Filmmusikens betydelse : En receptionsstudie om hur musik i film bidrar till förståelse

This essay is about film music and how people react in a study where the music and picture comes from two different genres that both has unique conventions, of how the ?standard? music ought to be composed. The purpose of this essay is mainly to try and get an understanding of film music?s importance in the movies dramatic structure, and how people react when the conventions of music is broken and two genres are combined into one.The questions that are to be answered in this essay are: *how could music as a tool change the character of a film? *How does the participants, of this inquire, experience the film depending on what music they hear? *And what is it that the participants think that the music brings to the movies narration?The method of this survey is based on a number of participants that have responded on questions of how they experienced the movie, both with music and without. Gringo - en språklig förnyare men hur? : En genre- och stilanalys av ett nytt samhällsmagasin över kulturgränser

The essay is an effort to examine and define three examples of liminal dance performances through an aesthetic, hermeneutic and semiotic analysis. The examples are three dance or liminal performances, made by three different choreographers and performed at ?Moderna Dansteatern? and ?Dansens Hus? in Stockholm during September and October 2005. In the effort to determine the liminal and cross-over in the performances, the analysis focus on aspects such as: the character of the work, choreography, the use of scenery, stage light, requisites, conception of place and interior room, the use of costume and mask, the use of different media as text, pictures, film, and music or not using any these, and the interaction with the audience. The analysis depends on a historical background and the use of literature in the subject.

The aim of this thesis is to examine possibilities concerning subject access to fiction film, i.e. appropriate ways to describe fiction film for subject retrieval. Problems regarding subject indexing in general, and subject indexing of fiction film in particular, are identified, as well as the uniqueness of fiction film and film genres. Four types of subject aspects are discussed: form and genre, fictitious characters, setting, and general topics. Several guidelines, form- and genre lists, and subject headings lists are examined and treated as potential indexing tools.

The purpose of this paper has been to study and to compare three novels, written by Katarina von Bredow, Syskonkärlek (1991), Som om ingenting (1999) and Som jag vill vara (2007), with focus on the protagonists. The aim was also to map how the novels relate to the contemporary youth novel, the girl book, Chick lit and Chick lit junior. The protagonists were compared on the basis of themes, sow as relationships within the family, boyfriend and friends, as well as identity. The protagonists have in common that the relation with their family members is important. The three protagonists consider that friendship is important.

This Master´s thesis examines the conceptual ideas of science fiction and science fiction fandom produced in the Swedish fanzine Science Fiction Forum (1960-) between the years 1960 and 1980. Science Fiction Forum was and still is a fanzine published by Skandinavisk Förening för Science Fiction (Scandinavian Science Fiction Club). Both the club and the fanzine are a part of the phenomenon called fandom.A fandom is a collective of people called fans who form a community by sharing a special interest in a special object. The fanzine is one of the many material products produced by fans within a certain fandom. Science Fiction Forum and Skandinavisk Förening för Science Fiction were founded in 1959 and are a part of swedish science fiction fandom, where the object of fandom is literary science fiction..The primary focus of this thesis is the meta discussion on science fiction and science fiction fandom in Science Fiction Forum.

I denna text diskuterar jag produktionen av Hearty Horrors, ett spel programmerat och designat helt i flash. Jag diskuterar svårigheterna för de olika delarna i att skapa ett spel. Tankar och jämförelser mellan onda och goda karaktärer och vad man, som speldesigner, bör och inte bör göra för att få spelare att känna sig manade att spela vidare. In this text I discuss the production of Hearty Horrors, a game programmed and designed completly in flash. I discuss the difficulties of diffrent parts in the making of a game.

Vad ska vi spela? En studie om betydelsen av genrebredd i musikundervisning

Title: What shall we play? -A study of the importance of genre spread in music education. The aim of this study is to examine music teachers' and music students' reflections on the importance of genre spread in music education. The study covers music education in municipal primary schools and municipal music schools/schools of arts and music. I have used both quantitative and qualitative methods in my study.

Gitarrövning inom olika genrer : En studie av skillnader på övningssynen mellan klassisk och afroamerikansk tradition

I detta arbete har jag undersökt om det finns några skillnader på gitarrövning inom olika genrer. Jag har försökt hitta en bild av inställningen till övning och tagit reda på om, och i så fall varför det uppstått skillnader mellan klassisk och afroamerikansk tradition. För att få svar på mina frågor har jag intervjuat sex gitarrlärare, tre inom varje genre, som undervisar på olika nivåer. Svaren har varierat en del men jag har fått fram en generaliserad bild med en del skillnader, men också med stora likheter. Attitydskillnader hos de olika genrerna finns inte enligt mina informanter, utan har istället uppstått mycket på grund av media.

Hur främjas läslust?

Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att ta reda på vilka metoder några lärare använder för att främja elevernas läslust, vilka genrer lärarna anser att eleverna bör läsa och vad eleverna faktiskt läser. Jag ville också ta reda på om lärarnas bild av elevernas läsvanor stämde. Jag har intervjuat tre lärare i årskurserna fyra respektive fem samt via enkäter kart­lagt deras 52 elevers läsvanor. Resultatet visade att lärarna använde en mängd olika strategier för att främja läslusten, även om de fokuserade på att hitta rätt bok till varje elev. Precis som lärarna förutsåg var elevernas läsvanor väldigt skiftande, både när man ser på mängden de läser och vilken genre de läser respektive tycker bäst om.

Att vara mållös men målmedveten : Elevers uppfattningar av textskapande i narrativ och beskrivande genre

Elevers möte med skolan innebär ett möte med ett brett innehåll som innefattar en uppsjö av olika sätt att använda språk. Denna variation i språkande har inte alltid visat sig vara tydligt uttalat för eleven. En hel del forskning har riktats mot undersökning av de texter elever möter och de språkliga praktiker som kringligger texterna. När det däremot kommer till elevens uppfattningar av texter har forskningen visat sig vara begränsad; detta gäller i synnerhet skrivande i olika genrer. Syftet med uppsatsen är således att öka förståelse inom området.I studien intervjuades 12 elever i årskurs 5 om deras uppfattningar av skrivande.

Processbarhetsteorin i undervisning : ???Analys av två program som används av andraspråksinlärare

I have with this thesis sought to understand how chick lit could be useful in the classroom in the teaching of Swedish B-course in high school. Based on the model of critical literacy I am arguing that this genre would help to meet the objectives of the policy documents which, among other things, are to critically examine and analyze various types of texts.I have found that some of these texts could be used for analyzing and critically examine the ideological dimensions of texts and cultural heritage by the model of critical literacy, and also as a counterweight to the more traditional teaching of the canonical literature as a literary historical stuff that students should learn. I have also wanted to create a basis for discussions about literature in the classroom based on the chick lit genre. To do this I have, based on three themes and questions from the model of critical literacy, tried to focus on issues that might emerge from the ideological analysis and critical review.
