Att bilda till frihet : En studie av folkbildningens ideologiska påverkan och utveckling 1990-2012

During the last two decades, the elementary, - secondary-, and upper secondary schools of especially Europe and USA have gone through a change. From being formed in the post war time and, in Europe, very influenced by the ideas of social democracy, the school today has more and more come under the influences of neo liberalism, entrepreneurship and the political and economical situations during the late 1980´s.This undergraduate work brings up the changed discourses of education and knowledge in relation to the traditional free school system for adults in Sweden, the popular education, and especially in relation to folk high schools (folkhögskolor). By using, first and foremost, the idea of Norman Faircloughs critical discourse analysis (CDA) the rules and documents concerning the folk high schools are analyzed. The purpose of the paper is to identify and recognize the movement in the discourse to reach an understanding about the political situation for folk high schools in Sweden. In the end you can see that it is possible to define a similar development in discourse surrounding the popular education, as has been in the case with the elementary, - secondary-, and upper secondary schools..

Entreprenöriell marknadsföring : Hur marknadsförs småföretag startade av entreprenörer

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva och precisera innebörden av entreprenöriell marknadsföring sett ur småföretags perspektiv samt huruvida marknadsföringsmetoderna karaktäriseras av entre-prenören eller av den bransch som denne är verksam i. Metod: För att uppnå vårt syfte valde vi att genomföra en kvalitativ studie. Studien bestod av fem djupintervjuer med entreprenörer i Karls-krona. Vid intervjutillfället lade vi även fram ett case för att få en djupare insikt i hur entreprenörerna skulle agera i en given situa-tion. Detta för att de verkar i olika branscher.

Informationskällor under internationalisering : Svenska små företags tillvägagångssätt för att tillägna sig kunskap och information

There is an ongoing process where the free market within the European Union is expanding, partly through the incorporation of new member states, partly through the signing of association agreements with nearby countries and regions. When trade barriers are removed in different ways more companies consider an internationalization of the company. However, the procedure of the internationalization of companies is a rather new and unexplored area in the context of research. The focus of this study is therefore to examine how a few companies situated in Sweden, has proceeded while searching for knowledge during the internationalization process. Data has been collected through interviews that have been balanced with information from Internet and other sources.

Superentreprenörens magkänsla: idéuppfångande, motivation och genomförande

Denna D-uppsats handlar om entreprenörskapets innersta väsen: Hur superentreprenörer använder sig av marknadsavkänning för att skapa, bibehålla eller utveckla verksamheten. Uppsatsen är uppbyggd kring intervjuer med tre mycket framgångsrika entreprenörer som berättar om sin företagsamma resa: Kim Traumer, Yngve Bergqvist och Hans Fält. Traumer bedriver en verksamhet som är avknoppad från landstinget och vars huvudsyfte är att behandla ungdomar med ADHD-, Damp- och Aspergersdiagnos medan Bergqvists Icehotel är verksamt inom upplevelseindustrin och Fälts Fältelektronik lutar mera åt hårdvaruhållet. Vi har tagit till oss dessa tre entreprenörers klokhet för att i en induktiv anda, svara på uppsatsens syfte. Vi har valt att utföra en kvalitativ fallstudie med aktörsynsätt för att fånga upp entreprenörernas personligheter på ett förhoppningsvis målande sätt.

Evigt offer eller alltid gärningsman? : Framställning av invandraren i den nätbaserade dagspressen

The purpose of this study is to examine how immigrants are portrayed in the Swedish daily newspapers online reporting. The essay investigates in what context immigrants, as individuals, are made visible and how they and their origins are reproduced. The study focuses on the roles victim and aggressor, and is also investigating potential differences between morning and evening newspapers.Present theories are discursive discrimination, critical discourse analysis, cultural racism, stereotypes and structural discrimination. Adopted methods are qualitative and quantitative content analysis, based on the Global Media Monitoring Project-tool.The results show that immigrants are not individually stereotyped or depicted negatively, but that their immigrant origins often have a central part of the story, that they are mentioned mainly in connection with negative news and that negatively charged words occur frequently. .

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate how students at an upper secondary school for adults use school and public library when searching for information for school assignments. The focus in this investigation is on the feelings and experiences of the process of the information seeking and use. The focus is also on the students experiences of school and public libraries and the help they receive from them in learning. The method used is focus groups interviews. Two groups were interviewed.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to investigate whether Vara municipality has a continuous picture of their identity, profile and image. Globalization has contributed to the increasingly growing of place marketing. Therefore, the study goes on to using the concepts of identity, profile and image to find out if Vara Municipality communicates similar throughout the whole organization and find out their all through core values. Globalisation will be an interpretive framework for the work that describes why the place marketing is becoming more pressing. The sense of place will be a central part of this study as it is the feelings and images of different places that will be described by the municipality together with the identity, profile and image.

Invandrare i tätortsnära natur : kvalitativa intervjuer angående natursyn och nyttjande samt förslag till åtgärder

The aim of this study is to show how immigrants perceive and utilize Swedish nature. The study also intends to make suggestions on how immigrants can be encouraged to use nature close to where they live. The methods are qualitative interviews, group interviews and participant observations. The results show that immigrants are a very heterogeneous group and there is no distinct immigrant-specific perspective. Although they are all immigrants their lifestyle widely vary. Their reasons for not going out into nature are diverse.

Research has shown that immigrants in the Swedish society often, when seeking jobs, don?t get the same opportunities as the rest of the population. This thesis is a qualitative research that examines the problematic situation of unemployment among immigrants in the municipality of Finspång. The purpose of this study is to analyze how civil servants in Finspång apprehend and describe the labor market problems surrounding the immigrant groups that live in the municipality of Finspång. The empirical material is build upon seven qualitative interviews with eight civil servants working in Finspång.

Att placera företagsinkubation i en Community of Practice - En studie om lärandemiljön i företagsinkubatorer

The role of small businesses is fundamentally important for the economic development in countries. Within this context, business incubation is used as an entrepreneurship development instrument to promote and support new firms in the early stage of their existence. However, research in the field tends to disregard the perspectives of incubatee entrepreneurs. The performed investigation is based on interviews with entrepreneurs from two different business incubators at Swedish universities. This study uses a Situated Learning Theory (SLT) as a theoretical framework, to examine the entrepreneur's experience of the learning environment in a business incubator.

Method: A qualitative method is used, since this thesis aims at getting an understanding of a specific phenomena; the intention to entrepreneurial behaviour.

Att vara eller inte vara informationskonsult en studie av entreprenörers motivation

The main aim of this thesis is to examine what motivates people to become entrepreneurs and how they are motivated to continue being it. We have decided to focus on four elements: the driving force of being an entrepreneur, the environment, the individual background and important personal characteristics of the entrepreneur. Qualitative interviews were carried out with six information consultants. The theoretical background has its focus on entrepreneurial motivation. A model of entrepreneurial motivation by Naffziger, Hornsby and Kuratko 1994 is presented.

Föreningsliv och demokrati : Om politiska, demokratiska och integrationsmässiga förutsättningar i en somalisk förening

In contemporary Sweden political participation among foreign-born Swedes is viewed as low and it is well known that foreign-born individuals do not use their voting rights to the same extent as the general population. At the same time there are numerous ethnic associations around the country who work with various activities involving political, democratic and integration issues. This study aims to study how four members of a Somali association regard, relate to and work with politics, democracy and integration. The study is based on these four people, but also on their relationship with authorities and other agencies in the community. The conclusion of this study shows in brief that the desire to participate politically is great, but that democracy and politics is accessible to all, depending on the level of language skills and what political knowledge the individual has.
