This master thesis project will describe and evaluate the interfaces between applications and Controller Area Network, CAN, interface boards from different manufacturers. The interfaces have corresponding functions but the usage of parameters is different. The simply communication of sending and receiving messages is more alike than the supplementary functions between the different interfaces. The CAN communication is more controlled by the CAN protocol and is therefore more alike. The evaluation shows differences and similarities between different interfaces and also difficulties and options to translate them.

Syftet med denna undersökning var att ta reda på om en viss ?omotiverad? klass yrkeselever delade upp sina ämnen i olika kategorier och hur detta påverkade deras motivation, särskilt i engelska. Tidigare forskning antyder att yrkeselever ofta delar upp sina ämnen i ?praktiska?, eller yrkesämnen och ?teoretiska? eller gymnasiegemensamma (GG) ämnen och att de har sänkt motivation i de sistnämnda. Tolv elever i en värme, ventilation och sanitets- (VVS) klass svarade på en enkät och tre av dem intervjuades individuellt.

There are problems with poor quality, poor scheduling and poor working climate in the Swedish construction industry. Many parts have been involved, trying to solve the problem.This spring a new planning and building-law becomes final. In this law, the requirements set on the controls are greater. Hopefully this will lead to fewer construction errors. The requirements set on the working environment have also increased, forcing consultants and contractors to focus on safe workplaces.For each project requiring a building permit, an inspection plan has to been drawn.

Sedan 2005 ska företag pröva goodwills nedskrivningsbehov minst en gång årligen. Det här regleras i IAS 36 där det finns instruktioner om hur nedskrivningsprövningarna ska gå till. Dock har det i tidigare studier konstaterats att informationen som lämnas i anslutning till prövningarna inte är tillräcklig för att ge läsaren den användbarhet som bör finnas. Därför har författarna av uppsatsen genomfört en fallstudie med syfte att beskriva hur åtta företag motiverar sina nedskrivningsprövningar.Syftet med uppsatsen var att studera hur åtta börsnoterade företag som redovisar enligt IAS/IFRS värderar sin goodwill i samband med nedskrivningsprövningar. Tyngdpunkten låg på de motiveringar som låg till grund för värderingarna.Uppsatsen grundar sig på en kvalitativ fallstudie där årsredovisningar för åtta företag har studerats.

Tail-biting in pigs is an animal welfare issue and in Sweden during 2002 the producers lost tree million Swedish crowns because of tail biting. This economic loss depends on the pigs which are discarded at slaughter because of tail biting. Tail biting can be separated into two stages, "pre-injury" and "injury". The aim of this study is to investigate if tail biting depends on environment or genetic background.A lot of research on the environments effects on the behaviour of pigs but not so much on the genetic effects has been performed. The frequency of tail biting in pig farms influence among others of environment enrichment, ventilation, gender and breed of the pig.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the political ambitions regarding culture inVärmland, and the situation for artists living on the countryside in Värmland. This meansthat the conditions surronding the artists situation will be looked upon. I have chosen thepolitical document Kulturplanen, created by Region Värmland, as my guideline to whatkind of political view there is on art and cultures role in the region. Furthermore, I havechosen Pierre Bourdieu`s theory about art as a field controlled by and under the influenceof different rules within the filed itself and what or whom has the power to act and be apart of the filed. I also use interviews as my method for this study.

At the Division of Electricity at UppsalaUniversitythere are ongoing researches, including a research concerning turbo generators.Turbo generators produce a large share of electricity in the world; however they are costly mainly due to the fact that the cooling and ventilation that are needed to eliminate the excess heat from the generators are expensive. Turbo generators work with high efficiency and in this project, the main task is to simulate a generator while taking into account that the generator must be designed against self-oscillation, centrifugal force, exhaustion and heat. The turbo generator must be simulated without being too expensive and complicated.In this project, the dimensions of the turbo generator depend on the efficiency of it, and where the losses are in the generator. Furthermore, the optimum values need to be chosen with the help of the ACE simulation program. The report begins with an introduction describing the project followed by a task description that is dealing with the project.

