Narrative history has a long tradition in history teaching. But during the decades after the second world war, the attitude to storytelling has been seen with doubt and skepticism. There are many indications in Swedish society and media that the narrative story today stand strong. But is narrative history useful in everyday teaching? This essay is a study of narrative history in a Swedish and Scandinavian perspective the latest thirty years.

Syftet med arbetet är att presentera en handlingsplan för lärare som vill använda sig av studieteknik i historieundervisningen. Genom att sammanväva teorier om inlärning, utveckling, studieteknik, historiemedvetande, identitet, lärobokstexter, minnet och hjärnan presenteras dels en förberedande handlingsplan dels en utförande handlingsplan. I den förberedande handlingsplanen är målet att eleverna skall bli effektiva i sitt användande av studieteknik. Detta för att eleverna sedan genom den utförande handlingsplanen skall kunna utnyttja studieteknik för att öka sin inlärning och förståelse i ämnet historia..

I denna undersökning ämnar vi ta reda på hur progressionen ser ut gällande framställningen av kvinnor i historieläromedel från 1960-talet till år 2007. Vi har fokuserat kring dem som oftast marginaliserats i innehållet till fördel för de politiska aktiva så som drottningar och andra politiker. Här är det istället bondhustrur, den hemarbetande kvinnan, sömmerskor, hantverkare och andra yrkesarbetande kvinnor som undersöks för att ta reda på om de har en större plats i dag jämfört med på 1960-talet. Vi vill också ta reda på vilket sätt de framställs och har framställts. Är de aktiva och driver handlingen framåt eller ett bihang till den politiska historien? Value-at-Risk (VaR) is among financial institutions a commonly used tool for measuring market risk. Several methods to calculate VaR exists and different implementations often results in different VaR forecasts. An interesting implementation is historical simulation, and the purpose of this thesis is to examine whether historical simulation with dynamic volatility updating is useful as a model to calculate VaR and how this differs in regard to type of asset or instrument. To carry out the investigation six different models are implemented, which then are tested for statistical accuracy through Christoffersens test. We find that incorporation of volatility updating into the historical simulation method in many cases improves the model.

In this thesis I examine how the phenomenological philosophy of Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger differ with regard to the phenomenological reduction, and in particular why there is no reduction in Sein und Zeit. I examine in what way philosophy is seen as an overcoming of the naïvete of a ?natural? attitude and how this natural attitude is understood, starting with Husserl?s descriptions of the phenomenological reduction, of the natural attitude of our daily lives and of his notion of transcendental subjectivity. By presenting these main aspects, I try to elucidate why, in Husserl?s view, laying the foundation of all knowledge must take form of a phenomenological first philosophy.

This study examines how upper secondary school teachers in Västerbotten and Österbotten plan to teach about the Finnish War 1808-09. The study includes written interviews with nine teachers in Västerbotten and eight teachers in Österbotten, who have answered questions concerning school policy documents, content and didactic methods. The purpose has been to examine whether there is a difference in historical culture in how the war is treated in the two regions. Historical culture is here meant within the prospective history lesson, where the pupils encounter history within certain boundaries.The result of the interview study shows that there are differences in structure concerning the school policy documents, but that these differences on the whole are compensated by the widespread interest in the Finnish War by the teachers in both regions. The differences in historical culture can be found within the construction of the content when it comes to the aftermaths of the war as well as the purpose of the teaching.

SammanfattningHuvudsyftet med detta arbete är att få en inblick i hur två skilda förortsskolor med helt olika elevsammansättning i Malmö använder sig av närområdet (lokalhistoria) i historieundervisningen. Vilka olikheter finns mellan dessa två skolor? Vilka är skillnaderna och om det finns skillnader, vad beror detta i så fall på? Jag har även velat få kunskap om hur elevernas intresse för historia/lokalhistoria ser ut. Vilka för- och nackdelar det finns med att använda sig av lokalhistoria? Den ena skolan är belägen i Malmös södra del i stadsdelen Hyllie.

Aspects as the relationship between the body and soul/consciousness, body snatching, memory transferences and dystopian cities are analyzed. The field of study is compared to a general science-fiction film perspective regarding the aspects. Dark City contains an alien race with a common mind, but who lacks soul and individuality. They represent what humanity can become if the scientific development goes too far.

Spelfilmens roll som historieförmedlare har ökat under de senaste åren. Idag fungerar spelfilm med historiska motiv som historieförmedlare för många människor, inte minst ungdomar. I många fall används spelfilmen i underhållningssyfte. En stor anledning till att jag gör denna undersökning är för att se närmare på hur läraren kan arbeta med spelfilmen i historieundervisningen utöver ett rent underhållningssyfte.

This essay is an attempt to portray and explain my work as a dance pedagogue as well as an epistemological overview of the skills and knowledge I use when I teach. The study is phenomenologically oriented and the examples used are from the years when I was teaching at the University College of Dance in Stockholm. The primary objective of the study was to illustrate the practical knowledge of my teaching by examining what lies in the mind and gaze of the dance pedagogue while teaching.Having finished my essay I realize that it has come to be primarily about the body. How the knowledge that is imprinted in my body can only be conveyed when I have a student to teach and how I feel that the intermediary of knowledge occurs. Other recurrent themes are the relations of thought and consciousness to the body.
