Citizenship is fundamental for participation in a democracy. It gives us rights but also responsibilities in the state that we are citizens of. Citizenship provides us with the opportunity to vote in order to influence who should govern us. However, not all living in a state are citizens. Some individuals are not included in the political life of the state.In recent years, there has been a rise of nationalist political parties in Europe.

This master?s thesis aims at examining and structuring different viewpoints concerning the assignments of the Swedish public library system. The method used is ideology analysis.The main questions are: what are the overriding goals connected to each of the different assignments? How are these goals motivated? By which means are the goals to be reached? And how does our analysis relate to earlier research on the assignments of the Swedish public library? The thesis can be said to consist of three main parts. Part one is a theoretical framework introducing the concept ?ideology analysis? and the concept ?schools of thought?.

Vårt mål med denna uppsats är att förstå de ideologier som finns representerade i ett utbildningsmaterial riktat till ungdomar om problematiken kring mäns våld mot kvinnor. Vi använder oss av en kombinerad argumentations- och Ideologianalys för att nå svaret på vår frågeställning. Detta är en oortodox metod inom genusvetenskapen, vilken får oss att positionera oss feministisk-empiristiskt. Detta har bevisat för oss hur genusvetenskapen kan utvecklas och anammas även av mer traditionella discipliner. Svaret på frågeställningen är att materialet har en maktkritisk poststrukturalistisk intention, där postkoloniala och queerteoretiska antaganden marginaliserats till förmån för könsaspekten av maktförhållandena.

Denna uppsats är en kritisk Ideologianalys av den liberala frihetssynen utifrån feministisk teori. Som empiriska exempel har vi tagit sexualiseringen av det offentliga rummet och mer specifikt reklamens objektifiering av kvinnan och åtföljande diskussion om lagstiftning mot könsdiskriminerande reklam. Reklamens objektifiering av kvinnan inskränker på kvinnors reella frihet att definiera sig själva som individer och att vara fria från könsdiskriminering, en inskränkning som osynliggörs inom den liberala frihetssynen genom dess betoning på individen. Den feministiska kritiken framför mer användbara verktyg för att analysera det strukturella förtrycket av kvinnan och vi har utifrån en mer enhetlig syn på frihet med bas i Maccallums frihetsdefinition påvisat att inskränkningar i individers/gruppers frihet kan leda till större frihet för flertalet. Vem friheten är till för, dess innebörd och utformning kan således inte fastställas en gång för alla utan är en process som sker genom kontinuerliga avvägningar mellan olika individers och gruppers intressen.Nyckelord: Liberalism, frihet, förtryck, feminism, reklam.Antal tecken: 69 421 (inklusive blanksteg).

This Bachelor's thesis examines and describes the ideas and ideological traits surrounding the public library within the governmental cultural policy. The Bachelor's thesis demonstrates how the public library ? even though its relevance in the modern society has shifted over time ? has maintained a connection to the governmental cultural policy and has therefore been shaped by the ideological changes in the political sphere as a whole. The main issues are: Which ideas concerning the public library's functions are expressed in the governmental cultural policy? Which ideological tendencies can be identified in the national cultural policy? Which ideas concerning the public library can be extracted through the found ideological tendencies? The method used in order to study the governmental bill is an ideology analysis based on a framework created by Dorte Skot-Hansen.

The focus of this master thesis is the library politics of the French Right wing party the National Front and the debate that followed the application of this politics. This qualitative study is divided into two parts where the critics to this politics represents one side and the adherents the other. The critics are composed by representatives from the French, Swedish and ? to some extent ? international library sector, while the adherent side is made up of politicians from the National Front and their adherents. The empiric material mostly consists of articles published in library, Right wing and daily press.

Forskningsfrågorna handlar således om att undersöka hur olika aktörer uppfattar innehållet och begreppet ?värdegrund? innan beslutet om den nya läroplanen antogs av Riksdagen.

The aim of this Master thesis is to delineate the ideology behind the public library politics in Gothenburg, during 1945-50. The study is an archive survey. To be able to account for the public library politics in Gothenburg during the period, the author has studied documents in the archive of the public library board in Gothenburg. The description of the politics is the source for the research papers analysis. The thesis principal issue, is on what ideological basis the public library politics has been formulated in Gothenburg, during the period of interest? The concept of ideology is defined as a coherent system of norms and values.