Marinediesel has, to meet there customers needs for a suitable sterndrive to powerboats, developed a prototype. The prototype is currently in the testing phase. The opportunity to test the sterndrive under load inside the workshop has not previously been possible. Until now the drive has been tested in a test bench without any load on the propeller axle. The prototype has also been tested under real conditions mounted on a boat.The idea with my thesis was to create a test bench that can run around the clock in order to be able to test things like wear and service intervals and other things that require that the test interval is long.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the significance of the national assessment in highschool education, including what the teachers express about the new instructions currently coming from the Swedish National Agency of Education, concerning a more central control of grading the national assessments. This study also covers the teachers individual responsibility when it comes to grading the national assessments. The purpose of the national assessment is to secure that grading and the education level in the country is equal. This is a qualitative study useing the method of a group discussion intervju (focusgroup intervju). Five highschool teachers took part in the discussion with questions that had been decided beforehand.

This paper is written as an examination paper at the University of Jönköping. The subject is chosen by Peab Sweden in Jönköping with whom further cooperation has been hold. The aim is to compare building methods and building materials in Sweden, Finland and Germany for further inspiration for Peab?s own market.BackgroundThe development of the construction industry develops new materials and methods to the market which has been forced by shorter construction times and the environment aspect. To pursue the development, further knowledge exchange should exist between the countries.

A major issue that has been a subject for quite some time is whether there will be a scarcity of metals in the bedrock in the future and whether or not we might end up with a problem similar to that of the big oil crisis in the mid-seventies. Following the oil crisis many oil companies started up with risk management to control future risks. This work presents how Swedish mining companies work with risk management to handle risks that might come up in the future due to metal scarceness. How Swedish mining companies look at the possible metal scarceness and if they use risk management in their decision-making process is studied. By doing interviews with Swedish owned mining companies it was found that the mining companies did not see the future metal scarcity as a risk, even though 2/3 of the companies acknowledged the scarceness to be a reality.

Hur vi uppfattar vår omgivning påverkas av alla våra fem sinnen, där denna uppsats tar sin utgångspunkt i hörseln och det vi hör. Utifrån en litteraturstudie och egna reflektioner har ljuds betydelse och hur det påverkar oss i det dagliga livet undersökts. Syftet har varit att öka förståelsen för vad ljud betyder för vårt välbefinnande och hur vi som landskapsarkitekter kan ha ljudet i åtanke när vi gestaltar utemiljön. Ljud är mer än den fysiska ljudvågen. Det kan ge oss information om vår omgivning, spegla rörelser, underlätta orienterbarheten och vara en del av hur vi uppfattar rumslighet. Vi hör hela tiden, men lyssnar inte alltid medvetet.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how gender is constructed in presentence reports written by social workers? as mandated by 11§ LUL. Young offenders are often assigned normative masculine or feminine attributes by personnel at treatment centers, girls are considered emotional and in need of support while boys are considered disorderly and in need of structure. Young female delinquents are victimized which affects their culpability; they are less likely to be held responsible for the crimes they committed. Young male delinquents are viewed as aggressive and in control; they are more likely to be held accountable for their criminal actions.

The aim of this study is to elucidate factors that effect growth of Sarcina lutea and Bacillus subtilis, exposed to the growth inhibitor SDS (Sodiumdodecylsulfat). Agar diffusion experiments revealed repeated, concentric zones of inhibition and stimulation upon exposure to Sodiumdodecylsulphate or to Amoxicillin. Temperature, nutrient concentration and inhibitor concentration were controlled. Formation of successively repeated zones of inhibition, stimulation, inhibition and stimulation is discussed: ? The extension of the primary inhibition zone is due to the concentration of applied Sodium dodecyl sulphate.? Immediately outside the primary inhibition zone the bacteria have access to diffusing nutrients that have not been consumed in the primary inhabitation zone.? In zones of dense bacterial growth the bacteria may produce inhibiting substances, affecting growth of bacteria in adjacent zones.? In zones of dense bacterial growth the nutrients will soon become depleted, thus affecting bacteria in adjacent zones..

Ett gott inomhusklimat är viktigt för att prestationsförmågan ska hålla sig på en bra nivå. Små avvikelser i ventilationen kan medföra besvär som till exempel trötthet, huvudvärk och försämrade koncentrationssvårigheter. Elever på V-sektionen vid Chalmers tekniska högskola har upplevt bristande inomhusklimat i framförallt de stora föreläsningssalarna där många föreläsningar hålls för ett stort antal människor. Syftet med detta projekt var att kartlägga i vilket skick inomhusklimatet var i dessa salar och vad det fanns för möjliga åtgärder att vidta för att göra det bättre. För att kartlägga klimatet har det bland annat gjorts mätningar av koldioxidhalt och temperatur under föreläsningstid samtidigt som studiebesök har gjorts för att få fram underlag så som reglerparametrar och driftkort för ventilationssystem.
