In recent years coaching has become an increasingly popular phenomenon outside of the sports world. More and more people have found coaching to be a helpful tool for achieving greater performance and fulfillment in their lives. This thesis is a comparative literature study of three books about coaching where the authors use different theoretical bases to explain and teach coaching. The aim of the thesis is to explain how coaching as a phenomenon is described and compare these descriptions as well as to look at the ideals and norms that are produced and reproduced in the use of coaching. The study compares the three books from six different themes and shows that, in the use of coaching, the ideal of a rational and action oriented individual is constructed and the aim for this individual is some form of success.

Tidigare studier har visat att domesticerade höns påvisar en lägre nivå av rädsla jämfört med förfadern, de röda djungelhönsen. I denna studie testades 18 domesticerade White Leghorn (WL) och 18 röda djungelhöns (RJF). Målet med studien var att studera återhämtningen för de båda raserna vid en standardiserad stressupplevelse. Försöket gick ut på att hönsen vistades i enskilda burar och blev efter ett dygn utsatta av en akut stress. Därefter startades observationerna omedelbart för att se när hönsen återhämtade sig och återigen började visa naturliga beteenden.

Sweden is usually seen as a role model when it comes to integration and diversity, but at the top of the pyramid there is little ethnical diversity to be found. This paper investigates how existing economical and sociological theory explain the lack of swedes with foreign background in leading positions in large Swedish companies. Our findings show that none of the theories applied in this paper can explain the phenomenon in isolation. Thus it is not only taken for granted norms, contacts in one's network or cost minimizing under asymmetric information that lie behind the phenomenon, but an interaction of these aspects. Conflicting demands lead the recruiters to separate talk from decision, the search frame is narrow and no or small efforts are made to increase the diversity.

ABORT ?n GO is a design project within the crossing boundaries of Critical Design and IndustrialDesign.The contemporary discourse on abortion is problematic, and infected by double norms. Thesenorms may cause feelings of guilt and shame in women who have an abortion. The abortion rightis built upon conflicting standpoints; one is that women have right to have an abortion, withoutbeing questioned. Second is the notion that abortion is something that should be avoided, implyingthat you?ve done something wrong if you have had an abortion.With this project and physical product I want to explore and discuss the contemporary discourseon abortion in Sweden.

Can the need for inclusion result in certain social norms remain unchallenged, and over time become hard to identify? To ?fit in? and be accepted in different social contexts we have to behave according to the dominating rules and conventions. We accept characteristics and make use of attributes specific for the group we want to be a part of. When we accept these attributes we contribute to keep the concept of them alive. SAMMANFATTNING Artros och skador i ledbrosk är vanliga problem hos både människor och djur, som orsakar stora fysiska besvär i form av smärta och nedsatt rörelseförmåga. Idag finns ett flertal olika behandlingsmetoder mot artros, men ännu finns ingen bra behandlingsmetod för att åstadkomma läkning av ett skadat ledbrosk. I den här studien användes kanin som modelldjur för att utvärdera en ny behandling mot artros på människa. Målet var att stimulera nybildning av ledbrosk via rekrytering av mesenkymala stamceller. Studien utfördes på 20 kaniner av rasen New Zeeland White, 6-7 månader gamla honor med en kroppsvikt på ca 4 kg. En ledskada skapades med borr på den mediala femurkondylen i kaninernas vänstra knäled under anestesi. Därefter injicerades en hyaluronsyragel enbart eller tillsammans med tillväxtfaktorn bone morphogenic protein-2 (BMP-2) i leden.

The illness Anorexia contradicts the norms of society since eating is a fundamental need, and to refrain from this is therefore a major discrepancy. It is the impression management among anorectics we have chosen to put our emphasis on in this survey in which about ten people have been interviewed with a qualitative method.

The purpose of this quantitative study was to examine the relation between sporting events, where alcohol is served, and the attitude towards alcohol among adolescents. We conducted a survey with 195 respondents, all of whom was students of Swedish upper secondary school. The respondents were between 15 and 18 years of age. The data were analyzed using theories of attitudes and norms. We also analyzed the data using previous research.
