This is a comparative study examining one school with scheduled homework assistance andone school without homework help tuition. The study has investigated the use of the schoolbasedhomework assistance program at a grade school in a municipality outside of Stockholm.To what extent do the pupils use this resource, and what are their attitudes to it? Do theyregard it as a useful resource? What is the opinion of the teachers involved, do they findhomework tuition relevant and meaningful?The governing documents for the Swedish schools do not make the handing out of homeworkmandatory, and do not require that schools organize homework assistance. The emphasis inconnection with homework is that pupils should learn to take responsibility for their ownstudies. There is, however, a commersial market for homework assistance, at prices that arenot accessible for most parents, and some municipal schools have stared programs forhomework tuition.

This paper discusses some concerns about Japanese gender identity as a construct and the subversive means to overthrow it. In my paper I claim that the eastern influences on Japan has created a gap between old and new gender- traditions and norms. This interspace is what the philosopher Judith Butler claims as the site for a possible gender transformation. As Butler claims gender identity to be a construct, I use her methods of understanding and subsequently queertheory, to investigate the construct of Japanese gender identity and also the norms that constitute a national identity. As I elaborate on this theory I use specific artworks from Morimura Yasumasa, Yoshiko Shimada and Bubu de la Madeleine and also the all-male theatre kabuki vs.

AbstractThis study deals with outdoor education together with Swedish language teaching. In my future profession as a teacher I want to be able to offer my pupils varied, discovering and exploring lessons focused on nature. The aim of this study is to throw light upon outdoor teaching, hoping that more people will discover nature as the right place to learn.In my study I have asked these questions:? What is outdoor education?? How can Swedish be taught out of doors?? Why is this method a good complement to the traditional teaching in the classroom?With these questions in wiev I made three qualitative interviews with teachers with different backgrounds. In addition I have planned, taught and evaluated the lesson that is the basis of the result.Outdoor education should be given increasing time in school and be used as a complement to the traditional teaching in the classroom.

The increased specialisation and complexity in products and services has created the need for Swedish companies to focus more on their core businesses. This has resulted in them opting to buy services and products that lie outside of their core business from consultancy businesses or other types of suppliers. When companies describe their offers in internal and external marketing it is done often in terms of company or service attributes that are not based on customer value or offered value for the customer. The reason for this is that companies have not adapted their services to the different needs of their customers. As a result of this, they run the risk of offering the same services as their competitors and communicate values that the customers either do not understand or experience as value adding. By using the theory on the data collection from the case company we have an understanding and shown how the customer values can be developed from a service company?s internal and external prerequisites and competitive advantages.

Uppsatsens huvuddel handlar om offer och offrandet inom de svenska samernas förkristna tro, där björnriten lyfts fram som en egen del. Innan man kommer till detta får man kort ta del av samernas gudavärld, vilken bestod i många olika gudomar eftersom samerna trodde att allt var besjälat. Därefter kan man läsa om nåiden, den man som kunde försätta sig i trans för att resa i andevärlden då man behövde hjälp vid exempelvis någon sjukdom. Sist i denna del har trumman fått en egen plats, vilken bland annat nåiden ibland använde som hjälpmedel för att försätta sig i trans. I den sista delen innan diskussionsdelen kan man läsa om de möjliga förändringsfaktorerna för offrande, där nybyggare och den kristna missionen lyfts fram som två exempel.Syftet med denna uppsats var att visa att offrandet och offrandets betydelse förändrades genom kontakt med nybyggare och andra kulturmöten, vilken troligtvis var en av orsakerna till förändring av offrandets betydelse.

This Masters' thesis is a study on the information behaviour of hospital personnel at the University Hospital in Lund, Sweden. A questionnaire was distributed to 301 nurses and physicians working in the intensive care unit, the population was reduced to 244 persons. The response rate was 52%, i.e. 125 questionnaires were completed. Nurses constituted 68 % of the population.

