The aim of this study was to understand how social workers deal with honour-related violence, with special focus on the processing from sheltered housing. Our qualitative interviews with social workers that work with this kind of problems show that there are both obstacles and opportunities in the processing from sheltered housing. On the negative side are the loneliness, the shame and the guilt that the girls may experience when they need to leave their families. The social services can both be an obstacles and an opportunity. When the girls need to create a new life in a new city they have a lot of opportunities and in the same time it is hard to get to know new friends when you don´t know the city or have much money.

Denna studie i socialantropologi är baserad på kvalitativa intervjuer av fyra unga killar med rötter i hederskulturen. Tre av dem är medlemmar i gruppen Sharaf Hjältar och kämpar aktivt mot hedersförtryck. I studien ingår även en fältstudie av Sharaf Hjältars arbete i form av föreläsningar. Fokus ligger på dessa unga killars personliga erfarenheter från sin uppväxt i familjer präglade av hederskulturen, killarnas arbete som Sharaf hjältar och deras erfarenheter i relation till hur andra har det. Det sistnämnda inbegriper så väl invandrare som svenskar, tjejer som killar och närstående/bekanta som för killarna okända individer.

This thesis is based on qualitative text analyses of four works of fiction, used as teaching materials in the school subject of Swedish, from a queer theoretic perspective. The purpose of the study is to examine how sexual identities and expressions are being presented, as well as what positions are offered a reader, in relation to the heterosexual norm. Basis for this thesis are the schools fundamental values, which highlights the importance that intolerance be confronted through both knowledge and active measures, and the syllabus, which states that fiction should be viewed as a tool for identity development as well as an understanding of the outside world.The analyses reveals a distinct connection between the generally accepted heterosexual norm and a professed (or taken for granted) heterosexuality which is being carried out by the characters or the books as a whole. Out of the four titles only one disputes this norm, by offering a wide range of sexual identities and expressions. These expressions, however, are being invalidated ? through insufficient ability to relate to the norm ? or made invisible ? through an imagined heterosexuality which, by superiority over other expressions, excludes them..

Uppsatsen behandlar några personers upplevelser av att ta emot ett särskilt stöd i skolan, i förhållande till samhällets syn på norm och avvikelse från norm. Undersökningens syfte är att ge en vidgad förståelse, från ett inifrånperspektiv, hur det kan upplevas att ta emot särskilt stöd i skolan samt hur dessa personer upplever omgivningens syn på att de tar emot ett särskilt stöd. Fokus har legat på stigmatiserande konsekvenser av att avvika från norm. Forskningsfrågorna är:? Vilka insatser kan bidra till en känsla av utpekande och/eller uteslutning?? Hur uppfattar elever att ha ett särskilt stöd i skolan?? Hur uppfattar elever med särskilt stöd omgivningens reaktioner?För att uppnå undersökningens syfte har jag valt kvalitativa intervjuer som undersökningsmetod.

Hållbar utveckling är ett av de viktigaste ämnena som diskuteras idag. Även när det gäller stadsplanering har hållbarhet blivit en av de viktigaste frågorna att diskutera. I Sverige har vi under de två senaste decennierna sett flera utvecklingsprojekt som präglats av en strävan mot hållbarhet och ekologiska boendemiljöer. Vi frågar oss i denna studie om huruvida utvecklingen av hållbara och ekologiska boendemiljöer kommer att bli en norm i framtiden och hur arbetet mot denna norm bör ske. Vi jämför här två utvecklingsprojekt som har haft stort inflytande på hållbar stadsplanering, Bo01 i Malmö och Hammarby Sjöstad i Stockholm.

A mapping process is ongoing in Sweden concerning a phenomenon known as ?honour related violence?. The explanations of ?honour related violence? often focus on culture and ethnicity, thus establishing differences between the majority society and offenders and victims. Given that some scholars critique mapping for focusing on predetermined objects, my aim is to study discursive conditions for abused girls, who are constructed as being from within ethnic minorities, in relation to their contact with the Swedish welfare system.

The purpose of this study has been to investigate how socialworkers describe their attitudes towards reporting childabuse to the police and if they make different decisions when they believe the violence to be honour related and how they handle these questions. The main questions are; How does socialworkers describe their and their colleagues attitudes towards reporting childabuse to the police and when do they believe they should report? Do they describe honourviolence as a specific kind of violence that should be lifted and in what way does it affect their work? The study is written from a legal sociologist perspective with a qualitative approach. Four socialworkers were interviewed and the interviews were analyzed with an anti-racist theory and with the theory about freedom of action.The conclusions is that the socialworkers mostly report childabuse to the police when the violence is physical. This means that children who describes to be subjected to psychological violence, including honourviolence, has poor legal security.

