Water related problems are highlighted as a challenge to sustainable development and the topic of forests and water is gaining increased attention worldwide. Governing forest and water is a complex issue, as the interactions are affected by policies and actors from multiple levels and sectors. In Sweden, forests cover much of the land and forestry is an important land-use, inevitably impacting the water in the landscape. This study aims to understand and explain the existing governance framework around forestry and water in Sweden. Based on the Policy Arrangement Approach, the study?s research questions focused on the actors involved, the formal and informal rules, the resources and power structures and the discourses related to forestry and water in Sweden.

In this paper I propose a definition on what right-wing populism is, by comparing three right-wing populist parties; the Swedish Democrats in Sweden, the Danish Folks Party in Denmark and the Progress Party in Norway. This is also my question formulation. I have used the idea analysis to straighten out the concept of right-wing populism. The purpose of this paper is to make a definition of the concept of right-wing populism, since one seldom speaks of what right-wing populism is but rather only uses it with parties who want to decrease immigration. However is it much more to a right-wing populist party than just the immigration question.      I begin by discussing the previous research about populism and right-wing populism to see what conclusions previous researchers have made.

Bakgrund Dagens samhälle är präglat av en medvetenhet kring övervikt, vilket kan ha lett till de ideal som råder när det gäller kropp och hälsa. Media påverkar samhällets ideal kring utseende och har en viktig roll vid spridning av kostinformation gällande viktnedgång.Syfte Syftet är att utforska synen på webbpublicerad kostinformation gällande viktnedgång.Metod Fyra kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes och urvalet baserades på att deltagarna skulle ha en vilja att minska i vikt samt regelbundet läste kostinformation gällande viktnedgång på internet.Resultat Deltagarna trodde inte att informationen som ges i kvällstidningarnas webbupplaga är tillförlitlig och att enda syftet är att tjäna pengar. Man upplevde förvirring kring nya rön och metoder gällande viktminskning och ansåg att omgivningen lätt tar till sig den information som finns på internet. Idealen i samhället och som visas på internet ansågs vara förvridna och ohälsosamma. Idealet tycktes vara en smal och vältränad kropp vilket informanterna inte själva upplevde sig kunde nå upp till och kände ett misslyckande över och gjorde att de även kände sig än mer uppgivna inför en viktminskning.

Sammanfattning En stad och dess stadsdelar kan planeras på olika sätt, mycket beroende på tidens ideal och politik. Stadens planering kan ses som ett skelett, den struktur som ska vara stadens ryggrad. Utan ett skelett växer staden som ett ryggradslöst djur, en amöba. Ett skelett kan ha olika utseenden och strukturer beroende på hur det ska användas, fågel, fisk eller mitt emellan. På samma sätt kan stadsplanering fungera med olika strukturer och utseende.

The possibility and the right to be able to communicate with municipalities or other state companies and politicians are natural for the Swedish citizens. However, they may be unaware that this communication process is called citizen dialogue.Today there are so many ways to communicate; one-way communication is not possible in the same way as before. It is above all social media such as Facebook, which has opened the gates one could only dream of.  Via a medium such as Facebook creates a strong citizen dialogue in which the municipality and citizens communicate openly and ask questions and give response.The purpose of this study is to find out how Karlstad?s municipality uses, and maintains, citizen dialogue on Facebook. What are the guidelines and how do the municipality use these? In this paper a qualitative expert interview and a qualitative content analysis has been used to answer the purpose of the essay.

Denna sociologiska uppsats behandlar den subjektiva upplevelsen av moderskapet. Det som problematiseras är vilka normativa förväntningar kvinnorna upplever i moderskapet samt hur de upplever att familjelivet förändras efter att paret fått barn. Uppsatsen belyser dessa problem utifrån ett före- och efterperspektiv relaterat till hushållet, yrkesarbete och föräldraskap.  Modersbilden i dagens samhälle vrids mellan ett husmors ideal och den framgångsrike yrkeskarriäristen. Den goda modern lever upp till hushållsidealet, har en framgångsrik karriär och vårdar sitt yttre efter dagens alla hälso- och skönhetsideal.

Vänskap inom det sociala nätverket Facebook innebär en ny form för vänskap där de traditionella kännetecknen som spontanitet och förtrolighet får mindre betydelse. När vänskaper får rätta sig efter en formell struktur får det konsekvenser för hur relationen ser ut. Syftet med denna studie är att öka förståelsen för hur Facebook-användare själva ser på vänskapsformen och att belysa detta ur ett maktperspektiv. Frågeställningarna besvaras med hjälp av en genomgång av relevant teori och forskning, kompletterat av empiriskt material i form av observationer och intervjuer. Resultaten analyseras utifrån studiens syfte och frågeställningar.

