The aim of this qualitative study was to explore which inner conceptions about the abused older women the professional social workers had and how they experienced the enconter of an abused old woman in an intimate partner relation. The theoretical background is social construction by Berger and Luckmann. This theory was uset to analyze the transcribed interviews. This study is based on nine interviews with five professionals in social services, three volunteers from the voluntary sector and one social worker who worked in a community based support group for abused older women. The result of this study shows that older women were often abused, by a relative they were dependent on, in their home.

The purpose of this study is to stress what experiences men working in the earlier school years share about being a minority group and what thoughts they have about why other men tend to avoid this profession.In this survey I have interviewed four male teachers in the earlier school years. In previous research it is claimed that men choose not to get a teacher training for the earlier school years partly because this profession is known to be dominated by women where it is difficult for men to feel at home. It is also claimed that teachers in training choose the later school years in order to focus more on teaching than looking after the children. None of the interviewed men sees it as a problem being a minority group, neither during training nor in teaching. What the men in this survey state as the main reasons for why other men do not choose to become teachers are the low levels of status and salary.

IntroduktionUndernäring är ett stort problem hos äldre personer, som bor inom särskilt äldreboende(SÄBO), trots att detta går att förebygga, om man ha en välgenomtänkt individuell anpassadnutritionsplan för varje person. Det saknas kunskap om längden på nattfastan, undernäringoch hälsorelaterad livskvalitet hos äldre. Med nattfastans längd menas tiden mellan sistamatintag på kvällen/natten och första matintag på morgonen.SyfteSyftet med studien var att kartlägga nattfastans längd, undernäring och hälsorelateradlivskvalitet hos en grupp äldre på ett särskilt äldreboende.MetodUndersökningen var en pilotstudie, som utfördes på en somatisk avdelning på ett SÄBO.Sammanlagt 31 äldre personer, 23 kvinnor och 8 män med en åldersvariation mellan 68-100år och en medelålder på 87 år inkluderades i studien. BMI, MNA-SF och nattfastans längdberäknades för att kartlägga deltagarnas nutritionsstatus. Hälsorelaterad livskvalitetberäknades med hjälp av hälsoenkäten EQ-5D.

Today there is a keen competition between regions in the world for companies and inhabitants in order to improve regional development and economic growth. In many regions there is an active effort to create a good home base for companies and inhabitants. Since 2003 municipalities in nine counties in Sweden have come together in co-operative agencies in order to work towards more efficient regional development.This essay focuses on the relation between the state and the co-operative agencies in the regional development policy and which possibilities the state gives the co-operative agencies to pursue an efficient regional development policy, both legally and financially. I have researched and analysed this through models and ideas on how the state governs the administration and through the translation theory. The result of my study is that the co-operative agencies have a relatively large amount of freedom to make there own priorities, but the ability to act efficiently within regional development is limited..

Den sociala och fysiska miljö som omger måltiden är av stor betydelse för den äldre patienten. Syftet med studien var att beskriva äldre patienters måltidsmiljö och dess effekter ur ett omvårdnadsperspektiv. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie. Litteratursökningen har skett i databaserna CINAHL och Medline. Efter urval och granskning återstod 12 artiklar som var publicerade mellan åren 1994-2005, åtta kvalitativa och fyra kvantitativa artiklar.

Många äldre lider av långvarig smärta och får inte alltid den hjälp de behöver. Ökad kunskap inom området behövs då antalet äldre kommer att öka. Att utvärdera och lindra smärta hos äldre utgör en viktig del av sjuksköterskans ansvarsområde. Genomförd studie syftar till att undersöka vilka kunskaper som finns om utvärdering och lindring av smärta riktad till äldre boende i kommunen. Genom litteraturöversikt av både kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar redovisas resultatet i fyra teman: sjuksköterskans utvärdering av smärta, vårdtagarens utvärdering av smärta, sjuksköterskans lindring av smärta och vårdtagarens lindring av smärta.

This study aims to research how small companies that operate on the Swedish home electronic-market utilize marketing communications to communicate their message. The focus of this study has been to research these companies use of below-the-line activities in their marketing communications. Interviews have been conducted with representatives from each of the three companies Neonode, Jens of Sweden and Tonium, that compose the selection from the population in this study. The use of below-the-line activities in small companies is mainly motivated by lower cost, which suit small company budgets. Below-the-line activities are also used for branding and the creation of credibility among the consumers when the target audience does not yet know the brand.

The purpose was to study what significance communication has for the psychosocial health of elderly deaf people who live in old peoples homes. I also explored how communication works between the staff.- How do the staff feel the communication works between members of the staff and between the staff and the residents?- How do the staffs think that the staffs' knowledge of the culture of the deaf community and sign language affects the psychological health of the residents?- What changes have the staff noticed in the residents since they moved to the ward?In order to accomplish study this area I have used semi-structured qualitative interviews and observations.The main conclusion of this paper was that the possibility to communicate in ones own language was fundamental for the psychosocial health of the residents. The people I interviewed expressed that communication between the residents and the staff worked well, but communication was a problem between the staff members. Knowledge of the culture of the deaf and sign language, within the staff, had a positive influence on the psychosocial health of the residents.

