This report deals with hard surfaces and the factors which are behind the criteria for dimensioning, also dependent on the level, or volume, of traffic. A test was made on slabs of two kinds of natural stone. This was made to see if the values that were reached for breakload was transferable to the same tables that the concrete industry is using for surface dimensions of slabs and paving stones. The test showed very high values and the result, together with the written study, led to the author?s suggestion for a classification table where slabs of natural stone were divided in to different classes depending on traffic, thickness and durability..

An array of different retinal disorders is present as a threat in quite a number of dog breeds. These often lead to profound visual impairment or blindness. Many of the disorders are genetic, and they are, in Sweden as well as in other countries, subject to breeding programmes. The anatomy of the eye and the retina, as well as current examination techniques (ophthalmoscopy, electroretinography (ERG) and genetic analysis) are described. The more common retinal disorders encountered in dogs in Sweden are discussed: retinal dysplasia, generalized progressive retinal dystrophy, retinal pigment epithelial dystrophy, collie eye anomaly, sudden acquired retinal degeneration, retinal detachment and choroiditis. The possibly affected breeds are listed. The value of diagnostic findings is discussed and current advances on the subject in ophthalmologic research are accounted for..

Background and purpose: Volleyball requires a lot of the human body, andeffective core stability is necessary for the athlete. Our muscles cooperate as achain of motions and core stabilization is the base for the moving muscles.The most well-known stabilization muscle is m.transversus abdominis (TrA).The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the function of TrA inSwedish female elite volleyball players and to observe the influence of eightweeks of stabilization exercise on the TrA. Method: 10 female elitevolleyball players (mean age 24,7 years, range 18-31 years) participated inthe study. TrA was measured in supine position with a pressure biofeedbackunit. Subjects were instructed to draw in the abdominal wall without movingthe pelvis and hold for 10 seconds.

This thesis is a chronological survey over the hut and house remains from the Stone Age to the Early Middle Ages in Eastern Central Sweden. The thesis also contains a test which I have conducted to see which investigation method had the best results in identifying house remains at an archaeological site. The following study examined whether similarities in motor speech deficits in Parkinson?s disease and in developmental stuttering could be observed. Furthermore, intelligibility was examined. Syfte: Syftet med den här studien var att undersöka hur ashtangayoga fyra dagar i veckan under åtta veckor påverkade koncentrationsförmåga, syreupptagningsförmåga och rörlighet hos två friska individer. Metod: Två kvinnor, 25 och 29 år gamla tränade under åtta veckor ashtangayoga fyra dagar i veckan.

Two classes are compared in the study. One of the classes has digital teaching material and the other class has traditional teaching material. Könsskillnader i kognitiva förmågor antas vanligtvis bero på en kombination av evolutionära, sociala och biologiska orsaker. En kompletterande förklaring presenteras i denna undersökning, nämligen betydelsen av ohälsa. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hälsans betydelse för könsskillnader i prestation på test av verbalt flöde och visuospatial förmåga, två kognitiva funktioner där forskningen har dokumenterat könsskillnader. 32 kvinnliga och 21 manliga psykologistudenter som i genomsnitt var 29 år deltog. De kontaktades genom ett anslag vid Psykologiska institutionen i Stockholm.

   Kroppens syreupptagningskinetik innebär hur snabbt syreupptagningsmekanismerna i kroppen ökar mängden upptaget syre (O2) vid ett påbörjat arbete. Detta påverkar oss dagligen genom att en snabbare reaktion leder till en mindre syreskuld efter arbetet. Syftet med studien var att jämföra VO2-kinetiken mellan ett arm- och benarbete och ett rent benarbete och försöka hitta skillnader mellan dessa. Åtta måttligt tränade försökspersoner (sex män och två kvinnor) rekryterades och fick genomgå tre tester på en specialbyggd arm- och bencykelergometer. Testerna bestod av ett VO2-maxtest (kombinerad arm- och benarbete), ett submaximalt arm- och bentest (AB) och ett submaximal bentest (B) på samma absolut arbetsintensitet (65 % av VO2max) där VO2-kinetik mättes under fyra minuters arbete.

En av de vanligare grupperna är personer, som av olika skäl drabbas av kognitiva nedsättningar. Arbetsterapeuten bedömer personer med kognitiva funktionsnedsättningar bl.a. med hjälp av olika bedömningsinstrument. Screening -instrumentet Mini Mental Test (MMT) är ett av de mest använda.

Baled silage has become one of the most important conservation methods in Sweden. Because we take our grass as silage we get the quality and the good hygenic that we would like to have. Silage has become a big buisiness also in the horse feeding where many of the breeders have changed from the hay to the hay-silage. The difference between regular silage and haysilage is that the hay silage is dryer (60-70%DM). The hay-silage has also put higher demands on machinery and wrapping material since the grass gets sharper and harder to press together real hard. The main reason for the test was to compare two different systems for wrapping, the new Cross Pac and conventional.
