Introduction: Dental health globally is not equally distributed as shown by caries prevalence is higher in areas with more immigration outside Scandinavia and Western Europe and areas with lower socioeconomic status. To reduce the health inequalities in Borås, a dental health project was made in five kindergartens in the district Hässleholmen. Purpose: The purpose of the survey was, by interviews with the actors involved (teachers, children, parents and the public dental service) find out the views of the project, and whether the project is relevant and should continue. Method: The method used was qualitative interviews with the actors involved in dental health project. A total of 21 interviews were then consolidated by a qualitative content analysis.

One must consider cost effectiveness when deciding how resources within the health sector should be distributed. Quality adjusted life years (QALYs) are used to measure the value of different medical treatments. QALY is based on utility maximization theory, which suggests that a QALY is always a QALY regardless of who receives it. Therefore, a produced QALY is worth the same regardless of the age or the initial health of the patient. Previous research has shown that these assumptions do not seem to fit the real preferences of individuals.

Bakgrund: Låg socioekonomisk status ökar risken för osunda beteendemönster, bland annat vad gäller matvanorna. Barns levnadsvanor är av stor vikt, då grunden för deras framtida vanor läggs under barndomen.Syfte: Att beskriva skillnaderna i barns kostvanor beroende på vilken socioekonomisk grupp de tillhör.Metod: Litteraturstudie. Resultatet i tio vetenskapliga artiklar sammanfattades genom att söka återkommande ämnen, av vilka teman skapades.Resultat: Socioekonomiska faktorer, föräldrars inkomst och utbildningsnivå påverkar barns matvanor och måltidsmönster. Det framkom att låg socioekonomisk status vanligtvis innebär mer osund och mindre sund mat, samt mer oregelbundna måltidsmönster.Slutsats: Fler undersökningar av barns matvanor beroende på socioekonomisk status bör genomföras för att få bättre insikt i anledningarna till dessa. Detta för att kunna sätta in riktade interventioner i syfte att minska ojämlikheterna i kostvanor mellan barn..

The aim with this study was to gain an understanding for teaching as an profession, and get a bigger knowledge about the certification of teaching and what it means for the teaching occupations status. To get an answer for this study two methods were used. The first method was a survey with questions that were sent out to working high school teachers in the North of Sweden. The second method was a document analysis of articales from three Swedish dailynewspapers. To analyse the results from this study a theory about professions is used troughout the whole paper.This studies resluts shows that profession as an definition is hard to undestand.

Syfte och frågeställningar: Det övergripande syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur ungdomar pratar om identitet, status och utanförskap ställt i relation till fritid och idrott som identitetsskapande arenor. För att besvara detta syfte utgick vi från följande frågeställningar; Hur pratar ungdomar om identitet, status och utanförskap? På vilket sätt påverkar fritid och idrott ungdomars identitetsskapande? Vad får utanförskap och status för inverkan på ett identitetsskapande?Metod: Studien utformades abduktivt och baserades på en kvalitativ metod. Empirin samlades in genom tre halvstrukturerade fokusgruppsintervjuer med ungdomar över 15 år och själva urvalet baserades på en blandning av kvot- och snöbollsurval. Själva studien utgick från tre centrala begrepp (identitet, status och utanförskap) som diskuterades och ställdes i relation till varandra.

Sharia or western equality?womenin Egyptian legislationThe Islamic law (Sharia) in most of the countries in Middle East and North Africa has been the basis for modern laws which regulate issues such as marriage, divorce and inheritance. These laws (personal status law or family law) have been debated frequently in the last decades.There are those who consider personal status law (PSL) as unjust, male-biased and discriminating against women especially in the issue of divorce. On the other hand there are voices who call to go back to the Sharia, because muslims has to follow the islamic law and its values, they are universal as they claim. In this essay I try to enlighten these two points of view which can be found in the debate in Egypt.

