The purpose of this essay, entitled ?Heja Sverige! Heia Norge?, was to study the difference in nationalistic tendencies between Swedish and Norwegian news coverage of the 2015 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun, Sweden, which took place between 18 February and 1 March 2015. It was the fourth time the event took place in Falun, previous games having been held in 1954, 1974 and 1993.I performed a critical discourse analysis of a total of twelve articles split over two race days ? one where Swedish athletes outperformed Norwegian athletes and vice versa. I did this order to study if the news coverage in each of the two countries? most promininent sports papers; Sportbladet in Sweden and VG Sport in Norway, was charaterized by a nationalistic discourse, as well as comparing the two to find similarities and differences between them.Having based my analysis on theories and previous research regarding media events, nationalism, national identities, ?us and them?, Imagined communities et cetera, I came to the conclusion that a nationalistic discourse is, without a doubt, present in the news coverage ? something very unique for sports journalism as a genre.

Detta är en kvalitativ, kvantitativ och teoretisk studie om människor och communities. Utifrån bland annat teoretiker som Giddens belyses ämnen som postmodernism och vart den har först oss. Utifrån Israels sammanfattning av teoretiker kan man ta del av Bourdieus tankar om socialt och kulturellt kapital, samt sociala fält.De egna teorierna har uppstått ur kvalitativa undersökningar såsom intervjuer. Även kvantitativa undersökningar har gjorts på medlemmar på community Helgon. I analyskapitlet sammanvävs frågeställningarna med teoretikerna och undersökningarna.

The purpose of this study is to show how the Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet andDagens Nyheter reported on and described Dag Hammarskjöld as a man and a symbolat the time of his death in 1961. The method for the research has been a qualitativethematic analysis of the content in the articles published from the date ofHammarskjöld´s death to the day after the funeral. The study has been based on theoriesabout newspapers roles in the construction of Imagined communities, the use of mythsand the objectifying of abstract ideas in news texts.I have found that the investigated newspapers described Dag Hammarskjöld assynonymous with the United Nations, the world peace and a hope for the future. He wasalso described as a link between the present and the past in the Swedish history at thesame time as he was described as a man of the people. He was representing?Swedishness? in an international context and the cosmopolitan.

I dagens samhälle ökar användningen av e-communities i en rasande fart. Aktiviteter som kanutföras på dessa sidor blir allt fler och i princip alla kan få ut någonting av användningen.Ungdomar är en stor målgrupp där användandet av e-communities är mycket vanligt. Men itakt med den ökande användningen påverkas livet i den fysiska miljön, då du till en stor delav din lediga tid befinner dig framför datorn istället för ute. Hur påverkar detta ungdomarna,som i alla år varit ute redan från barnsben för att umgås med sina vänner till att i dagenssamhälle enkelt kunna utföra denna kommunikation via datorn? Det pågår en mängddiskussioner kring detta ganska nya och färska ämne.Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka och presentera ungdomars syn på användandet av ecommunities.Vi vill försöka se användandet ur ungdomarnas perspektiv då detta är en stormålgrupp av användare.

I denna uppsats har vi undersökt hur man kan värdera en Internet-community. Vi har genomfört intervjuer med tre fallföretag, Glife, Lunarstorm samt Stallet.se. Utfrån dessa intervjuer samt den analys vi gjort har vi utformat en möjlig värderingsmodell för Internet-communities..

The advancements in digital technology and its availability contribute to the transfer of companycentricproduct development and value creation to networks or communities. It also changes the basisfor creation of customer relationships as described in previous research on Customer relationshipmanagement (CRM). The purpose of this case study was to gain an understanding of how companieslike our case study object Memoto who developed a physical product which gets added-value fromdigital product-related services looks upon product-centered communities as a way of buildingcustomer relationships. How Memoto looks upon incentives for participation in product-centeredcommunities was also examined.Our research indicated that firms in the start-up phase (which Memoto was when this study wasconducted) initially want to have more control over the process of innovation and hence have directcontact with end-customers. The reason for this is because they see a need to define the basis forfurther innovation work.

Syftet med föreliggande studie är att åskådliggöra den betydelse internetbaserade Communities haft som friskfaktor för personer i uppbrottet från ett utpräglat självskade¬beteende. Undersökningen kommer även urskilja övriga friskfaktorer som varit till stöd för dessa personer i uppbrottsprocessen samt diskutera tänkbara risker vid användandet av Communities i självhjälpssyfte. Studien är kvalitativ och baseras på intervjuer med respondenter från tre olika Communities där diskussioner kring självskadebeteende är en stark beståndsdel. Intervjuerna är gjorda via e-post där intervju¬frågorna tematiserats utifrån; friskfaktorer, Internets betydelse samt risker med Communities. Studiens resultat visar hur betydelsen av internetcommunities för användarna är av liknande karaktär som självhjälpsgrupper ? där den er¬faren¬¬hets¬baserade kunskapen ligger till grund för den hjälp och det stöd som tillhandahålls av användarna själva.