Over the past few years the Åland islands have attracted growing internationalattention as an example of how to successfully secure the position of a minorityregion, and in the current situation the government of Åland has an intention toextend the efforts of spreading the example of Åland. The purpose of this essay isto shed light on the political discussion about the example of Åland, andinvestigate the underlying political reasons for emphasizing the example of Ålandinternationally. Through interviews with leading politicians on Åland I analyzeÅland as a norm entrepreneur. The research shows that besides altruism, selfinterestis a factor behind emphasizing the example of Åland. The essay showsthat the theory of norm entrepreneurship also can be applied on an autonomousarea, but instead of influencing international organizations themselves, theautonomous area use norm entrepreneurship as a tool for influencing domesticpolitics..

Since the 1990s, when the number of transnational companies increased, it has created challenges regarding the responsibility of human rights. As a response to these challenges the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) unanimously endorsed the new policy UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP) in 2011. UNGP does not have the status av international law, yet simply as guidelines and its implementation is based on good will and voluntary efforts. Now, 10 years later, this study aims to get understanding regarding if UNGP is considered as norm by the Swedish Government, Volvo and Gothenburg Municipality. The material of the study consists of sustainability reports, annual reports and governmental documents with focus on human rights in relation to business published between the year of 2011, when UNGP was endorsed, until 2020.

The purpose of this study is to examine discourses about norms and norm criticism regarding sex/gender and sexuality in preschool teachers? and nursery nurses? speech using a post-structuralist perspective. My two research questions are:How do the educators describe norms in general and norms about sex/gender and sexuality in relation to their work?How do the educators describe their work with norm criticism in relation to norms about sex/gender and sexuality?The theoretical base of this thesis is feminist post-structuralism and queer theory. Qualitative interviews were used as method to gather material and then a form of discourse analysis was made based on the transcribed interviews.

Syftet med studien var att problematisera forskning om träningsberoende, utifrån ett diskursivt norm- och maktperspektiv. Tolv artiklar från forskningsfältet analyserades med Foucault och Baudrillards perspektiv om sociala normer och makt som teoretisk utgångspunkt. Resultaten i studien visade att den mest betydande, dock triviala, normen inom forskningen om träningsberoende var att en hög träningsmängd, vilket varierande från 4 timmar per vecka till daglig träning, ansågs vara skadlig och en signifikant riksfaktor för att utveckla träningsberoende. Denna normen användes också för att utöva makt inifrån den sociala kroppen. Vidare visade resultaten en brist på antagonism och motaktioner mot makten som både normer och diagnostiska modeller har i forskningsfältet.

This paper describes a qualitative study of preschool teachers' beliefs about heteronormativity and its role in preschool. The purpose of this study was to examine preschool teachers' ideas and beliefs about heteronormativity and the ways in which it manifests itself in preschool, and to investigate how they perceive the possibility and the need to work on issues related to heteronormativity in preschool. The study is qualitative and is conducted through interviews with preschool teachers, and analysis of information letters from preschools sent to parents. The analysis of the letters was intended to critically examine how words and language could be linked to the heteronormative and also to determine which subjects was conveyed in these everyday texts. The study is based on queer theory and social constructivism.

In this essay I examine how the norm-critical material ?BRYT! ett metodmaterial om normer i allmänhet och heteronormen i synnerhet? is used by Hyresgästföreningen in Stockholm in their education of personnel in the perspective of equalisation. I?ve mostly been interested in how the personnel who takes part in workshops about the material react and reflect in relation to the purpose of the material. How do they discuss about norms and the connection to discrimination and how do they look upon the power and responsibility that comes with power in relation to norms?  Earlier research in norm critical pedagogy and the critic of tolerans pedagogy perspective helps me to analyse how critical pedagogy stands above non-critical pedagogy in many perspectives.By observing workshops and by interviewing personnels taking part in these workshops I?ve examined how they react on both the practical and theoretical parts of the material.To summarise my examination I find the personnel who is educated in working with the material discover new experiences in knowledge and on how norms and discrimination functions.

Syftet med vårt arbete har varit att, genom kvalitativa intervjuer och observationer, försöka synliggöra två lärares språksyn och eventuella skillnader mellan deras upplevda och faktiska norm. Vi har också velat undersöka hur deras språksyn genomsyrar deras undervisning i svenska. Undersökningen har genomförts i två klasser på en mångkulturell skola i en större stad i södra Sverige. Vårt resultat visar att lärarna arbetar utifrån normerna för det offentliga språket där de förhåller sig till en kommunikationsteknisk/ändamålsenlig språknormering och ser på språket som ett ändamålsenligt redskap. Resultatet pekar även på att lärarnas upplevda och faktiska norm väl överensstämmer. Lärarna har en till största delen formalistisk språksyn som får genomslag i undervisningen men vi kan också finna flera inslag av en kommunikativ språksyn..

This study has dealt with a phenomena that is regarded as new in the Swedish context of social work called honour related violence because of sexual orientation. The purpose was to critically examine a project that offers a variation of assistance for individuals between 13 and 25 years of age who suffers from the above. The project mentioned is run by an organisation called RFSL Rådgivningen Skåne. The aim was to examine the practice and to gain knowledge concerning the target group and relate it to that described by the project. Another aim for the study was to look into how the employees and the author of a report that is commonly used as background material in the practice used the complicated terms involved in the field and how that may effect the individuals that are the target for the resources.
