This study deals with the Adventure Comic Prince Valiant, written and designed by the Canadian artist Harold R. Foster. Focus is on the first two years of publication 1937-1938, where the hero is pictured in his Adolescence. This gives the title of the study: Youth. Earlier writings in the USA on this topic, have concentrated on the artist and less on analyses of the comic itself.

This to be able to deliver the increased number of systems that the customers request. To be able to produce more units the takt time of the assembly line needs to be shortened. This could only be done by identifying and solving recurring problems. To be able to find the problems, create a common knowledge of which these are and eliminate them the production department of Sectra Mamea needs to visualize certainKey Performance Indicators (KPI) in the organization.

Jag har som examensarbete på master-nivå formgivit en sittmöbel med utgångspunkt från min uppväxt i Dalarna. Målet har varit att göra en filosofisk tolkning av mina minnen samt en hyllning till regionen, i synnerhet Borlänge där jag växt upp.Jag har under projektets gång gjort en resa både på ett mentalt och rent fysiskt plan tillbaka till den plats jag växt upp för att utforska mina minnen och därigenom skapa en plattform för mitt designarbete.För att nå mitt resultat har jag använt mig av designmetoder som ITK, intervjuer, skisser, studiebesök, materialtester, mockups samt modelleringsverktyget Rhino.Resultatet är en stol inspirerad av saker som bland annat Ornäs stugan och musikkulturen i Borlänge. Stolen består av en metallkonstruktion, trädetaljer vid fötterna samt armstöden och en sits i läder.For my thesis work on postgraduate level, I have designed a chair based on my upbringing in Dalarna. The goal has been to make a philosophical interpretation of my memories and a tribute to the region, particularly Borlänge where I grew up.During the project I have made a trip both on a mental and physical level back to the place where I grew up to discover my memories and thereby creating a platform for my design work.In order to achieve my result, I have used design methods such as ITK, interviews, sketches, field trips, materials testing, mockups and the modeling tool Rhino.The result is a chair inspired by things like Ornässtugan and the music culture in Borlänge. This paper examines how the ideal of manhood is portrayed and constructed and how the participation of Swedish soldier volunteers are motivated and legitimatized. The purpose of this examination is to gain understanding and knowledge about the Swedish soldiers in the Swedish brigade, how they legitimatize and motivate their participation and how the ideal of manhood is portrayed and constructed. The study is based on material from the war archive in Stockholm. The empirical material is composed by letters and propaganda material. In the analysis of the empirical study, there have been two theories used which are Eric Hobsbawms historical method and theory about invented traditions and Peter Aronssons historical method and theory about ?historiebruk? and legitimacy.

Purpose: In order to curb the prevalence of undeclared work and to improve competi-tion within the building and construction business, reversed charge audit will from July 1, 2007 onwards be applied within the building sector. The new rules entail a consider-able amount of delimiting problems as regards both businesses and services.The aim of this essay is to study the rules as well as direct the light upon various consequen-tial delimiting problems. Furthermore, we will investigate what the effects are on the busi-nesses, as well as their view regarding this. Apart from this, we will also investigate who will benefit and who will be disfavourably affected, respectively, by the new lawMethod: The investigation has been conducted with a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Firstly, an opinion poll was carried out, directed towards Swedish construction companies, and this was then deepened using three interviews.Result & Conclusions: The essay demonstrates that the new rules have entailed more work to a varying degree for the companies.

Social work is a profession where documentation about people?s behavior and life circumstances is common. In the beginning of the essay we ask ourselves, if these descriptions about people can be problematic? To explore this, we studied social documentation, from the past. We used a historical source because history can help usunderstand the social work that is being conducted today.

Syftet med detta arbete är att öka insikten i hur fördelningen mellan hantverk och uttryck ser ut på trumsetslektioner inom genrerna rock/pop/jazz och hur olika lärare arbetar kring/med begreppen personligt uttryck och hantverk. Jag har intervjuat fyra pedagoger ? tre från musikskolan och en från gymnasiet ? och använt mig av kvalitativ intervju som metod. Följande forskningsfrågor ligger som grund för arbetet: Finns det en tydlig uppdelning mellan moment som fokuserar på hantverk och personligt uttryck under trumsetslektioner på gymnasieskolan och kulturskolan - och i så fall, hur ser fördelningen mellan dessa inslag ut? Hur hanterar trumsetslärare dessa två begrepp i sin undervisning? Resultatet visar att samtliga informanter inkluderar moment som kretsar kring både hantverk och personligt uttryck i trumsetsundervisningen.

The physical encounter with a city is represented by the experience of the road and its surroundings, while the spiritual encounter is represented by the idea of the city that we already have, or will get, in our minds. We have in this degree project approached Boden through a thoroughly analysis of both the entrance roads and the city itself. In this degree project we are looking for ways of how to create characteristic and interesting entrance roads to a city, with Boden as an example. This demands knowledge about the problems involving entrance roads as well as the distinctive features of the city.

Nearly 50 years after the building of the first million programme neighbourhoods many Swedish municipalities faces an extensive restoration work in these neighbourhoods which during their relatively short lifetime have acted as a target for a large amount of criticism. Öster in Gävle is a million programme neighbourhood that has gone through an extensive restoration between 2001-2009 with the aim of improving the living environment. Improvements have been made in the outdoor environment, to the facades of the houses and the entrances? of each building. The purpose of this study has been to investigate the effects of the renewal in the physical outdoor environment for those who live in the neighbourhood.

Byggbranschen är inne i en övergångsfas mellan 2D och 3D. BIM, som arbetsmetod, och 3D-modeller blir allt vanligare. I broprojekt är dock efterfrågan på dessa modeller låg. På WSP i Stockholm används 3D-modelleringprogrammet Tekla Structures i stor utsträckning på flera avdelningar. Önskemål finns om att utöka användningen av programmet även inom broprojektering.

Målet med detta arbete är att undersöka och analysera en byggnad från miljonprogrammet i Helsingborg göra gällande energiberäkningar. Dessa beräkningar ska mynna ut i olika förslag till hur man skulle kunna styra upp en renovering av dessa byggnader så att de uppfyller de nya energikraven samt skapa en mer tilltalande estetisk byggnad..

This report has Värnamo municipality as principal and shall clarify what the estate owner in general and Värnamo municipality in particular need to know about this law. Another part that is going to be dealt with is how large the future need for energy experts in this field will be, and which competence that will be demanded for them.The work will in general deal with simplified energy declarations for apartment houses and public buildings, since these buildings are the first to be involved with energy declarations.The energy declaration will consist of a number of important components.? Energy power i.e. how much energy the building consume? If the ventilation control is done? If the radon measurement is carried out? Recommendations of measures to improve the energy power? Reference value to compare the buildings energy power againstAccording to the law the declaration shall been made by an independent expert, which will need certain information for this.

This study examines whether or not there are inherit flaws in Swedish legislation concerning psychiatric institutional care, or in the application of the act, which might lead to the failure of rule of law for the private citizen. Law (1991:1128) concerning psychiatric institutional care in certain instances (LPIC) aims to establish rules which will ensure rule of law for the mentally ill in case of psychiatric institutional care. Despite this, there are legal cases which indicate that these rules, and their implications, are not always considered at the psychiatric wards.The questions at issues which this study aims to answer are thus: Are there any deficiencies concerning rule of law in LPIC 2?3 §§, 4?6 §§, 7?10 §§,15?25 §§ and 32?33 §§ ? This section focuses on LPIC and its design. Whether or not the act adheres to rule of law is examined through a definition which has evolved through discussions of concept based in Peczeniks definition of rule of law.
