Globalisering och ökad invandring i västerländska populationer har sänkt de hinder som en gång delade kulturer, såväl nationellt som internationellt. Sjuksköterskor och andra vårdgivare är enligt lag skyldiga att tillgodose patienten med korrekt information, samt ge känsla av trygghet som bygger på patientens självbestämmande. Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att belysa sjuksköterskors upplevelser av transkulturell kompetens i omvårdnadsarbetet. Litteratursökning gjordes i tre databaser PubMed, Cinahl samt PsycInfo. Samtliga artiklar (14) granskades vetenskapligt, analyserades och sammanställdes.

Media depend on SwAF to provide them with accurate information due to the confidentiality in these matters and the general area of investigation is therefore how the actions of the Swedish Armed Forces, in the submarine incident 2014, were portrayed in the Swedish media. Newspapers and blogs of defense policy represent the media and the thesis is based on the theories constructed by Graham Allison, the rational actor, organizational behavior and governmental politics. Furthermore, it is relevant to examine if there are any similarities or differences in how the submarine incident is illustrated, and what may be the reason for any possible occurrences.

The purpose of this study is to examin the depiction of culturalmeetings in history books in relatioon to the schoolguidelines, and how and why the description may have changed over time. To achieve this, a qualitative method was used to analyze the content of cultural meetings in Swedish schoolbooks after the World War II. The material used in the study was taken from eight editions of Alla tiders historia published between 1985-2011. The material was then put together and analyzed from the theoretical perspectives, which try to explain the factors that influenced the depiction of the texts.The results of this study shows, that over time, the school guidelines have incresed their focus on human value and the need for students to interact with people from other cultures. The depictions in the history books lives upp to the demands of the school guidelines, but this study shows that the main influence of the content of the book is the social context.

Islam är den näst största av världens religioner med 1,5 miljarder utövare och är även det trossamfund som växer snabbast. I och med en eskalerande invandring till västerlandet ökar behovet av kunskap kring den kulturella relationen till hälso- och sjukvård. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva upplevelsen av mötet med västerländsk hälso- och sjukvård hos personer med muslimsk bakgrund. Tio vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades genom kvalitativ manifest innehållsanalys vilket resulterade i sex slutkategorier: Att vara obekväm med vårdare av motsatt kön: Att mötas av respektlöshet och kulturell okänslighet från sin vårdare: Att språkliga barriärer påverkar tillfredställelse med vård: Att vara frustrerad över sjukvårdens struktur och organisation: Att få vara den man är och känna tacksamhet över vården: Att göra allt för att passa in. Resultaten visar olika svårigheter främst kopplade till vårdarens kön samt kommunikation.

Trafficking in human beings and prostitution is an increasing occurrence within the EU. However, vast differences in legal frameworks regarding prostitution can be detected among member states.The Netherlands is an example where prostitution is regarded a legal activity. In other member states legal standings toward prostitution remain ambivalent, where Sweden here serves an example. Finally, Lithuania is among member states where prostitution is considered illegal.The purpose of this paper is therefore to study underlying attitudes and approaches that these three countries have in this rather delicate political question. By interpreting the content and quoting parts of propositions, an ideology analysis is constructed.The theory chapter consists of Rousseau?s theories, Objectivism, Radical Feminist Theory, and Sex-positive Feminist Theory.

The Employment Protection Act (1982:80) provides provisions regarding priority of re-employment. A few cases where these provisions have been subject to examination, have been discussed thoroughly in SOU 2014:55. In these cases the Labour Court has identified the question whether the provisions regarding priority of re-employment can be subject to circumvention in an illegal manner. The Labour Court has stated that it would be incompatible with the sense of justice if the provisions could be circumvented to the detriment of employees entitled to priority of re-employment. However, the Labour Court stated that certain conditions have to be imposed for the assessment.After analysis of the conditions, it is established that they are deemed to cause major difficulties for employees, why it is held that the purpose and the function of the conditions are not achieved. The purpose of the essay is therefore to investigate whether the application of the conditions imposed by the Labour Court, need to undergo modifications to meet the underlying purpose of the creation of the conditions.By reason of the difficulty with the conditions, the essay provides three different amendments in which two of the amendments are ascertained to not contribute to such an improvement that they should actually be applied.