AbstractWhen I, at the age of 20, started working in home care service, I had an idea of what it means to age, a view witch I quickly realized was not true at all. The essay begins with a search for the images of aging you come in contact with, when you do not have a deeper interest in the matter.I take a closer look at how aging is described and how the concepts of aging and dignity are often interconnected, and debate about which images of aging that is outdated and where from they originated.I also show that that image is in for a change, much is happening right now, and there are many like me, who want to change and broaden the view of what aging can mean.Finally I describe my sculptures ?Beatrice? and ?Rosmari?, and reflect on how they relate to the image of what old age looks like.As a sculptor, I want to create an alternative to a widespread image of old people as a problem or idealization of the olf lady as a kind, cute and cookiebaking creature, as well as an alternative to the traditional sculpture tradition, that often show men in positions of power, and sweet passive women/girls.I tell of the strong, stubborn, eccentric and absolutely ordinary lady.

This project investigates how four teachers work to encourage their pupils? love of reading. The study was conducted with the focus on teachers working in grades 1?3. The teacher?s view of their own role in furthering love of reading is also considered.It is hoped that other teachers will gain inspiration and ideas about how to work to motivate their pupils to read.To ascertain the four teachers? opinions and thoughts I conducted qualitative interviews which I then analysed with the help of sentence concentration.The study shows that the teachers work in similar ways, but what they all have in common is that they further love of reading through methods that include conversation and communication with classmates and teacher.

Syfte: Syftet är att utifrån ett omvårdnadsperspektiv undersöka hur utvecklingen av syndromet sarkopeni på ett effektivt sätt kan förebyggas. Metod: Systematisk litteraturstudie där originalartiklar söktes i databaserna PubMed och Cinahl varav 15 originalartiklar granskades och sammanställdes. Resultat: Omvårdnadsåtgärder som förebygger sarkopeni indelas i nutrition, styrketräning, vibrationsträning, och övrig fysisk aktivitet. Styrketräning kan med medelhög intensitet och proteinrik kost minska fettmassan, öka muskelmassan och muskelstyrkan och öka den fysiska funktionen. Fysisk aktivitet och ett stort proteinintag kan inte förhindra men bromsa utvecklingen av sarkopeni. Ett högt proteinintag i samband med träning är ett effektivt sätt att förebygga sarkopeni. Vibrationsträning kan stärka muskelgrupper och i kombination med styrketräning även öka muskelstyrka, rörlighet och muskelmassa. Slutsats: Fysisk aktivitet och då framför allt styrketräning kan motverka sarkopeni.

Universitetsstudenter har ofta ett riskabelt alkoholbeteende ochupplever depressiva symtom under studietiden, vilket kan ha svårakonsekvenser. Förklaringarna till alkoholkonsumtion blanduniversitetsstudenter har ofta fokuserat på studenters motivation tillsocialisering med andra studenter. Litteraturen har också fokuserat påförstaårsstudenters övergångsfas i förklaringarna till depression.Denna studie involverade 117 universitetsstudenter i ett medelstortsvenskt universitet. Studiens huvudsyfte var att undersöka omstudenter som bytte ort för att studera dricker mer alkohol ochupplever flera depressiva symtom än studenter som studerar i sinhemort. Resultatet visar på en betydande skillnad i alkoholkonsumtionmellan de två grupperna, vilket tyder på ett samband mellan flyttenfrån hemorten och alkoholkonsumtion..

AbstractThe aim of this thesis is to investigate how the Swedish political parties have been discussing gender politics since 1970 to nowadays, in order to see which problems and solutions that have been suggested by the parties to increase the representation of women and the equality between the sexes. The theoretical framework is constructed by theories of women´s representation, gender politics and women?s interest.To describe how the discussions about gender politics have been between the different parties, the methodological foundation consists of an ideology critical textual analysis of the political programs from the Swedish parties.The analysis confirms that the discussions about gender politics and the political representation of women increase over time. The most important issue of equality is the lack of women´s rights and possibilities in the labor market as a consequence of women´s responsibility of home and childcare. The analysis also shows that parties which discuss women as a category and the underrepresentation of women also point out the importance to increase equality between men and women..

The study examines the meaning of having a dog in the workplace of personnel who work with therapy. The purpose was to examine the personnel?s view of dogs in their work envi-ronment. The study uses two theories. One is ?psychosocial work environment? and the other theory used is ?symbolic interactionism?.

Mitt syfte med denna uppsats är att få djupare kunskap i vad tvåspråkiga klasser innebär och vilken uppfattning pedagogerna som arbetar i en tvåspråkig klass har angående deras arbetsätt. Jag har tittat närmare på två mångkulturella skolor som arbetar tvåspråkigt. Jag har använt mig av kvalitativa intervjuer med pedagoger för att få en bredare kunskap om hur undervisningen genomförs och för att få en uppfattning om vad pedagogerna har för syn och erfarenheter kring tvåspråkiga klasser. Jag har intervjuat fyra pedagoger som har stor erfarenhet av att jobba med andraspråkselever då de har arbetat på mångkulturella skolor i flera år. Resultaten av mina intervjuer blev relativt lika då lärarna anser att modersmålet har stor betydelse för barnets andraspråksutveckling.
