellanväggar sker idag i funktionell verkstad där mellanväggen genomgår drygt 20 operationer. Värdeflödeskartläggningen ska presentera ett förbättrat produktionssystem för mellanväggar som kan möta den prognostiseradeefterfrågan.Metoden för värdeflödeskartläggning har sitt ursprung hos Toyota och bilindustrin. Examensarbetet utvecklar metoden för kundorderstyrd lågvolymproduktion och presenterar en metodhandbok för leanimplementatörer.