This essay focuses on the elderly and their religious beliefs and is based on the origin idea of a secular Sweden, but where immigration has been the source of additional various religious affiliations. This study intends to nuance the problems that previous researchers focused on when doing research on immigration, by interviewing staff members of nursing homes in immigrant dense areas, especially Malmoe, Gothenburg and Stockholm.The aim is to investigate how the allocation of residents, with different religious than Protestant Christians, is distributed at nursing homes and to see if there is a need for adjustments. Additionally, the thesis about immigrants and immigrants' identity and attitudes to Swedish society is discussed with John Berry´s acculturation theories and strategies.The results show that the majority of the nursing homes have residents with different religious affiliations and that some practical adjustments have been done, but it also shows that nursing homes have changed to the extent that they have adapted to a secular society. Ignorance and prejudice contribute to the problem in terms of seeing all residents as individuals and at the same time ensuring adaption according to all their needs, which is exemplified in the solutions made by using multi-cultural staff members and specialized departments. The relationship between nursing homes and the Swedish church continues but the role of the church service has changed.

Presstödet verkar för att främja mångfalden inom den svenska dagspressen. De krav som ställs för att få presstöd handlar om struktur, inte om åsiktsförmedling. Dock får ett specifikt intresseområde inte ta upp mer än 50 procent av innehållet. Nationell Idag är den enda tidningen med uttalad invandringskritisk profil som får presstöd. Tidningen är tätt sammankopplad med det högerextrema nationalistiska partiet Nationaldemokraterna och ger i sitt innehåll uttryck för partiets åsikter.

In the years 1996-2001 the European Union`s copyright-directive was drawn up. This directive led to much lobbying activities from both copyright holders and library organisations like EBLIDA and IFLA. The Internet and filesharing networks like Napster had led to strong reactions among some copyright holders. Internet gave people an easy opportunity of accessing copyright protected material. Some researchers of copyright have written books where they state that the copyright holders utilize authors fear of illegal copying to strengthen the copyright laws, and by that benefit economical.

Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ studie med utgångspunkt i intervjuer med fem män. I fokus är deras patriarkala rötter, deras förutsättningar för integration och deras syn på heder. Syftet med denna studie är att fördjupa förståelsen för hur män med patriarkala rötter upplever sin integrationsprocess i det svenska samhället. Målet är att uppnå en förståelse för och insikt i de faktorer som är väsentliga för dessa mäns integration men också de omständigheter som motverkar integration. De forskningsfrågor som legat till grund för studien var: Vilka skäl har de haft för att flytta till Sverige? Hur har de etablerat sig i det nya landet? Känner de sig delaktiga i det svenska samhället? Vilka förändringar har skett i familjestrukturerna? Har synen på heder förändrats sedan migrationen till Sverige? Hur definierar de begreppet heder i dag? Resultaten analyseras utifrån den tidigare presenterade forskningen samt teorier som förändringar i patriarkala familjestrukturer, det civila samhället, stat, marknad, familj och kollektivism kontra individualism.

Abstract A phenomenon that has been noticed more and more in media and the public space in recent years is what is called guerrilla gardening. It means the illicit cultivation of someone else?s land. This report's intention is to analyze what impact guerrilla gardening could have on today's urban space in terms of stable changes in norms and physical design. I have also focused on guerrilla gardener?s choice to carry out these actions illegally, without asking for permission, and what impact that could have on the issue of appropriating public space.

Denna uppsats söker efter förklaringar till Sverigedemokraternas valframgångar med utgångspunkt i nationalekonomisk teori om invandringens effekt på samhällsekonomin och ekonomisk forskning kring attityder mot invandring. Linjära sannolikhetsmodeller skattas för en rad olika variabler av främst socioekonomisk art och Sverigedemokraternas valresultat i kommunvalen 2006 som beroende variabel.
