The highly toxic man-made substance referred to as dioxin (polychlorinated dibenzo-para-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs)) causes severe health damages both to humans and other organisms, with lethality as its worst. Because of the toxicity several risk assessments has been performed on dioxins trying to determine at what concentration there are no risk of exposure. Resent years of research has discovered that these substances are not only anthropogenically but also producedin natural processes, like volcanoes and forest fires. To investigate if there is a need to take these naturally formed dioxins into account in the risk assessment processes, interviews with persons at relevant institutions in Sweden has been made. Analyses of existing risk assessment methods and political documents were also made to complete the picture.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine how to build a personal brand and how to use this brand. The method used was a case study with personal interviews. The persons who were interviewed was Jan Carlzon and Peter Wallenberg Jr, two of the most important persons in the Swedish business industry. The study has shown that the person as a brand creates benefits and can gain opportunities if used in the right way..

Bakgrund: Då en anhörig insjuknar drabbas makan eller maken av sorg och en känsla av maktlöshet. Att kunna vårda och hjälpa sina nära och kära ger ofta känslan av välbefinnande men som anhörigvårdare är det lätt att ta på sig fler roller samtidigt. Problemformulering: Hur upplever anhöriga till personer med Alzheimers sjukdom att det är att leva med och vårda en anhörig i hemmet? Syfte: Syftet är att beskriva anhörigas upplevelse av att leva med och vårda en person med Alzheimers sjukdom i hemmet. Metod: Studien utfördes som en systematisk litteraturstudie.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to investigate the female reader of science fiction literature, a genre by tradition dominated by men. Through qualitative interviews with seven female science fiction readers, the relation between the reading and the readers? lives, as well as their concepts of the science fiction genre and the community of science fiction readers, was examined. The main theoretical framework used for the analysis was Yvonne Hirdman?s gender theory, Judith Butler?s concept of identity and Louise M.

This report is a result of a first survey of Halland?s gravel pits as an assignment from the County Administrative Board of Halland. The focus has been on Apalus bimaculatus, since the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency are creating a restoration program as it is red listed as Near Threatened. The purpose was also to get an overview of the pits since the County Administrative Board wants to continue this project. Apalus bimaculatus is easy to overlook since it is a short-lived beetle and it lives early in the spring.

Sammanfattning Syftet med studien var att beskriva anhörigas upplevelser av att leva tillsammans med eller i närheten av en person som har drabbats av Alzheimers sjukdom. Studien utgick från ett socialt, fysiskt och psykiskt perspektiv. Studien byggde på 18 vetenskapliga artiklar som kvalitet granskades med hjälp av en granskningsmall. Artiklar söktes genom databaserna Academic Search Elite, Cinahl och Vård I Norden Online. Urvalskriterierna var att artiklarna svarade på studiens syfte, var skrivna på svenska eller engelska och publicerade mellan åren 2000 till 2008.

The Swedish school system?s curriculum states that some of the schools goals are to; help to develop pupils? sense of belonging, solidarity and responsibility for people outside the restricted group, combat discrimination and degrading treatment of individuals or groups and to show respect for individuals. (Lgr 11). Eriksson and other authors in School ? an arena for bullying (2002) refer to the professor and psychologist Dan Olweus, who points out that bullying can develop serious consequences for the bullied one.

A recent development in the field of accounting has been an increasing use of fair values in financial reporting. In 2005, this development was reinforced in Sweden by the adoption of the International Financial Reporting Standards. The aim of this thesis is to discuss the problems related to the use of fair values, through a case study of the Swedish investment bank Carnegie. In May 2007, Carnegie announced that the result had been overly stated by 630 MSEK, due to the valuation of derivatives within the trading department. The empirical material consists of documents produced in the legal process between Carnegie and the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.

