The Egyptian religion viewed the whole world as divine and inhabited by both gods and men. Concepts such as death was therefore explained through myths. The ancient society feared death but desired an eternal life. The Egyptians saw death as a physical dismemberment of the body as had happened in the myth of Osiris when death was first introduced to the world. Osiris functioned as a prototype for all men as he had overcome death by finding a new existence in the netherworld.

This project was a request of Norrbodal´s Forestry Board, Västra Götaland. It was performed as a qualitative interview analysis of private forest owner?s deficient motivation regarding pre-commercial thinning. The purpose of the project is to investigate what the Forestry Board can do to motivate private forest owners to do more pre-commercial thinning. The results build upon 16 qualitative phone interviews with forest owners that have their forest within the district of Norrbodal. The owners are divided into two groups, the one who have performed the pre-commercial thinning and the one that has possible pre-commercial thinning needs on their properties according to the pre-commercial thinning analysis ,which is the result of a satellite analysis.

There is respect for the history of dance and my aim is to find out how the history affects the dancing youth today. The design of the dance lesson is often of a traditional stereotypical manner, both didactic and methodic, and it rarely appears to be questioned. I have danced for almost 20 years and I am a part of this tradition of movements, music, language and way of ?being?. My ambition with this study is to go outside my own experience and offer insight and an overall picture of a, for the outsider, closed world.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka de villkor kring vilka unga tjejer formar sin sexualitet. Det gör jag genom att titta på hur sexualitet beskrivs och hur kön positioneras i en kontext som är avsedd för unga tjejer. Jag vill också anlägga ett tidsperspektiv för att se om det skett någon förändring över tid och hur den i så fall ser ut. Empirin utgörs av texter från tidningen FRIDA från 1983 och 2008. Frågeställningarna är: Hur beskrivs tjejers och killars upplevelse av sex? Hur beskrivs tjejers och killars sexualitet? Hur positioneras kön i utsagorna? Jag använder mig av diskursanalys som metod, och teoretiska utgångspunkter är socialkonstruktivism, teorier om diskurs och genusteoretiska begrepp.

Eslöv received its city privileges in the year 1911 and to celebrate the city?s 100th jubilee it has been decided, among many other things, to reinvigorate the City park. This master thesis presents a new proposal for the design of the City park. As a basis for the new proposal a study of the public park is made in a social and structural context as well as a study of the history of the Eslöv City park. The history of the Eslöv City park is somewhat unclear, especially if there has ever been a one design for the whole park? To create a picture of the public park in general, a study of literature has been made and to describe the history of the City park I Have researched the city archive in Eslöv.

This Master of Science thesis was a part of Pharmadule Emtungas project to construct a mobile automated cell for welding of carbon steel pipe (Heating, Ventilation and Sanitation). Pharmadule Emtunga is using a modular building concept for building pharmaceutical factories. The modules contain these pipes. The goal of the thesis was to present concepts for technical solutions regarding welding methods and fixtures for the cell. Conceptual models for the cell were made with aid of CAD software.

Syfte:Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur Sundsvalls Tidning framställt Länssjukhuset Sundsvall Härnösand vid rapporteringen om nedskärningarna, samt hur denna framställning påverkat organisationens kommunikatörers arbete. Teori:Teorier som används i studien handlar om hur händelser blir nyheter, nyhetsvärdering, media reputation samt mediernas gestaltningsmakt, med tyngdpunkt på framing. Vi tar även upp teorier om internkommunikation under förändringar och nedskärningar samt kommunikatörens roll. Metod:Kvantitativ innehållsanalys och kvalitativa samtalsintervjuer. Material:Nyhetsartiklar som berör nedskärningarna vid Länssjukhuset Sundsvall Härnösand i Sundsvalls Tidning under tidsperioden 1-28 februari 2010 samt intervjuunderlag med kommunikatörer vid Länssjukhuset Sundsvall Härnösand.

The essay proceeds to discuss and evaluate the findings, whilst reflecting on the advantages of social media usage from the point of view of an official national tourism organization.Method: The authors used three different methods of research: one structured observation to study the national tourism organizations? everyday work in social media, one field stimulation to study if and how different NTO respond if a prospective visitor makes them a direct question via social media and finally an email interview to gain insight into NTO?s underlying strategies and policies about social media usage.Theoretical framework: The theories that have been used in this paper include the Uses and gratifications model, theories of one-way and multi-way communication, theories of social media and relationship marketing.Conclusion: By making use of social media the company releases some of its control to the customers as the latter can express their opinions freely in this type of media. One of the advantages of social media is that the platform favors dialogue and feedback. Social media can be used for traditional one-way communication, but works best as a supplement to the regular marketing activities, allowing the activities on social media platforms to focus on branding and building long-term customer relationships.

Syftet med studien är att ur ett kritiskt diskursanalytiskt perspektiv analysera hur fenomenet mobbning, även kallat kränkningar, mellan lärare och elever konstrueras diskursivt på tre arenor. Dessa arenor är forskning om mobbning, läroplaner och skollagen samt fokusgruppssamtal mellan lärarvikarier. Studien utgår ifrån ett diskursanalytiskt perspektiv där man menar att språket konstruerar vår bild av världen och inte endast ?avbildar den som den är?. Så fort vi använder språket tolkar vi även vår omvärld.

Close to the city center of Reykjavik lies the combined national- and university library of Iceland. Usually, these two types of institutions are separated. The purpose of this essay is to investigate how the library in fact selects the new digital material to offer the users in Iceland, and if the combined mission creates any problems or conflicts.The investigation examines the planning and the content of the digital library, what user groups are addressed and how the organisation is held together despite the different missions. If cultural context in Iceland makes a difference for what is selected and offered to the users is also discussed.Six informants in strategic library positions dealing with the digital national- or university library, were interviewed. The answers have been analysed in light of the library&information literature on building and maintaining digital library collections and organizational and marketing theory.The main result of the study is that the informants do not see a conflict between the missions of the organisation, although traces of a struggle were found in some areas.

The purpose of this Master Thesis has been to investigate the possibilities for a new type of noise reduction solution that could decrease the negative effects resulting from larger traffic roads. The idea has been to construct a noise barrier with a roof ? like a tunnel placed on a road. The choice of material has been focused on transparent materials in order to lower visual intrusion and barrier effects. This project idea is called the Noise tunnel.After having investigated the current offer of noise solutions, it has been concluded that these solutions rarely provide a sufficient level of noise reduction ? at least not when government regulations of acceptable noise levels are applied.