Bakgrund: Globalisering ger förutsättningar för tillväxt av internationella fusioner och förvärv. Vad gäller att de svenska företagens framkant inom IT-branschen drar till sig amerikanernas intresse för förvärvning av det svenska för att komma åt egenskapen som det svenska företaget innehar.Problemformulering: Vilka kommunikations- och styrningsfaktorer är viktiga vid internationella fusioner och förvärv?Syftet: Att skapa förståelse för internationella fusioner och förvärv genom att analysera och utvärdera kommunikation och styrningsprocessen, samt kulturens gestalt före och efter ett amerikanskt förvärv av ett svenskt företag.Metod: Undersökningen är en fallstudie med kvalitativ ansats och består av intervjuer med ledningen som har varit inblandade före och efter det internationella fusion och förvärvet.Slutsats: Det är viktigt att ta hänsyn till följande styrningsfaktorer: företagets storlek och hemmamarknad, organisationsstruktur och kärngrupp/ledaren samt kommunikationsfaktorerna: extern kommunikation, intern kommunikation och kommunikationens riktning, då dessa har en avgörande roll i integrationsprocessen av en internationell fusion och förvärv.  .

Vi hade en tes när vi började arbetet med den här uppsatsen och den var att rapporteringen om hiv och aids ur ett Sverigeperspektiv har minskat. Det var vår utgångspunkt när vi utvecklade vårt syfte med uppsatsen. Syftet blev därför att undersöka hur hiv och aids beskrivs, när det beskrivs ur ett Sverigeperspektiv i svensk press. Med Sverigeperspektiv menar vi artiklar som berör Sverige och landets befolkning. Vårt material har bestått av artiklar från två av Sveriges största tidningar, Dagens Nyheter och Expressen.

Tillsammans med forskare, pedofiler och offer diskuterar vi mediebildens verkningar; vilka blir konsekvenserna av mediernas sätt att rapportera? Skulle rapporteringen kunna se annorlunda ut och i så fall - vad skulle man vinna på det?.

A conference is not only a meeting but an experience as well. The purpose of this study was to analyze and evaluate four conference organizers within the area of Stockholm Sweden, and to identify their range of activities. Studies were made regarding these conference organizers and how they cooperate with other companies to offer a wider aspect of range. The purpose was also to find out how the demand side of the market appears. The demand side of the market could give an implication of how the conference organizers appear from their perspective and how the conference organizers adjust to their demand.

A trend since the early 90?s has been that some public libraries offer a special shelf containing environmental information to the community, but it seems as though the subject has been overlooked by the literature and the science community. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to study how three independent public libraries work with environmental information that is made available to the community. The following questions were addressed: 1) Which arguments can be found as to why the libraries offer this activity? 2) How does the environmental work at the public libraries look and what does it contain of? 3) Are there any similarities or differences in this work between the three libraries?To answer these questions interviews with librarians were carried out; observations were made to complement the interviews.

In recent years e-commerce has experienced a big increase in usage. Internet however, cannot offer the same level of personal contact as traditional shops can.E-commerce is characterized by impersonal and standardized web shops that do not stimulate any emotional connection between the customer and the company. Without this personal contact with the customer the possibilities for the company to stimulate loyalty decreases. Loyalty however, is as important in e-commerce as it is in traditional commerce. The authors of this paper chose the following problem for the study:What marketing strategies are fortunate for e-commerce companies to use to create loyal customers?To research this subject the authors saw it fit to combine qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Syftet med undersökningen är att se hur alkoholen påverkade gärningspersoner och brottsoffervid misshandelsfall i Halmstad 1915 till 1925. Jag vill klargöra vem som var offer, det villsäga offrens socialklass och kön. Jag tittar också på vilken påverkan alkoholen hade kopplattill just dessa faktorer.Att det fanns ett samband mellan alkoholkonsumtion och misshandelsbrottslighet på ettnationellt plan var känt sedan tidigare. Det hade emellertid aldrig gjorts någon undersökningpå ett lokalt plan i Halmstad. Det finns inte heller någon specifik forskning på brottsoffren idessa fall.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to examine virtual reading groups, and which meaning the users perceive that the virtual reading groups offer. In addition, the study inquires which details can be improved to further amend the needs and wants among the users of virtual reading groups. Through these outlines, it is discussed how libraries and librarians can make use of virtual reading groups as a resource. The study is based upon qualitative interviews, consisting of asynchronous e-mail interviews with a total of sixteen members in two different virtual reading groups.