In order to be a good teacher according to preferences from outside the school area, there are many different voices to listen to. The different roles that are assigned for teachers are colliding with the latest research from the pedagogical institutions and therefore the role as a teacher of today is in a complex state of mind. Somewhere, between the traditional role of teaching and the moderating ideal image, reality is revealed in the ambivalent role of the teacher of today. In this pedagogical essay on advanced level we are focusing on obstacles that are hindering the moderating teacher?s role, to be fully developed in the classroom.

In Italy in 1528 the famous author Baldassare Castiglione published the book Il Cortegiano. In words Castiglione portraits the ideal courtiers and provides a lot of advice on how to achieve the ultimate courtier manner. For example he introduces and explains the words sprezzatura and grazia. His advice spread from Italy and influenced the courts around Europe. My purpose with this study has been two folded. Firstly, I have analysed Castigliones Il Cortegiano in order to examine his vision of virtues and ideals.

The purpose of this essay is to examine Egyptian university students´attitudes about the Egyptian education system´s ability to support a democratic process in Egypt. In order to carry out my study, scientific books and articles have been read and interviews have been made among Egyptian university students. The interviews contained questions about the Egyptian education system´s impact on the democratic process in Egypt and which impact the Egyptian education system has had on the Egyptian revolution.The conclusion drawn from my study is that Egyptian university students find the contemporary Egyptian education system based on authoritarian rules and with a lack of democratic values. The Egyptian university students believe that to establish democratic institutions in Egypt, the Egyptian citizens need a better understanding about democratic values. However, some of the students believe that the democracy that should be established in Egypt, must be based on Islamic values and to succeed with that, Islamic studies must play a greater part in the Egyptian education.When it comes to the Egyptian education system´s impact on the Egyptian revolution the Egyptian university students´opinions were somehow divided. .

This paper deals with institutional and structural factors' influence on democratic transition in limited multiparty regimes in Sub-Saharan Africa. Comparing the cases Kenya and Tanzania, of which the former has made a transition to democracy and the latter has not, this paper reaches the conclusion that political traditions, the coalescing of the opposition, and the elites ability to learn from the electoral process is essential for a transition to democracy. In the specific cases, the harshness of the Moi regime and the Tanzanian vision of national unity may possibly carry some explanatory power, alongside the pressure from international actors.These results have been reached through the application of a comparative case study, where democratic transition constitutes the dependent variable. It should be noted that a harsh definition of the term transition has been applied, according to which the incumbents actual loss of an election is a necessary indicator for transition. However, the Freedom House and Polity scores have been brought up as complement of this definition.

Abstract ? Noblesse oblige: a roleplaying gameDuring the 17th-century the Swedish nobility was forced to deal with a number of new challenges. They reached the height of their power, but also began their downfall. How did the nobility?s ideal come to be in the face of this? Can we in these ideals find the duties and obligations of the nobility? And if we can, how can a roleplaying game be made out of the historical facts? A roleplaying game meant for educational means, well suited for the classroom and teachers, capable of stimulating the young minds and offering them an in depth understanding of how the nobility?s minds moved.

AbstractFöreliggande arbete diskuterar ghanianska tidningar ur ett demokratiskt perspektiv. Genom att konstruera en idealmodell för hur dessa tidningar bör se ut i ?den bästa av alla demokratier? beskrivs hur verkligheten bör förhålla sig till ett ideal. Denna modell prövas sedan, genom en kvantitativ textanalytisk metod, på ett empiriskt material som består av artiklar från fem olika ghanianska tidningar. Utifrån dessa artiklar är syftet sedan att undersöka till vilken grad de ghanianska tidningarna lever upp till det utvalda demokratiska idealet.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how the research library of Linnæus University is used by students as a meeting place. Building upon Putnam's theory of bonding and bridging social capital and Audunson's conception of high and low intensive meeting places, it aims to explore the research library's potential for creating social capital and thus strengthening both learning and democracy in a university context. Borrowing part of the survey design from a study conducted as part of the Norwegian PLACE project, this study collects responses from 134 students as to their use of the library as a meeting place. The results show that the Linnæus University library is used for a variety of meetings of both high and low intensity, why it should provide a good setting for the creation of social capital. There seems to be a connection between how often one visits the library, as well as to which department one belongs, and how one uses the library as a meeting place.

The discussion is based on media?s role as a multiplier in a democracy.Method: We have used a quantitative method and studied the media coverage in four Swedish newspapers 23 days before the Swedish election on 7th of June 2009.Results: We have come to the conclusion that media is in fact meeting its democratic role as a multiplier, in any case as long as we only take in conclusion the amount of articles that has been published. We have seen that the media coverage for the first time has increased both in number of articles and in how big the articles were.