Participation as Pedagogy ? Imagined Race and the Exhibit of Swedish Peoples-Types.This essay will analyse and give a deeper picture of the ?The Exhibit of Swedish People-Types? by focusing on the pedagogical ideals that formed the exhibit as an participatory media. The exhibit was led by the famous race-biologist Herman Lundborg and toured Sweden in 1919 displaying the racial constitution of the Swedish population using material gathered by the public itself. The exhibit has been described as an important tool in popularising eugenics in Swedish society during the early 20th century with the ambition of gaining funds to create the first race-biological institute and to influence policy-making. Nevertheless there has not been a single study which has focused solely on the exhibit and how the pedagogical ideals that permeated it affected the relation between the public and the media itself nor the political implications of this relation.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka vilka upplevelser unga vuxna har beträffande den virtuella gemenskapen på Internet communities och hur det påverkar deras hälsa och lärande. Studien grundar sig på folkhälsopedagogiskt perspektiv och bygger på en kvalitativ studie. Under genomförandet av arbetet har åtta individer deltagit i individuella intervjuer. I bakgrunden belyser jag hur den teknologiska utvecklingen förändrar det sociala samspelet i samhället. Ökande kommunikation via Internet communities har bidragit till att människor kan ha större sociala nätvärk utan fysiska hinder.

The aim of this essey was to find out what kind of help problem gamblers can get at social service offices in the region Västra Götaland in Sweden. We also examined the knowledge regarding gambling problems at social sevice offices and who the head of the social service offices regarded having the responsibility for the question of helping problem gamblers. As a last question we wanted to know if the size of the population in the community had an impact on these questions. Central questions in our essey asked are:How much help does the social service offices in the region Väsra Götaland offer problem gamblers? Who has the responsabilety to help problem gamblers according to social service offices?What knowledge does the social service offices have concerning problem gambling?Does the population of the community have an impact on theese questions?This is a quantitative study made as a webbservey to the head of the social service offices in the region Västra Götaland.

Utifrån syftet att belysa historiekulturens betydelse för individens känsla för delaktighet i det svenska klassrummet har arbetet tagit form. Med fokus på eleven har en kvalitativ studie gjorts genom att elever och lärare från en högstadieskola i västra Skåne intervjuats. Intervjuerna ämnade ge ett resultat som kunde svara på den övergripande forskningsfrågan: Hur ställer sig historien som berättas i skolan mot elevernas egna upplevda tillhörigheter? Tillsammans med en teoretisk dykning ner i identitet, upplevda tillhörigheter, interkulturell pedagogik och hur det står i förhållande till den svenska historiekulturen kunde den besvaras. Studien visade att många elever, oberoende av härkomst, upplevde att den egna historien inte berördes tillräckligt i undervisningen. Utefter de teorier som presenteras om identitet, där den egna bakgrunden är en del, så ställer sig detta resultat dåligt gentemot historieundervisningen. Vad som ses som en naturlig progression från denna undersökning är hur den svenska historieundervisningens traditionella innehåll kan utmanas och förändras.

The purpose of this master thesis is to examine how librarians/cultural workers act in projects in order to stimulate and promote reading among children and youth in sparsely populated regions in the county of Jämtland during a period of three years, and if/how these projects differ. The examination is based upon the progress of these projects in four of eight communities. Four librarians and two cultural workers have been interviewed in order to get their view of the proceedings of the projects. The results indicate that the four communities all made up plans for three years but in different ways. They mainly collaborated with the school but also with the board of children's health and the preparatory school.

Denna uppsats utgör en explorativ fallstudie om certifieringssystemet BREEAM Communities och dess möjlighet att fungera som ett verktyg för svenska kommuner i plan- och exploateringsprocesser.Sedan ett par år tillbaka pågår de första projekten i Sverige där BREEAM Communities används. Företagen Diligentia och PEAB var först ut att använda verktyget vid utvecklingen av sina stadsdelar Masthusen och Varvsstaden i Västra Hamnen i Malmö.Uppsatsen utgörs i första hand av en kvalitativ intervjustudie med anställda vid Diligentia, PEAB och Malmö Stad, vilken genomfördes våren 2012. Studien kompletterades med två intervjuer med anställda vid Norrköpings kommun, detta eftersom Norrköpings kommun vid tidpunkten för intervjuerna, övervägde en användning av certifieringssystemet vid utvecklingen av stadsdelen Saltängen. Intervjustudien tar utgångspunkt i intervjupersonernas erfarenheter och tankar kring BREEAM Communities? inverkan på arbetsprocessen och vilka hållbarhetsaspekter som hanteras inom de två projekten i Västra Hamnen.

Aim: The aim of this study is to understand why people have changed their preferred community over time. What are the main factors when changing to a new one?Method/material: The method has consisted of personal interviews with six different people in the ages between 20-22 and of different gender. The main material that has been used in this essay is the theory of Uses and Gratifications as explained by Denis McQuail, the theory of Convergence culture by Henry Jenkins and the theory about Communites of Practice by Etienne Wenger.Main results: This study shows a heavy affection that the use of communities often centers round the people around the community, rather than the functions that the communities themselves provides. Having people that you know on the community you choose is a vital part for people or at least having the support of other people and changing to another community at the same time.

The climate for video sharing online is somewhere in the border of becoming a place for only the big companies to distribute material with general interest, or small communities with genre-specific interest to attract a larger audience. In this article I will look at the travelindustry to see what possibilities can be implemented into communities with interest in planning and travelling. I will argue that the importance of collaboration with different media can create a bigger picture so that more people can use and discover each other?s travel videos and experiences. I have also taken a closer look at social interaction at online communities such as MySpace and YouTube.