The purpose of this study was to enlighten the views of male social work students on; the social work profession, social work status and their career options. Also, the study aimed at getting these students angles of approach on the fact that they, being men, are a minority group within the profession of social work. Some of the main questions were: Why does not social work as a profession seem to attract men? What about the status of the profession of social work? What were the thoughts of male social work students about this? What advantages or disadvantages did they recognise, being a minority in the profession? The method used in this study was doing separate interviews. All of the interviewed students were convinced that they had a better chance of getting a job.

This study examines patterns of consumption during the 1780s in Öjaby and Virestad parishes. I have examined the clothes and jewelry in estate inventories using the concept of status. Then I have used Pierre Bourdieu's theories to understand fashion mechanisms.I have identified five different groups, each distinguished by their formal wear. Men have similar clothes but in Virestad they have more items and more silver. Four people were divergent, they choose other materials and models.

I denna uppsats genomförs en studie av HR-funktionen under en organisationsförändring. Syftet med föreliggande uppsats är att undersöka HR- funktionens ansvar, roll och status på ett kommunalt bolag. Vidare syftar uppsatsentill att se om HR-funktionens uppdrag förändras i ett förändringsarbete och i så fall på vilket sätt.Teori och tidigare forskning som tillämpas i denna studie berör ansvarsfördelning, HR-funktionens roll och status. Även teori och tidigare forskning kring organisationsförändring används för att få en förståelse för kontexten.Studien genomfördes på Renova AB med fyra HR-ansvariga, två chefer och enfacklig representant. Kvalitativa intervjuer och organisationsanalyser genomfördes för att få en inblick i hur väl chefer och fack känner till HR-funktionens ansvarsområden samt hur kommunikationen sker i organisationen.

Status handlar om en persons position i en hierarki inom en viss grupp. Det är inte en egenskap utan något som uppstår i relationen mellan människor. Syftet med denna studie var att kartlägga eventuella skillnader vad gäller hur människor attribuerar kvinnors och mäns statusbeteende. Med hjälp av en egenframtagen enkät samlades data in från 57 studenter vid Psykologiska institutionen, Stockholms universitet. Data analyserades med hjälp av en variansanalys.

But today the profession has low status and hard to survive. How can the interest for farming be increased?Gotlandsgården is an investigation about how the agriculture could develop.

The aim of this bachelor?s thesis is to develop knowledge about how librarians experience their professional identity, argue for their competence and describe their profession based on their professional skills, tasks, and status. The method that is used to answer the questions of the study is semi-structured interviews with five public librarians. The theory used in this essay is Ørom?s six librarian identities plus Schreiber?s experience intermediate identity.

In this study the practical work with the EU Water Framework starts on the island of Gotland. 33 lakes and 32 streams have been characterized and classified regarding to their ecological status. The aim with the characterisation is to create a uniform discription of all waterbodies and a comparable estimation for the future. The aim with the classification is both to study the waterbodies ecological status and to gain knowledge of where the resources should be concentrated so that the ecological status in all waterbodies will be good in 2015.The characterisation has been done according to the EU Water Framework Directive, and the factors that have been applied are the mean depth and area of the lake. The length and size on the catchment area are the factors that have been used on streams.

Vattenfall AB is a large producer of electric energy where approximately half of the energy comes from hydropower. Vattenfall Hydropower has got almost a 100-year old history and the company has developed a lot since 1909. After that the number of power plants increased and the competition got more intense, there were higher demands on the reliability. One way to secure the reliability with a good satisfaction at the power plants is to implement a maintenance method named Reliability-Centred Maintenance. RCM is a result of the introduction of the complex aeroplane Boeing 747 in the 1960?s.

Forskning har visat att många skolbarn lider av psykisk ohälsa och att ohälsa påverkas av socioekonomisk status och etnisk tillhörighet. Studiens syfte var att undersöka om gruppbehandling med medveten närvaro kan minska skolbarns oro, ångest och nedstämdhet i ett område med låg socioekonomisk status och etnisk mångfald. Aktiv behandling jämfördes med kontrollbehandling (avslappningsövningar). 50 skolbarn i åk 3 deltog. Behandlingen omfattade 12 sessioner á 30 minuter under sex veckor.