This Masters Degree thesis aims at giving an answer to what underlying ideologies are at work in digitizing our cultural heritage. Other questions to be answered are who are benefiting from a digitized cultural heritage and who are not, and what different opinions about digitizing our cultural heritage can be identified. Two studies are made in this thesis, one of Swedish political documents that concern digitizing our cultural heritage, libraries, museums and archives, and the other one is a study of documentation of three Swedish digitizing projects. In the first study three different, but closely associated ideologies are identified, namely a preserving, b giving access and c a mixture of both, and these are shown in a model. In the second study this model is then used to identify the ideologies of one project from each sector of the so called ABM-sector Archives, Libraries and Museums.

Denna undersökning handlar om inkludering av elever med AST i grundskolan. Syftet med studienär att jämföra den beskrivning som Autism- och Aspergerförbundet och Skolinspektionen ger avbegreppet inkludering, vad de anser behövas för att elever med AST ska kunna inkluderas igrundskolan samt hur de skildrar att denna grupp har det i grundskolan idag. Utifrån detta syfte hartre forskningsfrågor formats.Detta är en kvalitativ undersökning som utgått från ett induktivt förhållningssätt. Det är i förstahand en litteraturstudie, som studerat och jämfört dokument från Autism- och Aspergerförbundetrespektive Skolinspektionen. Även två intervjuer med företrädare för ovan nämnda parter gjordes.Analysen genomfördes under inflytande av idé- och Ideologianalys.Studien visar att Autism- och Aspergerförbundet respektive Skolinspektionen definierar begreppetinkludering på skilda sätt, där de förra anser att individen bör få utrymme att bestämma över sinegen situation medan de senare anser att samma inkluderande ideal bör omfatta alla.

The Swedish Library Classification System, known as the SAB-system, can be viewed as a product of the cultural and social norms and values in Sweden during the time in which it was created and subsequently reviewed. The main purpose of this master?s thesis is to examine the archaeology section J in the SAB-system, in order to observe if values and norms within this discipline had any impact on the Swedish Library classification system. Our intention is therefore to verify any correspondence between the choice of topics and hierarchical structure of that section, and the values and norms that ruled the Swedish society during the 20th century at large but with particular emphasis to the academic discipline of Archaeology. At the present, Archaeology is often disputed as a value-free interpretive science.

Democracy has been a part of the Swedish society for a long period of time and it is also a part of the Swedish elementary school curriculum, in which you can find a number of statements that expresses that the Swedish elementary school should socialize the children into becoming role model citizens. This also conjures with the available research that describes schools in general as socializing. This led me to a question that hasn?t been answered: How much of the curriculums reasons for socialization the pupils are based on democratic values and how much of it can be dated back to events prior to the curriculum?The methodological approach is an analysis of ideologies as described by Sven-Eric Liedman and Ingemar Nilsson in Ideologi och Ideologianalys. The text is focusing on the fact that a text has two layers; one is the manifest which is roughly the same as explicit or present in the text.

Trafficking in human beings and prostitution is an increasing occurrence within the EU. However, vast differences in legal frameworks regarding prostitution can be detected among member states.The Netherlands is an example where prostitution is regarded a legal activity. In other member states legal standings toward prostitution remain ambivalent, where Sweden here serves an example. Finally, Lithuania is among member states where prostitution is considered illegal.The purpose of this paper is therefore to study underlying attitudes and approaches that these three countries have in this rather delicate political question. By interpreting the content and quoting parts of propositions, an ideology analysis is constructed.The theory chapter consists of Rousseau?s theories, Objectivism, Radical Feminist Theory, and Sex-positive Feminist Theory.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to examine the debate concerning Agnes von Krusenstjernas Fröknarna von Pahlen-novels from a ideological analytic perspective. This debate came to be called The Krusenstjerna feud Krusenstjernafejden and was most intensive in the years 1934-35 after Porten vid Johannes and Älskande par had been published. We examine 8 articles using a text analytic method. We have limited ourselves to public material that is available in Swedish press and Swedish magazines. Our ambition is, through this, to determine the articles authors political point of view and ideas of preference.