Bakgrund: Hiv är en virussjukdom, vilken utan eller misskött behandling kan utvecklas till följdsjukdomen aids. Vid sjukdomens uppkomst cirkulerade okunskap kring smittan vilket påverkade patienter med hiv och aids på flertalet sätt. Idag är sjukdomen globalt utbredd, och ett stort befolkningsantal är drabbade, vilket talar för vikten att bidra till en ökad kunskap och medvetenhet kring sjukdomen. Att sprida denna kunskap är något som sjuksköterskan kan göra i sin del att arbeta hälsofrämjande för samhället. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa hur patienter med hiv och aids upplever sjuksköterskors och övrig sjukvårdspersonals bemötande.

Denna uppsats handlar om personlighetstest som urvalsmetod vid rekrytering, mer specifikt studeras testet Person Profil Analys. Syftet är att få djupare förståelse för varför detta test, trots en omfattande kritik, är ett av Sveriges mest använda. Vi har valt att undersöka testet i en specifik organisation, för att på så sätt uppnå en så detaljerad datainsamling och djupgående analys som möjligt. Organisationen vi studerat är ett av Sveriges landsting, som använder Person Profil Analys vid chefsrekrytering. Vi har genomfört kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra personer som tillämpar testet vid rekrytering, i ambitionen att få förståelse för varför landstinget har valt att använda Person Profil Analys.

Since January 1 2005 all companies listed on a regulated stock exchange within the EU are required to present their consolidated accounts in conformity with IFRS. Among many other consequences goodwill will no longer be amortized over its useful life but instead annually tested for impairments in accordance with IFRS 3. The aim of this paper is to scrutinize the impairment test of goodwill as outlined in IAS 36 and analyze its implications. We conclude that the impairment test will probably lead to the recognition of internally generated goodwill in the consolidated accounts. We also conclude that the impairment test on highly aggregated levels will probably hasten the pace of this recognition since internally generated goodwill is used to shield acquired goodwill from impairments.

Because of the large supply of information is today's leisure travelers very enlightened and have firsthand knowledge of what can be demanded on a hotel stay. Along with business travelers, who are not price sensitive, they place higher demands on the standards and service they require. It has become increasingly important to attract the visitors in a unique way.The purpose of this study is to reveal those aspects which hotels focus on in their business in order to keep their guests, despite the strong competition and the new demands of the changing hotel industry. The study has examined more closely if the hotels have specific concepts in their approach, if their servicescapes (the environment where the service is assembled) are designed in a unique way to attract visitors and if the hotels have special relationships with their guests.The study is qualitative and in order to answer the purpose has observations of the selected hotels and interviews with managers and receptionists been made.One of the conclusions that we reached is that the most important aspect in the hotels business is their relationship to the guests. Each respective hotel strives to have a special and unique relationship with its guests conveyed by its staff.

This study is based on interviews with four managers in public elderly care and four managers in private elderly care. The aim of this paper is to examine how these managers are experiencing their leadership in relation to conflict management, and if the managers leadership differs depending on private or public elderly care. Leadership and conflict management are theories that have been used in order to analyze the empirical findings. Previous research that has been used in the study concerns ?leadership/leadership styles?, ?conflict management?, ?to be active in the private/public elderly care?.

Da? partnern till en person med prostatacancer har en stor roll i omva?rdnaden av sin familjemedlem, a?r det viktigt att belysa a?ven partnerns upplevelser. Partnern bo?r inkluderas i den personcentrerade omva?rdnaden eftersom oha?lsa och sjukdom sa?llan a?r na?got som pa?verkar endast den sjuka individen, utan a?ven partnern.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att belysa partnerns upplevelse av att leva med en man med prostatacancer.

Syftet med studien var att studera om attraktiviteten hos en person kan påverka graden av hur moraliskt förkastlig en handling som utförs av personen bedöms vara och huruvida det föreligger någon könsskillnad. Med ett experiment undersöktes 151 studenter på ett medelstort universitet i södra Sverige. Deltagarna tilldelades ett fiktivt moraliskt scenario med ett bifogat foto av antingen en oattraktiv eller en attraktiv person. En kontrollgrupp blev tilldelade samma scenario men utan något foto. Därefter fick deltagarna svara på hur moraliskt förkastlig de upplevde handlingen som beskrevs i scenariot och hur attraktiv de upplevde personen på fotot vara.
